Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 962: The Sin of Greed

Calypso looked like something straight out of a man’s wet dream, and Jason would not deny that she was beautiful. But Jason really couldn’t care less about something like that, and he didn’t feel any desire towards her. Jason simply spoke up calmly.

"What is going on here?"

"Nothing at all, my lord. My men and I were simply asking Headmaster Jaen here to allow us to enter his prestigious Academy for an excursion. We’ve heard great things about it, and we wanted to explore it to see for ourselves if the stories are true."

Calypso’s low, seductive voice floated towards Jason calmly, and Jason eyed her with an emotionless gaze. Calypso’s smile and tone made it look like Calypso was telling the truth, but Jason obviously did not believe her. A group of mercenaries were trying to enter an academy because they wanted to explore it? Was that meant to be some sort of joke?

Jason turned towards Headmaster Jaen, and he asked him to explain what was really happening. For a moment, Jason could feel Calypso tense slightly, and Jason expected the headmaster to say something negative about Calypso and her men, but Jason was surprised when the headmaster simply said.

"I told the Jamani that they are not welcome here, but they have refused to take no for an answer. I would appreciate it if they refrained from causing such a scene in front of my Academy."

Jason watched the headmaster with narrowed eyes as he wondered what was going on here! It was obvious that things had been far more serious than what the headmaster was saying, but for some reason, the headmaster was playing it down to make it look like it wasn’t a big deal. Jason hummed, and he decided that this was fine. If the headmaster didn’t want to make it a big deal, then Jason would not dig deeper unnecessarily.

Jason turned to the Jamani and spoke.

"Leave at once. I don’t want to see you anywhere close to this Academy again. Do you understand?"

Calypso smiled at Jason once more, and she bowed low enough for him to get a good look at her cleavage through her low neckline. Jason ignored her obvious actions, and he watched as she glanced at the headmaster for a moment before calling her men to move out. The Jamani walked away from the academy entrance, and once they vanished in the distance, the headmaster spoke up.

"I appreciate your help, Lord Jason. I will be on my way now."

The headmaster turned to leave, but he stopped as Jason spoke from behind him.

"Are you sure you don’t need any help, Jaen? What you explained didn’t really match what I saw. The Jamani weren’t here just for some sightseeing."

Jason’s tone was calm and reassuring, like he was trying to make Jaen know that he was on his side, but Jaen simply smiled at Jason.

"I apologise for taking up your time, my lord. I have quite a lot of work still to be done. If you’ll excuse me."

Jaen continued walking into the Academy, and Jason sent a subordinate through the shadows.

’Follow him.’

The subordinate immediately slithered forward and attached itself to Jaen’s shadow as he walked through the doors. And Jason frowned as the subordinate was thrown back just before the doors closed with a bang! There was a magical shield protecting the academy from uninvited visitors, and it acted in the same way the interworld travel rune acted by blocking anyone whose magic signature wasn’t already registered from entering!

If Jason wanted to learn what was really going on here, then he would have to wait for Jaen to reach out to him personally. Jason clucked his tongue as he easily figured out what had happened, and he gave an order:

’Stay here and watch the entrance. If the Jamani tries anything, then let me know.’

Jason left a few subordinates behind as spies before he sank into the shadows and vanished.

[With the Jamani]

"I thought I told you to take care of that fool! Look what your negligence has caused!"

Calypso seethed in the face of her second in command angrily! The two of them were standing in a dark room on the outskirts of the castle, and Calypso was pacing around with her hands folded as she tried to find a way to get out of this mess.

After the battle of the two brothers in L’horm, Calypso had ordered some of her mercenaries to follow the older brother Vanix out into the Primordial Expanse and kill him. Calypso was doing this to make sure that Vanix did not come back with any powerful allies to try and retake the throne in the future, but from what Calypso could see, it was obvious that her men had all failed!

Vanix hadn’t just brought a powerful ally, but he had brought the most powerful person in this entire domain to their doorstep! If it were anyone else, then Calypso could have dealt with them easily. Seduction and assassination could deal with most of the powerful men out there, but Jason Marc was different! Trying to seduce that man would be like dancing naked over a furnace, and assassinating him was even more difficult!

Calypso was seeing all of their plans crumbling right in front of her face, and she didn’t know what to do about it! If only that bastard Jaen Trush had given her access to the Academy! If they had entered there, then there would’ve been no need for them to still be here!

"Nadi, did you hear Jaen saying anything to the overlord earlier?"

Calypso turned towards another one of her subordinates who was standing at the side, and the man shook his head. This man was a human-bat hybrid with the head of a bat and the body of a human. He came from a world known as Sonara, and he had one of the best hearing amongst all the creatures in the Primordial Expanse!

Calypso had left Nadi behind so he could spy on Jason and Jaen’s conversation to see what would be exchanged between them, but from what Nadi noticed, Jaen had only dismissed the overlord and returned to the Academy a few seconds later! There was no exchange of information!

Once she heard this, Calypso began to bite her thumbnail with a scowl on her face. Were they really looking for something that didn’t exist right now?

The reason why the Jamani were still on this planet even after they had practically won the war for Makin was because of the deal Makin made with them. Before the battle of the two brothers, Makin literally had nothing to his name. He was broke and crippled, so there was no way for him to repay the Jamani if they gave him help in the fight! So rather than promising to pay with money, Makin used the kingdom itself as a bargaining chip! The kingdom of L’horm was a very prosperous kingdom with gold and silver that filled up multiple treasuries! They had vast farmland and rich mines that would serve them for generations!

Makin had promised the Jamani twenty percent of all the riches of L’horm if they helped him to take the throne from his brother! The Jamani had obviously agreed to this deal since it was very favourable for them, and they fought their hearts out to take the throne from Vanix.

But after the war of the brothers, things had changed a little. The Jamani discovered very quickly that there was no longer any other fighting force in the kingdom of L’horm other than them. They were literally the strongest group of people in this world, so if they decided that they wished to take over this world for themselves, who was going to stop them?
