Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 771: A Shocking Request

Numerous guards and servants hustled past the trio, laden with drinks and food to ensure the festival's alcohol supply never dwindled, with every servant pausing to bow deeply as they passed by. Jason offered nods and smiles to those servants appearing friendly, yet as he neared the chamber designated for his meeting with Farlow, a sigh escaped him upon detecting a familiar magical presence beyond the door. Gina whipped around to Jason, questioning what troubled him, and the instant he disclosed the identity inside, the hallway's atmosphere plunged like a fifty-degree chill! Her eyes sharpened into a piercing glare while she observed the two door guards fling it open, exposing a vast conference chamber. A long table occupied the room's center, lined with plush velvet chairs on both sides, and atop it rested a Crystal Ball for communications. Farlow occupied the head seat, with Queen Hesabeth positioned beside the table, her fan concealing her lower face.
Knife-thick tension saturated the chamber, radiating entirely from Gina's annoyed glower at Hesabeth! She hadn't overlooked how Hesabeth had whisked Jason from her side for that entire week, and though Gina recognized the substantial gains from her training during his absence, that hardly meant she'd forgive Hesabeth's actions! As Jason and Gina entered, Hesabeth's gaze first drifted to Jason, where she smiled seeing his intrigued expression. He'd activated [King’s Substitute] to ditch Hesabeth and hasten to Arandelle, leaving him to puzzle over her scheme in arriving here. Hesabeth shifted her attention from Jason to Gina, inwardly sighing at the rage burning in Gina's eyes.
’This is going to be harder than I anticipated.’
That notion flashed through Hesabeth’s mind, prompting a brief frown before she composed herself with a calm sigh. She snapped her fan closed and strode forward to stand directly before Jason. Placing the fan's tip against his chest, she voiced her irritation.
"You abandoned me on Merivo’s Paradise."
"I think abandon is a pretty strong word. It’s not like we agreed to leave together."
Hesabeth pouted in response, huffing lightly as she declared.
"You will pay for such insolence, but for now, I shall overlook it since there are other, more important things I must attend to."
After uttering those words, Hesabeth finally regarded Gina, meeting the taller woman's intense glare. Though Gina's narrowed eyes held no terror for Hesabeth, she understood the need to soothe Gina for any real discussion. Turning fully toward Gina, Hesabeth proposed.
"I’d like to talk to you, in private."
Surprise creased Gina’s brow slightly, and she glanced at Jason, who mirrored her astonishment while eyeing Hesabeth. Clearly, Jason was equally baffled by Hesabeth's ploy, but Gina refused to indulge it. She pivoted away from Hesabeth and replied curtly.
"No."
Hesabeth's expression twisted into a scowl as the floor beneath her trembled! How dare Gina reject her! This marked the first occasion Hesabeth had requested anything so courteously, yet Gina spurned her!
"Hesabeth."
Jason’s commanding voice sliced through Hesabeth’s fury, drawing her gaze to his stern frown. She pouted at his evident displeasure, then relented with a sigh and faced Gina once more. The plea that followed demanded every ounce of her restraint!
"I’d like to talk to you in private... please."
It seemed like the end of the world had arrived. Farlow and Jason stared at Hesabeth as though she had sprouted a second head, while even Gina spun toward her with utter shock plastered across her face! They simply couldn't believe their eyes! This was that arrogant Hesabeth who insulted everyone, even the mightiest figures in this domain! The very Hesabeth who would rather let the world crumble to ashes than tolerate anyone looking down on her! Yet, right there, she was pleading with the word 'please'. The astonishment of hearing 'please' escape Hesabeth's lips stunned Gina into silence for several tense seconds, and from the expression on Hesabeth's face alone, Gina realized this was an excruciating ordeal for the haughty woman. Going against her instincts, Gina chose to listen to what Hesabeth had to offer. If Hesabeth was this desperate to talk that she'd say 'please', Gina understood it must be something vital. She turned to Jason and connected through their mental link.
"Babe, I'll go check what Hesabeth wants. I'll return shortly."
Jason responded with a curious hum and questioned Gina if she was certain.
’You don’t have to go if you don’t want to.’
Gina simply smiled and assured him she was sure, so Jason nodded, leaned in, and planted a gentle kiss on her lips before she pivoted and headed out of the meeting room. Hesabeth shot Jason a complex glance from the side, offered him a smile, then trailed after Gina. Jason observed them depart for a moment before shaking his head. He held no fears about Hesabeth harming Gina, knowing full well that despite her unpredictable nature, Hesabeth valued him—and that ensured she wouldn't touch those dear to him. As Farlow spoke up, Jason turned toward him.
"Please leave us."
Farlow had been speaking with Leona, who lingered by the door for whatever reason, and she nodded swiftly before exiting to give them privacy. With her gone, Farlow beckoned Jason to sit, and Jason took a seat on one of the chairs along the left of the long table. His gaze drifted to the crystal ball, eyebrow arching as he inquired what it was.
"It’s a communication device between members of the Council. You should be getting one as well if you join us."
Jason ignored the final remark entirely, glancing aside as a panel popped up in his system.

Heart of the Crystal Giant
Rank: TITAN Rank II
Durability: 97%
Boosts: Nil
Description: A unique Artefact that can only be retrieved from the dead body of the Crystal Giant found in the Sunken Lava Pits in a Rank III world known as Garav. The Crystal Giants are known to communicate with one another using a special frequency that cannot be tracked or tapped into by any regular or magical device, and that characteristic can also be found in the crystal ball retrieved from their hearts. Although their location and strength are very well known, the Heart of the Crystal Giant is considered one of the rarest Artefacts to acquire since there is a special set of conditions that must be strictly met for the artefact to form. If the Heart is not harvested during the very brief window when the conditions are met, then it will take centuries before another heart can be retrieved.
