Azrael raised his magical staff from behind Hesabeth, instantly plunging the sky into darkness with an impending spell. A hulking man, possessing the distinct heritage of a Dragonborn, stood nearby; Hesabeth watched as he unsheathed a longsword and surged forward, accompanied by several other swordsmen, to assault Jason!
ROARRRR!!!
BZTTT!!
High above, hundreds of massive dragons materialized from thin air, drenching Jason in torrents of fire. Simultaneously, the dark clouds summoned by Azrael crackled with energy, discharging a lethal bolt of lightning directly at him. Yet, amidst the chaos, Jason didn't shift his position at all! He remained completely nonchalant, keeping his hands tucked firmly in his pockets, a faint smirk playing on his lips as he allowed the fire and lightning to collide with him.
BOOM!
The force of the impact resulted in a massive explosion, yet Jason held his ground, utterly unfazed! He spun around and casually raised a hand to parry a sword strike from the Sovereign; the sheer intensity of the impact caused the very air to rip apart. Jason didn't so much as flinch, effortlessly dodging three additional strikes converging from different angles. He leaped backward just as a sharp, piercing screech erupted from above, followed milliseconds later by an sonic blast slamming into his former location.
SCREEECHHH!!
The shockwave decimated the battlefield. Within his consciousness, Jason could feel Arcticus begging to be released from the Alternate Dimension to join the fray, but Jason forbade it, ordering the creature to remain patient. With Hesabeth present, unleashing Arcticus’s full power would surely draw undue attention back to the region, and he wouldn't risk her safety.
'Speaking of Hesabeth... where exactly did she vanish to?'
Phwoom!
Jason lacked the leisure to track her, as he noticed a brilliant light erupting on the horizon: his Bishops were assembling in perfect formation. Aiming their combined might at him, they launched a collective [Mana Blast]. Glancing down, Jason noticed thick vines coiling around his ankles as his Dryad subordinate attempted to anchor him. Though he could have easily evaded the strike, he was curious to measure just how much devastation such firepower could inflict upon his body. A widening grin stretched across his face as he stood still, anticipating the collision.
KA-BOOOM!!
The impact shook the world to its very core, the ensuing shockwave intensifying the storm raging in the heavens above. Recognizing that the King was immune to anything less, Azrael raised his staff, channeling enough mana for his most catastrophic spell. Jason’s laughter rang out across the plains as he emerged, unscathed, from the dense dust cloud left by the Bishops’ assault. Not a scratch marred his skin, and Azrael lost no time, activating a colossal rune etched into the earth.
DOON!
Jason cast his gaze downward as the ground beneath him began to emit a vivid purple glow; thunder roared in the distance as Azrael invoked his TITAN-level technique.
[Wrath of The Shattered Sky]!
TOON!
Abruptly, streams of brilliant purple light plummeted from the sky, hammering the earth around Jason like relentless rain. Even Jason could sense the terrifying potency contained within each beam, acknowledging that any single one would have easily annihilated a TITAN Rank I cultivator. Nonetheless, he treated the incoming barrage as trivial, simply sauntering through the downpour of pure energy. Ragnar emerged nearby, opening its maw with a deafening growl—a magical circle materialized, flashing red before erupting in a blast of searing fire.
BOOM!
Ragnar’s attack struck toward Jason like a bullet of flame, possessing enough force to scour a small world clean! Yet, as the beams struck, Jason batted them away; they careened off into the distance, detonating in a colossal fireball that sent shockwaves rippling for miles. Trigon followed suit, attempting the same maneuver, as the dragons in the sky joined in, hoping to inflict even the slightest harm upon their King. Still cloaked by the roaring inferno of their combined power, the subordinates could hear their King’s low, mocking laugh as he endured the full brunt of their assault.
Watching from atop a dragon, Hesabeth observed Jason’s subordinates exhausting every ounce of their strength; she could only shake her head in sheer disbelief as his laughter echoed through the air.
'I understood he was strong, but this is ridiculous. He’s a total monster.'
She couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement, witnessing Jason tanking everything his subordinates threw at him as if it were a light breeze. She had been searching for a momentary lapse in his defense to deploy the [Spear of Heaven], but Jason remained completely invulnerable. Even as he paced around with his hands in his pockets, her instincts warned her that the instant she channeled mana into the spear, he would detect her location and deflect it with ease. She furrowed her brows as she watched Jason reach into his Alternate Dimension, pulling out a plain, nondescript sword. It bore a striking resemblance to the weapons wielded by the dragonborn soldiers of Radagan, and she wondered what he possibly hoped to achieve with such a modest blade.
Without warning, Jason swiveled and launched the sword directly at her with one fluid motion! Her eyes widened in alarm. That bastard!
"Move!"
ROARRR!
The dragon beneath her banked sharply to evade the flying blade, and Hesabeth seized the opportunity, commanding the beast to unleash its deadliest attack. The dragon released a torrent of fire toward Jason while Hesabeth pulled her arm back, funneling every spare drop of mana into the spear. She fully expected Jason to attempt a retreat, but he didn't even acknowledge the threat—and that nonchalance ignited her ire.
'Let’s see if that smug smile holds up after this!'
KA-TOOOM!!
Hesabeth hurled the spear like a javelin; mid-flight, it transformed into a focused beam of light, striking like the judgment of the heavens themselves! Jason felt his heart skip a beat; as the spear neared, he realized it carried more power than any SS Ranker should theoretically be capable of producing.
'Did the world imbue her throw with extra power? Seriously, no matter how often I see it, her 'Bias' is just broken.'
Jason realized he couldn't afford to be careless against this strike, as the world had tuned it specifically to be capable of harming him. He drew one hand from his pocket, extending it forward as he materialized a surge of magic that swaddled his form like a defensive barrier.
BOOM!
The spear slammed into his mana shield with immeasurable force, the weapon vibrating violently as it strove to puncture the barrier.
