Jason trains rigorously, sharing intimate moments with Gina and Agiel. Later, at dinner, Jason discusses current affairs with Cerci and Juliet. They address the growing number of superhuman children and the challenges in accommodating them. Juliet reveals her insecurities about not being chosen by Jason, while also updating him on EDF operations, including a land dispute resolution and Francis's proximity to Janet.

"The EDF has been going well, but there have been some issues with the Aqualith business lately. Some of the worlds in other domains are complaining that their overlords are hiking the prices excessively. We are still selling at the fixed market price, but some worlds are buying it at two or even three times the market price."

Jason was a little surprised by this, and it didn’t take long for Jason to realise that this problem had to be coming from the fifth domain under Val’kat. That fucking goblin was so greedy that Jason was sure he was hiking the prices just to try and squeeze as much value out of the crystal as possible. Jason knew that it wasn’t really his business what happened in the other domains. They already paid Jason his money, so they were allowed to sell for any price they wanted, but Jason couldn’t just ignore it since his stepmother lived in the fifth domain as well.

"Send a message to Val’kat and tell him to cap the retail price at double the wholesale value. If he doesn’t do that, I’ll cut off his supply. His greed is becoming sickening."

Juliet nodded immediately, and she made a note on her phone to send the message later. Once Jason was done talking to Juliet, he finally turned to Cerci and asked him how things were going with the Northern Alliance Academy. Since Gaia had already been studying superhumans and trying to figure out how to increase the power level of humans, Jason had sent the Gaia scientists to the Northern Alliance Academy and told them to work with the researchers there to advance their craft.

The benefits for those scientists were obvious, and it allowed them to improve their own research a lot, and now the Northern Alliance Academy also had more people to help them carry out their research.

Cerci spoke up while cutting a steak on his plate.

"We’ve managed to synthesize more than three thousand Mortal Severance Pills from the corpses you provided, and although it has been providing suitable results, I think we can take things even further. I was speaking to the head of the academy, Jaen, the other day, and I told him that it must be possible to increase the power output of the pills. He’s currently working on it with some of our best scientists."

Jason hummed in understanding, and he told Cerci that this was good. Jason was honestly glad that he had people who could handle the minor tasks around the world for him even though he wasn’t present. Now that Jason was going to be leaving for the Uncharted Zone, Jason would need them to work even harder than before.

"I plan to leave for the Uncharted Zone sometime in the next few days. I shouldn’t be gone for more than a few months, but while I’m gone, you’ll have help from my subordinates, and Gina will be responsible for handling any major decisions that you can’t get by me. I’m trusting you both to keep the world running even in my absence. I hope I can count on you."

Both Cerci and Juliet nodded immediately! Both of them have already been running these large organisations for a long time now, so they were sure it wouldn’t be difficult to keep things running properly even without Jason being there.

"I only ask that you be careful. I have heard about the Uncharted Zone from some of the wanderers that entered our world, and they all speak of that place like it’s hell on Earth. Apparently, it is filled with every form of evil individual imaginable."

Cerci said this with a small frown. Even though Cerci didn’t show his emotions often, Cerci had grown fond of Jason, and Cerci knew that it was very rare to find a man with a lot of power like Jason who remained good. If Cerci had a choice, he would tell Jason not to go anywhere and to continue ruling Earth so that he remained safe. But Cerci knew that Jason was free to do whatever he wanted. The only thing Cerci could do was to advise him to be careful.

Jason hummed calmly, and he told Cerci that he already knew all about this. Jason had spoken to Valeria a lot about the Uncharted Zone in the past few days, and he had already made plans for where he would be going first and which organisations or monsters he would be taking care of.

"And besides, it’s not like I’ll be alone. I’ll have Stella with me."

Stella stood straighter at the side with a serious look on her face, but it was obvious that she was excited. Agiel pouted slightly at the side, but she eventually calmed down again since she knew that this was for the best. Agiel had a lot of responsibilities that she had to deal with both here on Earth and in her world, and Agiel knew that postponing it for too long wasn’t good. Jason promised to take Agiel along with him when he came back in a few months, and Agiel was okay with staying back for now.

"And don’t forget Valeria too."

Gina spoke up from the side while biting into her food, and Jason hummed as he remembered.

"That’s true. Where the hell is Valeria anyway?"

Jason’s sister had been staying with him in the mansion since she didn’t have any money to go anywhere else. Valeria had already made Jason promise to take her along to the Uncharted Zone, and Jason had agreed because Valeria knew a lot about that part of the world. But Valeria had barely shown up more than two or three times in the one week since Jason came back. It was as though she only showed up occasionally to steal a lot of food from the kitchen, and then she would vanish into the woods!

"Madam Valeria is training on the Eastern Axis of the mansion, master. I’ve been keeping an eye on her with a familiar in case she needs any aid."

Jason hummed in appreciation, and he told Stella to keep up the good work. Valeria was someone who enjoyed being alone, so Jason wasn’t going to force Valeria to get along with the family unless she wanted to.

Cerci was glad when he heard that Jason would be taking people with him. At least there would be someone other than his subordinates watching his back. The one thing Cerci worried about regarding Jason was that there was no one around him who could act as a moral compass. Cerci knew that it was almost impossible to corrupt Jason since Jason was a very independent person, but even still, Cerci believed it was necessary to have someone beside you that could tell you if you were going too far in the wrong direction.

Jason’s subordinates were good company, but they couldn’t talk back or refuse Jason’s orders, so Jason needed to have someone with an independent mind of their own to make sure he didn’t lose himself.

The rest of the dinner went by very quickly, and eventually, both Cerci and Juliet said their goodbyes as they headed back home.

....

[A Few Days Later]

[The Night Before Jason’s Departure]

Jason was leaning on the balcony outside his bedroom and watching the moon shining down on his estate. Over the past few days, Jason had been getting everything ready for when he would leave. Most of Jason’s day was still filled with him trying to perfect his Resonance, and now, Jason was sure that he would reach 40% Resonance and stay there for more than thirty seconds before he would suffer any serious consequences. Stella had been going around packing all the clothes and equipment that they would need, and Valeria was still as reclusive as ever.
