Stragga begins a quest for revenge against Jason for killing his brother, but is interrupted when a mysterious assailant kidnaps him. Meanwhile, world leaders across the globe are abducted by unknown forces, all of whom leave the same cryptic note. It is revealed that Jason is behind the mass kidnappings as part of a plan to unite Earth under a single guiding power.

With a nostalgic expression, Jason let his gaze sweep over the familiar scenery. He and Gina had departed the Stone Catacombs the instant Jason was appointed the new Overlord of the Sixth Domain. After traversing the Teleportation Circle, Jason had employed the technique [King’s Substitute] to return them to Earth. Their absence had been lengthy, and both keenly missed their home planet. The sheer elation that surged through them as they gazed upon their world for the first time in months was indescribable! Truly, no other place could compare to home!

However, while Jason and Gina were basking in happiness, the emotions resonating throughout the rest of the world were drastically different!

The very moment Jason and Gina materialized on Earth, a potent pulse of power emanated outwards, reverberating across the globe and sending shockwaves through every superhuman. The sensation they experienced was akin to a rabbit facing a lion’s stare from above, or a deer on the verge of a tiger’s pounce! Despite their efforts to significantly suppress their powers and minimize their impact on their surroundings, even employing artifacts to dampen their mana release, their extensive combat experience against world-ending threats meant their terrifying auras could not be entirely concealed!

Across the planet, superhumans of varying ranks within numerous guilds turned their gazes toward Riverdale, their faces etched with profound terror. Cold sweat trickled down their spines, a testament to the overwhelming fear gripping their hearts. A palpable sense of inferiority settled upon them. The sudden awareness of two superhumans possessing unfathomable power dawned on everyone, immediately followed by the collective realization that every single superhuman on Earth had effectively been demoted two rungs in the world’s power hierarchy!

Back in Riverdale, Jason savored the view for a few more moments before turning towards a subordinate who emerged from the shadows. Alpha, the commander of Jason’s Phantoms, rose from the ground, immediately dropping to one knee in a respectful bow. A grin spread across Jason's face as he spoke.

"It’s been a while, Alpha. How have things been here?"

Jason had entrusted Alpha with the responsibility of overseeing the subordinates protecting his family during his absence. Given that Jason had been continuously upgrading her and all his other subordinates throughout this period, he was certain Alpha had become vastly more powerful than when he last saw her. Currently, Alpha held the rank of Rook Rank II, placing her on par with an S-Rank superhuman. However, her unique Rook status granted her multiple Legion-based skills, enabling her to contend effectively even against an SS-Rank opponent!

With a formidable combatant like Alpha safeguarding his family, in addition to the considerable growth of his other subordinates over the past few months, Jason’s mind was free from worry during his time away.

Alpha looked up at Jason, her expression filled with reverence. She provided a concise update on his family’s well-being during his months away. Jason's mother, Mira, had immersed herself in work to distract from his disappearance. His sister, Janet, had secured a position within the Vanguard Guild, tasked with the processing and filing of the hundreds of magic cores received daily. Maya and Janet had both received training from an instructor dedicated to helping them control their powers. Once the instructor deemed them sufficiently proficient to avoid harming ordinary humans in daily interactions, Maya was sent back to complete her education at a boarding school.

"I believe it would be beneficial for you to visit your sister Maya in the near future, my King. I sensed her unhappiness at leaving the family without a proper goodbye to you as well. As for your other friends, they have all been well. They have continued their education or training. Some, like your exceptionally robust friend, Darren, are currently undergoing trials to join the Vanguard Guild."

Jason blinked in surprise when he heard Alpha describing Darren as 'unhealthily robust,' realizing Alpha was attempting to call Darren overweight without sounding insulting. Jason couldn't help but chuckle! For some inexplicable reason, that specific description made the term sound far worse. No one in the world would wish to be labeled 'unhealthily robust' under any circumstances! Jason simply shook his head, letting out a thankful sigh as he confirmed his entire family was doing well. While Jason was aware of much of his family's affairs due to his [King's Eye] ability, he couldn't maintain constant surveillance. He was relieved to know that even when his attention wasn't focused on them, no significant incidents had occurred.

"Babe, some people are heading toward the restaurant. Do you think they are coming for you?"

Jason hummed in response to Gina's question, turning his gaze towards the restaurant with a flicker of irritation. He could already sense the mana signatures approaching, recognizing them as those of superhumans. Activating his [King's Eye], Jason's irritation intensified as he identified the approaching group as agents from Gaia. These Gaia agents were creating a cordon around the restaurant, blocking other organizations from getting near. Jason calmly sighed, deciding it made no difference. Let them proceed as they wished; he had already intended to speak with Cercei, so this development was actually advantageous.

Turning to Gina, Jason gently pulled her into his arms and bestowed a kiss upon her forehead. Gina blushed faintly at his affectionate gesture, offering a smile as Jason inquired if she was prepared to return home. Gina nodded affirmatively.

"Let's visit Mom first. After we've settled in, we can go see my parents out on the farm."

Jason smiled in agreement and silently commanded Alpha to resume her duties before he and Gina dissolved into the shadows.

....

The vicinity surrounding the Marc restaurant had transformed into a military containment zone within minutes of the world learning of Jason's return! Gaia was the first organization to react to the news. Foreseeing that this restaurant would be Jason's initial destination, they promptly established a perimeter to prevent any unauthorized access. Over twenty helicopters were positioned on various rooftops, and numerous black vehicles lined the street! Hundreds of individuals in black attire stood guard at the street ends, barring entry, while at least twenty men stood at attention before the restaurant, accompanying Fredrica.

Fredrica had already gone inside to brief Mira on Gaia's operations and was surprised to find Mira unfazed by the soldiers surrounding her establishment. Mira had simply stated they could do as they pleased as long as they stayed outside the restaurant before ushering Fredrica away!
