Daniel Langdon confronted Ethan Barnes, accusing him of threatening Celeste Linden into marriage. Ethan asserted his claim over Celeste and warned Daniel to stay away, ending their friendship if he continued to pursue her. Celeste, worried about a fight, questioned Ethan about his conversation with Daniel, but he responded with jealousy and accusations, which reaffirmed her belief that his amnesia was real.

"Better be so. If I see you entangled with any other man again, I’ll have you pack up and leave!"

He left a threatening remark and walked away with flair.

Celeste Linden, "..."

...

Ethan Barnes went to the barracks, and Celeste Linden sent Danielle to the kindergarten. Danielle is three years old this year and is just starting the toddler class.

Danielle was very happy because there are many little friends in the kindergarten to play with her.

Celeste Linden returned home to start designing, and that’s when visitors arrived—it was the second branch of the family.

The wife of the second branch, Adela, has a strong background, so she’s used to being arrogant in the Barnes family. She has a daughter, Nina, who is one year older than Danielle and she is pregnant again, five months into her pregnancy, with her belly showing.

Nina rushed straight into Danielle’s room upon entering, opened Danielle’s cupboard, and took out all the dolls inside. "Wow, there are so many beautiful dolls here. I like this one, and this one too. I want to take them all home."

Nina put all of Danielle’s dolls into her own bag.

Celeste Linden heard the commotion and came over. All these dolls were bought by her for Danielle. Every city they visited, she would buy a doll as a souvenir for Danielle. Danielle cherished these dolls dearly, and they have brought joy to their mother-daughter duo for three whole years.

Celeste Linden spoke up, "Nina, these dolls belong to Danielle. When Danielle comes back, we can see which one she wants to give you, okay? Or perhaps I could take you to the mall, there are plenty of dolls there, and I’ll buy you any that you like."

"I don’t want those!" Nina refused outright. She placed the dolls she liked into her bag, tossing aside those she didn’t like directly onto the ground. "I just want Danielle’s dolls!"

"Nina!" Celeste Linden picked up the dolls from the ground, stepping forward to stop her.

But Adela appeared, blocking Celeste Linden’s path, and arrogantly said, "I say, sister-in-law, aren’t you being too stingy? These dolls don’t cost much. Can’t you bear to give these to Nina?"

"That’s not what I mean. These dolls hold extraordinary meaning for Danielle. Don’t you ask for others’ permission before taking their things?"

"Sister-in-law, what do you mean by this? Do you think only Danielle is the little princess of the Barnes family and our Nina isn’t? Anything Nina wants, you should give her. If not, we’ll take it by force. You have to give it to us regardless!" Adela stood with her hands on her hips, speaking unreasonably.

Celeste Linden finally realized why Nina was so domineering—it’s all due to Adela’s bandit-like attitude. She seriously remarked, "These dolls are ours, and we’re not giving them. Step aside!"

Adela immediately thrust her prominently swollen belly before Celeste Linden, "Celeste Linden, dare you touch me and see what happens—I’m carrying the Barnes family’s treasured grandson in here."

Adela spoke with immense satisfaction, "The Barnes family is already sparsely populated. You’ve only given birth to Danielle, a daughter. Now I’m pregnant with a male fetus, incredibly precious. Even the old man has to show me respect. Dare you lay a finger on me, and I’ll lie on the ground, making sure you face dire consequences!"

Celeste Linden, "..."

The old man values this grandson greatly. Celeste Linden doesn’t want to confront a pregnant woman physically, and while hesitating, Nina had already packed her bag. "Mommy, I’ve picked out the dolls; let’s go home."

"Let’s go." Adela walked out grandly, holding Nina’s hand.
