Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 828: Who Is To Blame For This?
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
The surrounding superhumans averted their gazes, remaining in stony silence! Regular humans, unable to perceive mana, were oblivious to the dire peril they were in. For the superhumans, however, the present circumstances were akin to a descent into hell. The mana signatures emanating from Jason’s subordinates dwarfed any they had ever encountered before, orders of magnitude more potent! Even a combined force of all present superhumans would be utterly overwhelmed by a single one of Jason’s subordinates. How did ordinary humans expect the superhumans to prevail? These superhumans, too, had been abducted, their capabilities rendered useless in this situation. As tension escalated and the non-superhumans clamored for answers, the Legion members stationed nearby made their presence known, projecting their magic to quell the unrest.
BOOM!
A sudden wave of pressure washed over the room, shocking everyone into stunned silence. They cautiously lowered themselves, their eyes wide as they surveyed the Legion subordinates. The leaders present had faced formidable individuals before, but never had they experienced power on this scale! Just one of these subordinates possessed enough might to be classified as an SSS Rank, surpassing even the world's most powerful figure, Yulev Stragga!
Yulev Stragga, seated a few rows to the left of the Supreme Leader of North Korea, felt a cold sweat trickle down his spine as an imposing Legion subordinate stood sentinel beside him. The former Sovereign leader of Radagan, the very individual who had abducted Stragga earlier, emanated mana so potent that Stragga understood his utter helplessness. The Sovereign's power far eclipsed Stragga's own, leaving him no recourse but to endure whatever fate awaited him.
"So, how long must we wait for those responsible? Is this some elaborate power play intended to instill fear in us?"
The President of South Africa voiced his frustration, a frown creasing his brow. The Canadian President responded, "I believe it's quite clear who is pulling the strings. My intelligence agency reported the reappearance of a particular individual mere hours ago, and within that same hour, I was abducted and brought to this location. I doubt that's a mere coincidence."
A palpable silence descended upon the group; no one could refute the Canadian president's assertion. There existed only one man possessing the capability, the influence, and the sheer audacity to orchestrate the simultaneous kidnapping of so many heads of state: Jason Marc. All eyes gradually shifted towards the delegation from America. The President of the United States sat alongside the head of the American Superhumans Management Department and the Chief Commander of the Enforcers. Despite the clear evidence that these three, like everyone else, had been abducted, they governed the very nation from which Jason originated. Consequently, the other leaders naturally expected them to provide some explanation.
"We share your bewilderment regarding this situation. Demanding an explanation from us will serve no purpose."
The US President spoke first, but the Russian President clearly found this unsatisfying, retorting with indignation, "What do you mean you have no idea what's happening!? He is your citizen! Someone nurtured and empowered within your own borders! You bore the responsibility of keeping him in check! This is precisely why I maintain that Americans possess far too much latitude! Allowing that man free rein was tantamount to detonating a nuclear bomb on the world stage without supervision!"
"Perhaps your concept of 'keeping him in check' involves clandestine experimentation. Unlike your nation, we genuinely value our citizens!"
The American President turned, fixing the Russian President with a glare. The Russian President narrowed his eyes in response. He had believed no one was privy to Russia's secret experiments aimed at augmenting the power of their most formidable superhumans. How had the Americans discovered this? Regardless, the experiments were beginning to yield results, but the Russian President could not afford to reveal too much in this precarious setting. He dismissed the American President's comment and continued,
"Well, look at the results of your 'care,' would you? We've been abducted, and now we're completely at the mercy of a power far exceeding our own! A power that you could have easily contained from the very beginning if you had simply placed some restrictions on his actions!"
The President of the United States clicked his tongue, turning away as he saw no benefit in debating national governance with the Russian president. However, his attention was recaptured as the Prime Minister of Japan vocalized their thoughts.
"Regardless of how much personal freedom you believe your citizens deserve, it's undeniably a major lapse in judgment that one of your own citizens became potent enough to perpetrate such an act. For all we know, this 'Jason Marc' could be a megalomaniac determined to achieve world domination. He might have brought us all here solely for the purpose of eliminating us."
The Chief Commander of the Enforcers spoke, gesturing towards the formidable Legion subordinates positioned nearby.
"If Jason Marc's intent was to kill us, I believe we would already be deceased. It's patently clear that this situation signifies something entirely different. For several months now, Jason Marc has been absent from Earth. Upon his departure, his strength was insufficient to accomplish such a feat, which is why we saw no necessity in curtailing his movements, assuming we could intervene if he overstepped. However, it is now evident that his journey has endowed him with unfathomable power. To attribute blame for his acquired strength to us is illogical, as it occurred entirely beyond our sphere of influence."
"Are you seriously maintaining that stance, even under these circumstances? If a citizen from any of our respective nations had been responsible, would you be so quick to absolve your own country of blame?"
The Japanese Prime Minister clearly expressed dissatisfaction with the Chief Commander's statements. The Chief Commander fell silent, realizing the accuracy of the Prime Minister's observation. Had Jason originated from any other country, the Americans would undoubtedly have assigned blame to them for failing to adequately control Jason! The other nations, however, failed to grasp the full picture! Even prior to Jason's departure from Earth a few months ago, he had already emerged as a formidable presence. Attempting to antagonize a man of such caliber would have been the pinnacle of folly! The Chief Commander, along with numerous other high-ranking superhumans, had been aware of Jason's father, Richard, and the immense power he wielded. They all recognized Richard as a man of integrity, and they understood that Jason had inherited his father's best qualities. Therefore, they felt no need to intervene in Jason's affairs until this very moment. Furthermore, no one dared to provoke the family of an individual rumored to be more powerful than the Primordials. Had they taken any action against Jason, they knew Richard would not stand idly by!
