Gina honed her new Sage abilities under Farlow's guidance, growing irritated with her uncooperative spirit partner Ulyn, whose refusal stalled her Spirit Arts progress at 2%. Tracking ambient Spirit Energy deep into the forest after easily dispatching S-to-SSS-rank monsters, they discussed the varied forms of nature spirits. A massive TITAN-rank Wind Snake Spirit ambushed them, and after Farlow created an opening, Gina severed its head with a powerful wind blade.

Gina glanced back at the serpent, seeing it erupt into a burst of pale blue motes. Those motes converged to create a compact azure sphere that rapidly shot away from the combat zone and vanished into the woods. What the heck was that?

"That is the spirit’s true form. Spirits are creatures that cannot die, so whenever their mortal body is killed, they return to their true form until they can form a new mortal body for themselves. It should take a few decades before we see the giant snake again."

Farlow approached Gina from across the battlefield while offering his explanation, and she nodded thoughtfully, grasping it fully! She'd worried the snake might revive right away, but Farlow's reassurance washed relief over her! The nightmare of every forest spirit proving truly immortal and respawning instantly would make this mission hellish beyond imagination! A shiver ran through Gina before she forcefully dismissed those dark ideas! She refused to entertain such thoughts!

Gina and Farlow pressed on through the forest, encountering several more spirit beasts along the way, yet they dispatched them effortlessly with the tactic that felled the snake. Farlow served as the front-line warrior, pulling the beast's focus, while Gina circled behind for the fatal strike! The forest teemed with diverse spirit beasts—bears, lions, massive falcons, and even a tree-shaped spirit that lashed at them with branches and roots! As they neared the forest's heart, the sun had dipped below the horizon, plunging everything into darkness, so Farlow proposed they camp for the night to recharge for tomorrow's clash. Gina consented, and they discovered a modest clearing ringed by trees, perfect for pitching their tent.

With spirits lurking throughout the forest, Farlow and Gina remained vigilant against ambushes, but for now, they sat by the campfire savoring the tranquil evening. The dense tree canopy overhead blocked the stars, yet Gina paid it no mind as her thoughts drifted back to Jason. Just one more day until his seclusion ended, and a surge of thrill flooded her chest! She couldn't recall the last time she'd been parted from Jason this long, lately realizing her heavy reliance on him. Whether face-to-face or linked mentally, they stayed inseparable always. Though others might gripe about such attachment, Gina embraced it fully. Her world orbiting Jason gave her direction and kept her priorities crystal clear. This brief week's absence had nearly driven her insane! Tomorrow, she'd unleash everything to slay that forest spirit fast and rush to Jason's side!

"I can feel your excitement bleeding out from you. You must really miss your beloved."

Gina turned to Farlow across the flames, her cheeks tinting pink at his perceptive grin. He simply grinned wider at her flush, then gazed into the fire with a distant expression as he continued speaking.

"I understand how you feel, actually. In truth, all of this still feels very unreal. I had already given up hope on ever getting my wife back, but now I feel like I have her at my fingertips. All I need to do is stretch out my hands and get through tomorrow, then my greatest wish will be fulfilled. I don’t know if I can thank you enough."

A soft sigh escaped Farlow as his smile grew broader. He recognized that bringing Gina here and guiding her so closely stemmed from debts owed to the Marc family. Jason's father, Richard, had rescued Arandelle in their hour of need long ago, earning Farlow's eternal loyalty to the Marcs. Yet after truly knowing her, Gina transcended mere guest status for him. She felt like his own daughter now, and he beamed with pride at her achievements here. Gina offered Farlow a warm smile in response.

"It’s alright, your Majesty. You did a lot for me, too, so let’s just say that we’re even."

Farlow chuckled lightly at her words, amused. If she equated saving his wife with his provision of refuge, her notion of 'even' needed adjusting. Still, knowing her kindness, he let it slide without remark. Suddenly, Gina arched an eyebrow at his laugh and probed what amused him. As he prodded the fire with a stick, Farlow replied.

"I’m just a little awed by the Marc family. In truth, I have met three generations of Marcs. Jason’s grandfather was my father’s best friend, and he took my aunt as one of his wives. Then Richard Marc, Jason’s father, was someone I would consider a friend and benefactor. And then there is Jason himself. They are all great men, but they all had a roguishness to them that I just could never understand. Like they were born to live in caves, and instead they were forced to live in houses. I apologise if you find that offensive."

Expecting offense, Farlow faced Gina with a gentle smile, but she saw no issue in his words and burst into delighted laughter at the accuracy! Jason truly seemed out of place in the modern world! Gina bet he'd thrive far more in the stone age!

At last, Gina's mirth subsided, allowing Farlow to finish his thought.

"Yes, so the Marc men have always been roguish, and yet for some reason, they manage to find the most extraordinary women to take as their wives. Women with hearts of gold who fit the title of Queen better than anyone else. I am truly happy that you and Jason found each other, Gina. I know you love Jason with all your heart, and I encourage you to hold tight to that love. I can tell you from experience that no woman chosen by a Marc has ever regretted loving them."

Gina's face flushed crimson, and she bashfully lowered her gaze amid Farlow's lavish praise! She wouldn't deny moments of awe upon uncovering more of Jason's storied lineage.
