The massive black ball tore through the ground as it shot towards Jason! As it moved, it consumed everything around it like a black hole and warped the space in front of it like it was trying to tear through the fabric of the dimension! This attack was called [Angel’s Wrath], and it had been designed by a Primordial race of Angels millions of years ago to help them during the war of the Old Gods! The attack was strong enough to harm a Primordial, and anything weaker than a Primordial touched by this attack would immediately cease to exist! Jason ran across the area as the Angel unleashed three more balls that all converged on him, and Jason was shocked when the Angel pulled out two large blades of pure light using its last two hands! The angel pulled the weapons back and slashed them towards Jason, and Jason activated a Legion skill!

[King’s Substitute] has been activated!

The blades moved faster than light, but thankfully, the [King’s Substitute] was even faster, and the blades struck a large dragon subordinate that appeared in Jason’s place! The Angel reached into a ripple that appeared in the air beside it, and Jason watched from the other side of the battlefield as the Angel pulled out the most powerful sword he had ever seen in his life! The blade was more than a hundred meters long with a golden pommel that shone in the sunlight! There were multiple jewels embedded into the length of the silver blade, and the entire thing shone with a radiance unlike anything Jason had ever seen! The moment the Angel touched the blade, the Angel’s face squeezed in pain as its hand began to sizzle, and Jason realised that the blade was hurting it! Was this some sort of holy blade that could only be used by holy creatures?

"Shit!"

Jason cursed as he felt a strange pain somewhere in the back of his head, and he had to quickly look away from the blade as well! Jason didn’t know why, but at that moment, he immediately knew that this blade was dangerous!

The [Spirit of the Weeping Angel] was a remnant of a Primordial Race of Angels that existed during the Age of Celestials millions of years ago. Back then, the old celestial gods ruled over both the Primordial Expanse and the celestial planes, and there were many primordial races that wielded power beyond mortal comprehension! The Weeping Angels earned their titles after they fell to Demonic temptation and betrayed their own people during the war of the Old Gods. The Angels were punished by having their eyes gouged out, and their spirits were trapped within Artefacts and scattered across the Celestial Plane. Since they were technically still Angels, they still had the authority to call upon the powers they once wielded during the Age of Celestials. But since their authority had been corrupted by demonic temptation, using their angelic weapons brought them great pain!

The reason why Jason also felt pain was because the sword drawn by the Weeping Angel was a holy blade endowed with an extraordinary amount of holy energy for slaying demons! And since Jason’s Vympir Gene had a distant relation to the Old Demon God, it was obvious that Jason would also be affected by that holy energy!

But Jason didn’t know all of this, and he didn’t bother trying to figure it out! The only thing on Jason’s mind right now was the fact that he couldn’t let that sword touch him, no matter what! The Angel didn’t know where Jason was, so there was a high chance that it would attack randomly to try and lure Jason out! If that was the case, then Jason needed to remain in the Angel’s blind spot so he could counterattack without giving away his location! But Jason was shocked when the Angel brought the blade forward so that it was held horizontally with two hands! The Weeping Angel poured mana into the blade until it glowed with a brilliant white glow that illuminated the area, and then the Angel pulled the blade back and delivered a devastating horizontal slash!

PHWOOM!

A wave of holy energy swept across the entire battlefield and tore through everything around it! The Angel didn’t even care where Jason was! It was ready to destroy this entire island just to get him! The wave of holy energy eradicated everything it touched, and Jason immediately cursed and summoned the [Spear of Heaven]! The spear appeared in Jason’s hand, and it immediately activated its defensive ability to counter the attack! The wave of energy slammed into the golden shield, and Jason felt his mana running down quickly! Since he was trying to use TITAN Rank mana to block a PRIMORDIAL-level attack, it was obvious that he wasn’t going to last long!

Once the wave was gone, Jason noticed the angel pulling its sword back for another swing, and Jason slammed his feet into the ground and threw the [Spear of Heaven]!

WOOSH!

Jason added wind magic behind the blade to make it even faster, and the blade flew straight towards the Angel’s head! Even though the Angel was a PRIMORDIAL, it could still sense the danger present within that attack, and the Angel brought one of its wings forward to block the spear! But that action managed to stop the Angel from launching its attack, and it also blocked the Angel’s view to allow Jason to charge forward!

Jason knew that with his regular mana, there was no way he would be able to win this! Trying to use TITAN-level mana to cause any damage to a PRIMORDIAL being was foolishness at best and idiocy at worst! So the only option that Jason had now was to supercharge his mana to the level where it would be able to compete with Primordial mana! And the only way Jason could do that was by activating Resonance for the rest of this fight!

’Are you sure about this, Jason? I already told you it’s dangerous to use resonance like that. Pouring resonance mana out of your body to attack the environment is one thing, but allowing resonance mana to flow through your body and using it to activate skills is another thing entirely. You could tear yourself apart!’

Esdath’s worried voice echoed through Jason’s mind, and Jason frowned! After the fight Jason had with the [Beast of the Apocalypse] back then, Jason understood that Resonance mana was one of the most dangerous things in his arsenal! It was the only skill in Jason’s arsenal that could hurt him just from using it! Resonance had not only burnt Jason to an inch of his life, but it was powerful enough to tear Jason’s organs apart if he used it for too long! But Jason knew that he didn’t have a choice here! Diane had shown how desperate she was to kill him, and Jason needed to respond properly! It didn’t matter if it was a PRIMORDIAL or a goddamned god. Jason wasn’t going to back down!

Esdath couldn’t help the worry he felt for Jason because Esdath knew just how dangerous Resonance could really be! Jason was the first person in history to use mana and Qi in this way, so no one knew what sort of side effects it could have down the road! But after a declaration like that, Esdath realised that there was no way he could stop Jason since Jason had already made up his mind! Esdath felt a wave of pride shooting through his heart, and he threw his head back and laughed!

’Hahahah! Fine then! If you want to test yourself so badly, then who am I to stop you! Show them what my student is capable of!’

Esdath shouted in excitement, and Jason grinned as he pulled out the [Death’s Mirage]!
