Harold departs Earth to pursue his mission, leaving Jason behind. Valeria watches Harold's departure with indifference, prompting Jason to reflect on her reserved nature. Harold reveals to Jason that Valeria trusts him deeply, a rare occurrence for her. Harold then shares his plan to investigate Gregory in the second domain, suspecting him of ambushing Mik'hael. He gives Jason a teleportation ring for communication and emergencies, demonstrating their brotherhood.

Harold shook his head.

"I can’t believe how versatile this power of yours is. I think I can understand why Gregory is so pissed at Father for giving it to you now. If someone like Gregory had this power, the Primordial Expanse would’ve fallen a long time ago."

Harold and Jason both laughed softly, and Harold put his hand out for a handshake.

"Alright, I guess this is till next time."

Jason took the hand in a strong grip, and Harold was stunned as Jason pulled Harold forward into a hug! Jason pat Harold on the back roughly, and he spoke in a low, gruff voice.

"Take care of yourself, brother. I’ll be waiting to hear from you again."

Harold hesitated for a few seconds. This was the first time in years that he would hug anyone, and it was the first time any of his brothers would talk to him with so much emotion in his voice. The Marc brothers weren’t known to be close. Since all the brothers knew that they could become contenders for the throne at any moment, there was an invisible wall standing between many of them that prevented them from being very close. But the moment Harold heard the term ’brother’ from Jason, it was as if all those walls just came crumbling down. Harold let out a long sigh, and he finally surrendered into Jason’s hug! Harold hugged Jason back properly and patted Jason’s back before speaking.

"Take care of yourself as well, brother. And there’s no need to worry about me. I’ll be back soon."

Jason nodded, and the two men separated before Jason put his hand out and opened the Dimensional Tear. Since Earth was covered by the anti-travel rune, Harold couldn’t open a Dimensional Tear himself, so Harold would have to go to the world parallel to Earth first before he could begin his journey. Harold glanced up to see if Valeria was still on the balcony, but she wasn’t there, and Harold just said one final goodbye to Jason before he left Earth and continued his journey.

In just this short conversation, Harold had become far closer to Jason than any of his other siblings, and Harold finally realised exactly what it was that their father had seen in Jason that made their father give Jason this power. Harold knew without a doubt that Jason would make a good King.

....

Things were very peaceful in the Marc household over the next few days. Now that the threat of the Celestial of Death was practically over, most of Jason’s extended family had returned to their own cities to try and reorganise their lives after the sudden evacuations. There were billions of people all over the world who were still waiting for actual news about the Celestial of Death, but the leaders of most cities already knew that Jason had struck a deal with the Celestial of Death, and they were getting ready for things to go back to normal soon.

"Do we really have to go? I want to play more with Stella."

Gina’s cousin, Fio, was not happy about leaving the Marc household so soon! In the time since she came here, Fio had become an unofficial apprentice to Stella, and she had been learning the Avaran swordplay directly from her. Although Fio wasn’t a superhuman, she had a lot of potential with the sword, and after seeing Stella train multiple times, Fio had joined Stella to try and learn how to use the sword. It was obvious that Fio would never be able to fight against superhumans or monsters with what she had learned, but the sword skills were still going to prove useful against regular humans!

Stella had been about to teach Fio one of the secret techniques of the Avaran Army, and that was why Fio didn’t want to leave just yet! But Bett was not having any of that, and she told Fio that she was coming home to help them reorganise things together! Fio could come back some other time and continue her training after everything finally settled!

Fio was not happy about this, but she eventually accepted her mother’s orders since Bett was too scary for anyone to disobey. The other cousins of Gina had been far more agreeable, and they had just said a normal goodbye, and they left with their family.

Before long, it was only Valeria, Agiel, and Jason’s main family left in the mansion. Agiel had stayed in bed for almost two whole days before she started moving again, and Mira had made it her personal responsibility to feed Agiel as much as possible to bring her back to full health! Mira had spoken to Agiel a lot about what happened during their encounter with the Celestial of Death, and Mira got Agiel to tell her everything about their meeting with Death! Agiel could see the way Mira’s face scrunched up in worry when she heard about all this, but Mira never interrupted Agiel until she was done with everything. Once Agiel was done narrating everything, Mira finally let out a breath and asked Agiel.

"You’re really in love with my son, aren’t you?"

Agiel blushed immediately, but Agiel did her best to control herself, and she nodded. Agiel knew that Mira was one of the most important people in Jason’s life, and if Agiel wanted to really join the family, then she would need Mira’s blessing! Since Jason already had multiple wives, Agiel knew that Mira wasn’t against having more than one daughter-in-law, and the only thing Agiel had to worry about was whether or not Mira liked her!

Mira, on the other hand, was asking herself what in the world she would do about that boy Jason! Jason already had three beautiful wives, and he was still bringing home more women! Mira didn’t even know how to tell Jason to stop because Jason was always bringing back such wonderful women that would make great daughters-in-law! Just look at Agiel; she was extraordinarily beautiful, and her manners were perfect as well! There was no way Mira could refuse to allow someone like this to join their family!

Mira let out a sigh, and she made up her mind to pull Jason’s ear later for seducing another girl before Mira reached out and took Agiel’s hand seriously.

"I am not against your union with my son, Agiel. You seem like a wonderful woman. But I want you to promise me something. Jason is living a very dangerous life. He’s going up against monsters and creatures that I cannot even imagine. There are many things that I cannot do for him, and I always worry about him. I want you to promise to take care of my boy. Protect him from danger and make sure he comes home safe every time. Can you do that for me?"

Agiel looked into Mira’s eyes, and in them Agiel saw more worry and concern than she had ever seen in her life! Agiel always knew that Jason was loved by the people around him, and Agiel had seen many people worry about Jason before, but at this moment, Agiel was realising that there was nothing in the world that could compare to the worry that a mother always had for their child!

Agiel squeezed Mira’s hand softly before she nodded seriously!

"I’ll protect him no matter what. Even if I have to risk my own life. I swear it."

That was all Agiel had said, and Mira smiled and hugged Agiel while welcoming her into the family!
