Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 728: You’re Becoming Bolder
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
Jason perceived various strikes converging upon him from every direction, yet he ignored defensive maneuvers, prioritizing only the avoidance of the incoming spear. Since the spear’s unique trait, [You Shall Not Miss], had already locked onto him, Jason focused his efforts on overwhelming the mana within the weapon to negate its effect. Eventually, detecting a dip in the spear’s power, he twisted his body and redirected the shaft, forcing it to collide violently with the earth.
KA-BOOOM!!
A massive detonation erupted, annihilating the surrounding landscape as the spear discharged all its contained mana. Jason vaulted into the air, sensing his subordinates scramble to shield themselves from the blast. Realizing the confrontation had dragged on far too long, he withdrew his second hand from his pocket, interlacing his fingers and summoning both of his distinct powers simultaneously.
[The User is attempting to combine two major power sources]
[The combination of Qi and Mana is considered detrimental to the body of any mage.]
[The user has bypassed the warnings]
[The user has achieved Resonance]
Shine!
A brilliant, tiny blue spark, smaller than a pinhead, manifested between his palms. Jason turned his gaze to Hesabeth and his subordinates, warning them, "I suggest you retreat as far as possible immediately. This technique possesses enough force to slay even someone of my level, so I have no clue what impact it might have on you."
The blue particle drifted through the air like a delicate snowflake, and as it traveled, the world seemingly plunged into a profound silence, bracing for the inevitable. Observing Jason’s subordinates fleeing in panic, Hesabeth hummed, fully invoking her Bias to construct a defensive barrier; she had no intention of facing this head-on.
[Absolute Resonance: 1%]
As the spark touched the rocky ground, it vanished, and an instant later, Merivo’s Paradise disintegrated.
KA-BOOOM!!!
This was no localized explosion. It was a total, omnidirectional wave of devastation that swept across the entire world, erasing everything in its path. Their residence was pulverized, their picnic site reduced to dust, and the distant lake evaporated before the soil itself was overturned and scorched by infernal flames. This assault represented a mere 1% of the total potential of his Resonance. Yet, that solitary fragment of power was sufficient to shatter a world spanning the magnitude of a Rank II realm in the Primordial Expanse. Jason realized that if he had unleashed such a strike back on Earth, at least one entire continent would have been wiped from the map.
Surveying the wreckage as the dust began to settle, Jason noted that all his subordinates had fallen, triggered by the multiple system notifications alerting him to the mana consumption required to resurrect them within his Alternate Dimension. He sent a silent apology to the ones visibly suffering, receiving reassurances that they were fine in response. His eyes shifted to Hesabeth; he sighed, seeing her standing unscathed. Although her dragon mount had been incinerated, she had deployed a passive shield from a ring. That protection granted her just enough time to seize the [Spear of Heaven], invoking its innate defensive properties to withstand the blast.
’How could she have known the spear possessed defensive utility? I never informed her. There is no plausible way she blocked an attack of this magnitude with her own mana. This has to be her Bias in action again, doesn’t it?’
As if she could intercept his very thoughts, Hesabeth turned to him with a smug, knowing grin. Jason scoffed in amusement as he floated back down to earth. He had long since learned not to question the anomalies caused by her Bias, deciding to simply add this to the list. Landing near her, he noticed her expression turn slightly irritated before she addressed him: "Could you not have restrained yourself just a little with that final blow? You are aware this landscape won’t recover until sunrise, correct? Where are we supposed to sleep?"
Blinking in mild surprise, Jason offered a sheepish smile and looked toward the sky. "Well, the stars are particularly radiant tonight. Taking shelter under the open sky isn’t such a terrible fate."
Hesabeth sighed, burying her face in her hands. Did he truly believe a Queen of her stature would sleep on the bare ground like a commoner? He was becoming far too arrogant! "You have grown significantly braver since I confessed my love for you. Do not lose sight of the fact that I remain a Queen, and I expect to be treated with proper deference."
She glared at him with faux indignation, and Jason struggled to hide his grin as he caught a faint blush on her cheeks. He nodded serenely and answered with genuine sincerity, "My apologies, Your Majesty. I will keep that in mind."
The flush on Hesabeth’s cheeks deepened, though she merely huffed, turned away, and began signaling her dwarf servants. She issued instructions for them to carve out a sleeping area, while Jason watched, only to be interrupted by a system chime.
[The user’s subordinate [Gina Fey] has successfully reached the Hierarchy Limit and requires Upgrade Points in order to pass into the next rank.]
[The user’s subordinate [Gina Fey] has begun the process to achieve [True Sagehood]]
[The user’s subordinate [Gina Fey] has begun the process to acquire the [Spirit Arts]]
Surprised, Jason pondered exactly what kind of trials Gina was currently undergoing.
....
[The world of Arandelle]
[Within the Lake of Remembrance]
[A Few Minutes Earlier]
Gina felt beads of sweat rolling down her skin, her breath coming in ragged gasps. She had been in deep meditation for five hours, sensing a palpable shift in the air. After four days of relentless training, her attunement to the world surrounding her had surpassed everything she had ever known. She had not only mastered the art of reading the wind but had also learned to isolate her consciousness entirely, diving deep into meditative introspection. At this very moment, she searched the depths of her mind, desperate for an answer to the question that haunted her: What would she become if Jason were to perish this very instant?
