A shapeshifter tricks a superhuman, revealing the Jamani mercenaries' plot to plunder L'horm. Enraged by their betrayal after helping them secure the throne, Jason decides to eliminate them all. He seals the castle with a powerful rune and unleashes his legion to slaughter every mercenary within its walls.

The Legion subordinates appeared on the grounds outside the castle, and they began heading into the main castle with their weapons prepared for a fight! Some members of the Jamani mercenaries noticed the soldiers entering the castle, and the mercenaries cursed as they sped up their retreat! The Jamani still didn’t know that they couldn’t leave this castle even if they wanted to because of the magic shield set up by Azrael, so they were trying to get to the airship at the back of the castle to try and leave L’horm before Jason’s Legion got to them! But what was about to happen in this castle was not something anyone could call a battle! It was a one-sided extermination!

Multiple Legion members sank into the shadows and dashed across the castle grounds as they headed into the castle, and the Jamani warriors were caught completely unawares as the Legion appeared and unleashed attacks that lit up the entire castle!

BOOM!

BOOM!

Massive tremors travelled across the castle as the Legion subordinates began their attack! The Machina used their cannon blasters to eliminate any Jamani mercenary that they saw, and the Bengari flashed across the shadows of the castle corridors and appeared from unexpected places before stabbing the Mercenaries to death!

Loud screams echoed through the hallways as palace guards and maids tried their best to run away from the intense fight happening around them! The Legion was only targeting the Jamani mercenaries, but both of the armies were so powerful that it would be easy for anyone caught between them to end up as collateral damage!

At the front of the Legion Army was the Bengari queen Diana and the former Sovereign of Radagan. Diana held a long sword in one hand and a massive shield in her other, and she didn’t bother to enter into the shadows to try and sneak up on enemies! Diana simply walked through the halls and stalked down any mercenary that she found! One of the mercenaries appeared from the side with a shout and tried to stab Diana, but a single swing of Diana’s sword was enough to tear them in half! Another mercenary sent a blast of fire towards Diana, but Diana put up her shield to block the flames! The fire spread around Diana and slammed into the wall behind her, breaking it to pieces, but Diana wasn’t affected at all, and another Legion subordinate appeared from behind the attacker and stabbed her in the back to kill her!

As a knight, Diana was one of the highest-ranking subordinates in the Legion, so she had the authority to command the other subordinates whenever they were in the middle of a fight. So once Diana looked out the window beside her and saw that there were multiple mercenaries running towards a large airship behind the castle, she immediately ordered the subordinates to move towards the airship as well!

’Kill them for the king! Do not let a single one escape! Forward!!’

Diana shouted to the Legion, and the Legion sank into the shadows and immediately began heading towards the airship!

Jason was moving through the castle with a scowl on his face. There were dead bodies decorating the ground all around him, and multiple maids and guards were running past him as they tried to get away from the fights. But Jason didn’t care about any of that. Jason sent a message to Yuslev, the Machina general in his army.

’Have you found him yet?’

’No, my king. I promise I will find him. We will not stop until we bring him to you.’

Yuslev answered respectfully, and Jason narrowed his eyes as he cut off the connection. Jason had sent Yuslev and a few other subordinates out to find the man that stabbed the superhuman earlier. Jason was not the sort of person to overlook something like that, and Jason was going to make sure the man paid for what he did.

Jason turned to the side as a massive explosion tore through the castle, and Jason used his [Eye of the King] to see what was happening over there. There was a battle between Jason’s Legion and some mercenaries, and once Jason saw the person fighting on the front, Jason changed his direction and started moving towards this new battle.

....

[The Castle Courtyard]

In the large courtyard outside the main castle, a few hundred mercenaries were locked in a fierce battle against a group of fifty Legion members! The mercenaries were all high-ranking mages who were either high-level TITAN Rank I or low-level TITAN Rank II, but even though they were so strong, it was still impossible for them to push back the much fewer Legion subordinates standing against them! The reason for this was simple: the Legion did not fear death!

The Jamani were fighting like mad men who wanted to carve a path straight through the Legion army, but no matter how many times they cut down the Legion subordinates, or how many of the Legion they killed, the Legion just kept coming back to life and advancing like a group of zombies! The Jamani mercenaries suddenly realised that these creatures were not normal beasts that would go down after you killed them, and since the Jamani didn’t know how many times the Legion could come back, the Jamani decided that it was pointless to try and take them down!

At the front of the mercenary army was Calypso, the leader, and she wasted no time as she brought out an artefact and threw it towards the Legion army!

Crack!

Freeze!

The artefact immediately flash-froze every single Legion subordinate in front of them! The Legion soldiers were still alive inside the ice, but the artefact that Calypso had used was a TITAN Rank artefact called [Eternal Tundra], which could trap any TITAN Rank and below in a prison of ice for at least five minutes, so Calypso was sure that it would hold the Legion back for a few minutes and give them time to escape!

"RUN!"

Calypso shouted to her men, and they all blasted off the ground and began heading towards their ship! Calypso didn’t know how things could have gone south so quickly! Things had been going so well with both the king as well as with Jason, and Calypso was sure that if they kept things stable, they could’ve left this world with more than enough money as well as the research the Northern Alliance Academy had been working on!

’It’s all that fool’s fault! If I ever see him again, I’ll make sure I kill him myself!’

The person Calypso was talking about was the man who stabbed the superhuman in front of the treasury. That man was a stranger that Calypso had only met a few months ago. The man had come up to Calypso during one of the Jamani’s jobs on a distant world and asked to join their group, and after they saw how powerful he was, Calypso didn’t see any reason to refuse him. The man had been working very hard all this time, and he was one of the main reasons why Calypso and her group were able to defeat the Drakan so easily and take over this domain! Calypso always knew the man was a wild card, but he had never ignored any of her orders before, so she never saw any reason to doubt his loyalty!

But Calypso could’ve never guessed that he would suddenly act out on a day like this! Calypso had sent out a message to every single member of her group, warning them not to attack the overlord or any member of his group since it would draw the Overlord’s anger! Calypso knew all her men had gotten the message, so this meant that the man had attacked the overlord’s group intentionally!

’He wanted this to happen! He plotted all of it so the overlord would take us out! If I see him again, I’ll kill him myself! I knew I shouldn’t have trusted him!’
