Jason and Riyala share an intimate moment by a lake, culminating in passionate lovemaking. Afterward, they enjoy a peaceful interlude with their dragon companions. As the sun sets, Riyala reveals to Jason that she is pregnant, a fact she confirmed after missing her 'moonblood' cycle.

There was a sudden jolt of excitement that filled Jason’s entire body at that moment, and Jason’s face brightened in a way that Riyala had never seen before! Riyala felt her cheeks growing even redder when she saw the happy expression on his face, and she cried out in shock as Jason stood up and swept her off her feet without any warning at all!

"That’s Amazing, Riyala!"

Jason yelled in excitement as he spun Riyala around, and Riyala laughed happily as she held Jason’s shoulder!

The dragons around Jason and Riyala only watched them with curious expressions on their faces, and Riyala’s protector dragon blew some hot air towards Jason to tell him to be careful with their priestess before turning away. Jason finally stopped spinning Riyala around, and he held her in his arms and looked up at her with a wide smile.

"I’m so happy, Riyala. This is amazing."

Jason held Riyala close as he said this, and Riyala’s cheeks reddened even more as she leaned forward and kissed Jason. Riyala had been a little shy to tell Jason about this because she knew that there was already a lot of responsibility on Jason’s shoulders right now, and she didn’t want to make him start worrying about this child as well while he was thinking about all those things. But with the amount of happiness Riyala could see on Jason’s face right now, Riyala knew that she had made the right choice by telling Jason about this pregnancy!

When they broke the kiss, Jason asked Riyala how long she had before she had to give birth, and Jason was shocked when Riyala said it would take about two more years!

"Really?"

Jason’s brow furrowed, and Riyala laughed when she saw this.

"Yes, we Dragonborn have very long gestation periods. I don’t know exactly when it’ll come, but I know it will be in my third year of pregnancy."

Jason hummed calmly as he finally understood, and he gained a worried expression on his face as he sat down with Riyala on his lap before saying:

"Do you think it’s a good idea to continue your duty as a priestess while you’re like this? Do you want to take some time off until after?"

Riyala shook her head immediately.

"No, there’s no need for that. I plan to go into the Dragon Nest during my third year so I can give birth, but it’s safe to keep working until then."

Jason tilted his head to one side and asked what the hell the Dragon Nest was, and Jason reminded Riyala so much of a confused puppy in that moment that Riyala couldn’t help but reach forward and ruffle Jason’s hair with both her hands as she explained.

The Dragon Nest was a traditional piece of land that every major family within Radagan possessed. It was seen as a sacred area that could only be accessed by dragonborn females, and during the time a female was meant to give birth, she would go into the Dragon Nest with other females from her family, and the females would help her through her labour. Since Riyala used to be a member of the royal family and she was now the priestess, she was entitled to make use of the royal Dragon Nest, so that is where Riyala would go once she was ready to give birth!

Jason let out a short huff once he heard this as he pulled Riyala in and hugged her to his chest for a long time. At that moment, Jason couldn’t help but feel another surge of hesitation go through him. Jason knew that this mission was very important and it might help him to end the Court of Apostles before they could go ahead with whatever plans they had, but Jason couldn’t help but feel like he would be missing out on a lot if he went on this mission. Two of Jason’s wives were now pregnant, and Jason wouldn’t be there for them to depend on him.

’I need to deal with this as quickly as possible. Even if I can’t end it before Gina gives birth, I need to end it before Riyala gives birth. I can’t let these bastards ruin what we’ve built.’

"Don’t worry, baby. We’ll be here waiting for you. Don’t worry about a thing and just focus on ending this madness once and for all."

Riyala was able to immediately figure out what Jason was thinking about, and she spoke up in a loving, reassuring voice. Jason felt an intense appreciation pour out for his youngest wife, and he let out another long breath before pulling Riyala even closer! Jason knew it wouldn’t be easy, but he was going to deal with this as quickly as possible!

....

[The Edge of The First Domain]

After his meeting with Riyala, Jason finally went to say goodbye to Hesabeth before leaving. Hesabeth had been in the middle of a meeting with the leaders of her Elder worlds when Jason appeared from the shadows, and Hesabeth had immediately told everybody to get out since she wanted to speak to Jason alone. The meeting had been short and emotional, and just like his other girls, Hesabeth made him promise to come back soon. There was a warning in Hesabeth’s voice while she was saying this, and Jason knew that if he didn’t listen to her and come back quickly, she would leave her duties behind and come after him wherever he was! Jason promised to finish as quickly as possible, and then he moved on to the edge of the first domain where Stella and Valeria were already waiting for him.

In a world called Ful’hana in the first domain, there was a massive city called the Den of Thieves, and this city was occupied by only mercenaries. Although the city was known as the Den of Thieves, there was a law within this city that every single person existing within it had absolute immunity from any sort of crime that they had committed. This meant that no matter how twisted or evil a person was, the moment they found their way into the Den of Thieves, they were allowed to live within this city without fear of being arrested or attacked.

The city was not as developed as most modern cities around the Primordial Expanse. There were no skyscrapers, and the highest building was a three-story stone building that sat in the middle of the city and acted as the home for the city mayor! Most of the buildings in the city were made from clay or brick, and there were colourful clothes and tarps that were used as either shades or roofing to cover the people inside the buildings.

Just like any regular city, the Den of Thieves had a market district where multiple people could be seen moving around as they bought and sold various wares. There was a residential area where shady adults and untrustworthy mages could be seen moving around with suspicious looks on their faces. Since everyone here was either a mercenary or a criminal, there was no way to know who to trust, and so everyone moved with an air of distrust around them!

There was also a red light district on one side of the city where extremely beautiful women could be seen standing on corners and calling on various criminals to come and have fun with them. This was where you would find most of the people who came to this city, but there was one other place that was visited even more than the red-light district, and that was the Tavern!
