Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 752: Bargaining With A Spirit
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
A vast lake stretched along one edge of the clearing, with a grassy expanse lying opposite it. On the eastern side, away from where Gina and Farlow had entered, towered a massive tree bearing odd silver fruits. Oddly, even with the sun blazing overhead, utter darkness shrouded the tree's surroundings, while sunlight gleamed off the fruits, making them sparkle like glistening raindrops. This marked the Moon Dew Fruit Tree. Farlow drew a deep breath and advanced toward it. The tree lay just a hundred meters distant, yet in that instant, it seemed like an endless mile to him! He arrived at the tree unharmed, glancing around to spot numerous glowing orbs swirling agitatedly nearby, emitting bell-like tinkles. These were spirits from their prior battles, shadowing them persistently; though furious, they posed no threat, so Farlow simply ascended and snatched a fruit from the branches.
Tremble~!
The shadowy tree quivered violently as if struck by a blade, sending a jolt through Farlow as the whole area trembled! Swiftly, he grabbed another fruit just before the tree uprooted itself, balancing on roots that acted like legs! It shot Farlow and Gina an irritated glare, then spun around and dashed into the woods! Farlow had no clue of its destination, but he figured it would return in time, by which point the Valkan would've reformed its physical form to resume guarding the spot. None of that concerned Farlow now—he'd secured the vital fruits! He gazed at the hefty fruits clutched in his palm! Each dwarfed his hand twice over, shaped like silvery teardrops from the heavens. Farlow descended to Gina's waiting spot, noticing her gaze fixed on a cave across the lake. Much like the one at the Lake of Remembrance, Farlow knew it must connect to the Queen of Wind Spirits too.
Farlow drifted down to Gina, cradling the fruits like priceless treasures, pausing briefly before passing them to her. The Spirit Queen had tasked Gina specifically, so only she could deliver them and fulfill the quest. Gina accepted with a warm smile, and without a word from Farlow, she nodded.
"I’ll make sure everything goes well. I promise."
Farlow exhaled shakily, nodding at last as he watched Gina soar toward the cave. He settled by the expansive lake, waiting patiently for her return.
Gina crossed to the lake's far shore, heading into the cave, but upon entering a specific zone, her spirit detached, leaving her body to collapse. She glanced back at her limp form with mild worry, then shrugged it off. Fortunately, the Moon Dew fruits accompanied her spirit inside, so she pressed on, guided by the luminous orbs to the depths. This cavern mirrored the one from the Lake of Remembrance perfectly, leaving Gina to ponder if all paths to the Spirit Queen followed suit. Did countless caves dot the Primordial Expanse, all funneling to this realm? Such masterful Space manipulation magic!
Entering the inner chamber, Gina noted the glowing orbs multiplying, some dancing around her playfully and drawing smiles. The spirits eyed the Moon Dew fruits eagerly, but Gina kept them safe until she arrived at the Spirit Queen's repose.
’So you managed to complete the task after all. How admirable.’
The Spirit Queen’s melodic voice resounded in the cave, prompting Gina's bow as a grand blue flower unfurled to unveil the stunning Queen. Still in the Elven Queen’s form, she drifted from her bloom, materializing before Gina with a beaming smile upon spotting the duo of fruits!
’You even got two of them! That’s simply wonderful! Here, hand them over.’
The Spirit Queen extended her hand for the fruits, yet Gina paused before offering just one. Grinning broadly, the Queen seized the radiant fruit, nuzzling it against her cheek like a newfound gem! She reached for the second, but furrowed her brow in surprise as Gina retreated, prompting narrowed eyes.
’What is the meaning of this?’
The Queen teetered on the edge of fury, and Gina hastened to explain.
"I know I may be overstepping my boundaries here, but before I give you the second fruit, I wish for you to please return the spirit of the Elven Queen."
Gina bowed deeply, and the Queen pondered her plea with a hum. This was precisely why Gina had Farlow fetch two fruits rather than one. Long puzzled why the Spirit Queen didn't harvest them herself—clearly surpassing the Valkan in power—Gina now grasped it after witnessing the tree and the spirits' behavior. Spirits couldn't pluck these fruits! They'd dangled untouched in the woods, ignored by all spirits, even those encircling Gina en route. Thus, only mortals could deliver them to spirits.
Gina lacked deep insight into the Spirit Queen, but recognized her playful mischief in seizing a mortal's spirit for amusement, breeding doubt in full trust. So, Gina opted to withhold the second fruit as leverage until her demand was met. The Spirit Queen approached, glaring irritably as she spoke.
’Are you truly trying to bargain with me, child?’
