Gina’s face was twisted in worry, and Riyala asked her if everything was alright. Gina let out a small sigh, and she smiled and told Riyala that everything was fine. Gina didn’t want to worry the other girls with what was going on, so she decided to keep quiet for now. Gina trusted Jason to handle anything that came his way, so when Jason was done with his fight, he would explain what happened!

Jason blocked another hit from the lightning dragon and lashed out with a blow that sent the dragon’s head whipping back like a punching bag! The dragon spun around to use its tail again, but Jason grabbed the tail and roared as he continued the spin and threw the dragon into a mountain on the other side of the battlefield! Jason blasted forward with his sword pulled back, and the dragon roared as the sky began to darken with lightning!

[Rain of Lightning]!

Millions of black lightning bolts suddenly fell from the sky! Each one powerful enough to kill any TITAN Rank III immediately! Jason danced around most of the lightning bolts with unbelievable dexterity, and Jason threw his sword back into his Alternate Dimension as he began gathering resonance power in his right hand!

The resonance power formed a white ball that pulsed within Jason’s hand, and Jason sped up even more as he concentrated on dodging! The power that Jason held in his hand was pure resonance, and as it swirled dangerously, Jason knew that one mistake here would be the end for him! Resonance power was very unstable, so if Jason was hit by even one bolt of lightning while holding this ball, then the power would detonate prematurely, and he would suffer from his own attack! But it was almost like Jason had entered into a flow state! Every bolt of lightning that sparked through the air stood out to Jason like he was seeing the world in slow motion, and Jason moved around all of them easily before he finally reached the dragon!

The lightning dragon flapped its large wings and began to move back once it sensed the power gathering on Jason’s hand! That power was stronger than anything it had ever seen before, and it knew it couldn’t get hit by that! But the dragon wasn’t able to move quickly enough, and in the next moment, Jason activated [Time Dilation]!

The world slowed to a crawl as Jason’s skill allowed him to move forward faster than the dragon could follow! Jason pulled his hand back and grit his teeth, and the moment he was close enough, Jason slammed his resonance orb straight into the chest of the Lightning dragon!

Time sped up once again, and then the world imploded!

KA-TWOOOOM!!

A blast unlike anything Jason had ever seen tore across the sky! It was like the explosion of a dying star! Like the formation of a massive supernova that tore a black hole into the fabric of reality itself! The blast erupted outwards in a circular orb that eradicated every single mountain for hundreds of miles in every direction! Jason was blown back like a rocket, and he felt his body tearing through hundreds of mountains one after the other without slowing down at all! Jason spread his body out and unleashed a blast of mana into the air, and the next mountain he slammed into managed to finally stop him from flying back!

BOOM!

Jason formed a massive crater on the side of the mountain that could be seen from miles in every direction, and Jason dropped to his knees and coughed in pain as he felt his entire body shaking! Jason looked down at his right hand, and he laughed when he saw that he had completely destroyed it! The skin and muscles were gone, and Jason could see the bone underneath! But thankfully, Jason’s high healing factor had already kicked in, and Jason could see the flesh and muscle reforming over the bone once again.

Jason leaned forward and coughed again before he grunted.

"No, just take it down to ten percent, and turn off Soul Mate."

Jason knew that he had put too much strain on his Legion by using this skill for so long, but Jason hadn’t had a choice! Once Jason turned off the Soul Mate skill, he could feel gratitude from his Legion subordinates, and Jason laughed silently. Even though the Legion were made up of dead souls, it was obvious they didn’t enjoy feeling the intense pain from Resonance! Jason sat up on his knees, and he looked out into the distance to see how much damage his attack had caused! And what Jason saw actually made his eyes widen in shock!

Everything for as far as the eye could see was gone! The mountains and the clouds had completely cleared up, and there was only a wide circle of blue sky left behind! Jason stood up and looked down, and he saw a massive corpse lying on the ground far beneath him. Jason’s lips slowly stretched into a smile, and he floated off the mountain and began heading down to see the corpse.

Jason read through the message from the system quickly while floating down towards the corpse of the Lightning dragon, and Jason hummed in surprise when he saw the skill he had been given. The Checkmate skill sounded like one of the most overpowered skills Jason had ever seen! Being able to put any skill into a Seal and activating it at a later date would mean that Jason could mark anyone he believed was suspicious and take them out later if they ever seemed like they would be a threat!

’This would’ve been useful back when Cerci was a problem. Or a few minutes ago against those King Guard Avarans’

Jason realised that this skill was similar to the [Binding Chain] rune that he had used on Cerci! If Jason had this skill back then, he would’ve probably used it to keep Cerci in check, but these days Cerci was working in the same direction as Jason, so there was no longer any need for that. When the skill would’ve really been useful was a few minutes ago against the King’s Guard. If Jason had placed a seal on either of those Avarans, then he could’ve waited until they were in their hiding spot before detonating it and killing them all.

Jason turned away from the system with a frown and swore to use the skill the next time he met those bastards. Jason made his way down to the giant dragon’s body, and he landed beside the burnt and charred corpse! Jason’s resonance had torn a hole straight through the center of the Lightning Dragon’s chest, and blue blood was leaking from the wound and flowing down a large lake that was passing beside the dragon’s body!

Jason put his hand out and touched the dragon’s body, and Jason felt multiple bolts of electricity travelling from the dragon’s body towards his palm! The attack would be strong enough to really hurt a TITAN Rank, but since Jason was a PRIMORDIAL, he could ignore it completely! Jason chuckled! Even when it was already dead, the dragon’s defences were still insanely high!
