Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1106: A Prideful Cat

Later that night, Jason and Harold were standing outside the large mansion together. Jason had his hands folded across his chest, and he watched Harold strap his backpack properly as Harold prepared to leave. Harold had come to Jason a few minutes ago and told him that he was planning to leave Earth to continue his personal mission across the Primordial Expanse. Although Harold had put his mission on hold to warn Jason and the others about the Celestial of Death and help them in taking care of it, there was still a lot that Harold had to do out there. Harold snapped his bag buckle around his chest, and he stuffed his hands into his coat pocket before he turned to Jason as Jason spoke up.
"Do you really have to leave this soon? Your wound might be healed, but you were really injured. It might be best for you to rest for a few more days."
Jason had a frown on his face as he said this, but Harold just shook his head. Harold had already wasted too much time in his sickbed, and the only reason Harold didn’t leave in the past month was because he wanted to make sure that Jason came out safely from that Celestial Cloud first. Jason hummed while turning to glance at the mansion, and he saw Valeria sitting on the balcony high above them and watching with an indifferent look in her eyes. Valeria hadn’t come down to say goodbye, and Jason could tell that Valeria wasn’t bothered that Harold was leaving.
"She’s used to saying goodbye to people, so don’t worry about it. You have to let go of most sentiments when you live as a mercenary since you never know what could happen tomorrow."
Harold said this when he noticed where Jason was looking, and Harold waved up at Valeria with a small smile. Valeria narrowed her eyes at Harold before turning away and entering the house, and Jason just huffed in amusement! Valeria was so shy about talking to people that Jason couldn’t help but feel like he had a prideful cat living in his house!
"She really trusts you, you know."
Harold suddenly spoke up, and Jason turned to him and raised a curious brow. Harold gestured with his chin towards the balcony where Valeria had been, and he continued.
"I’m talking about Valeria. It’s almost insane to see the way she interacts with you. I’ve known her for more than a hundred years, and I still can’t have a proper conversation with her without it ending in a fight, but she’s only known you for a few weeks, and she already listens to you without being difficult. The only other person that she was this close to was Dad a long time ago, but that ended after her mother was attacked. She never gave any of her other siblings a chance to get close. So you must be special to her."
Jason huffed in slight amusement and spoke sarcastically.
"I’m sure she just wants me to pay off her gambling debts."
Both brothers laughed lightly at this, and Harold shook his head.
"Maybe she does, or maybe she sees you as someone she can rely on. I don’t know what it is, but promise me you’ll look after her. She’s a bit difficult, but she’s my sister. I want her to be happy."
"She’s my sister too, you know. Of course I’ll look after her."
Harold nodded with a smile when Jason said this, and the two brothers finally went back to their earlier conversation.
"So where do you plan to go now?"
Jason asked this calmly, and Harold raised a brow.
"Do you really need me to tell you? You’re going to put your subordinates in my shadow to track me, aren’t you?"
Jason smiled at Harold! Harold was far too smart for his own good! Most people had no idea that Jason was capable of putting his subordinates in their shadows to track them, but Harold was able to figure it out in almost no time.
’I guess he’s not a genius for nothing.’
Jason just shrugged and told Harold to humor him with the information, and Harold finally explained.
"I’ll be heading towards the second domain. I need to figure out what Gregory is up to. There was news that the brother of Overlord Rak’hael was recently injured by a mysterious mage, something about an ambush on an Angel battalion. I know how strong Mik’hael is, and I can count on one hand the number of people that can put him in a coma in that part of the Primordial Expanse, with fingers left over."
"You think Gregory did it?"
"Almost certainly. I don’t know the exact reason, but I think Gregory didn’t like the Angels sniffing around in that part of the Primordial Expanse. There’s something going on there, and I might be able to find some clues about Gregory’s plans if I go there."
"Isn’t that dangerous? I don’t mean to insult you, but you’re not exactly a powerhouse that can fight off the monsters you’ll see there. What will you do if you run into Gregory?"
Harold chuckled in amusement when he heard this, and Harold knew that Jason was right! When it came to power, he was one of the weakest of all his siblings! But that didn’t mean he didn’t have his own way of surviving.
"You don’t need to worry about me. I was only injured before because I was caught off guard while taking an alternate route. Now that I know the King’s Guard are trying to kill me, I won’t be so careless. Here, take this."
Harold held out a ring towards Jason, and Jason raised a curious brow before speaking up in a sarcastic tone.
"I don’t really swing that way, so I’m going to have to turn down the proposal."
Harold cringed hard at the horrible joke before he clicked his tongue in annoyance.
"Don’t be weird, you little bastard. You’re not even my type. This is a teleportation ring. It should allow you to travel to my location instantaneously. I have the other one, and it doubles as a communication device. So if I ever need you to come help me out, then I’ll call. You can do the same for me."
Jason was honestly surprised when he heard this. To a lot of people, this act might look like Harold was simply trying to have one more layer of protection in case he ever got in trouble, but the fact that Harold was giving Jason something this important meant that Harold believed in Jason enough to know that Jason would come to Harold’s aid if Harold ever needed help, and Harold was willing to leave anything that he was doing and come to help Jason if Jason ever called on him! It was a layer of trust that showed how close the two brothers had become, and Jason couldn’t help but smile as he took the ring and spoke:
"I don’t really need it to reach you, but I’ll hold onto it in case you need to come to me quickly."
Harold raised a brow when he heard Jason say this, but it only took a few seconds for Harold to realise exactly what Jason meant! Jason could teleport to his location.
’Did he put a teleportation rune on me? No, that’s not possible. I checked my body for hidden runes, and there’s nothing. That means it’s not on me. It’s on something close by. Oh... the subordinates.’
Harold quickly figured out how Jason was going to teleport to him without the ring, and Harold shook his head.
