Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1075: In Another World

"You’ll have to go alone from here on. My place is here in the mindscape. But I hope I see you again."

Jason reached out and stroked little Agiel’s head when she said this, and little Agiel pressed her head against Jason’s hand with a content smile on her face as Jason spoke.

"Of course you’ll see me again. I promise."

Agiel smiled, and she jumped forward and gave Jason a deep hug! Jason held her close as she buried her face in his neck, and Jason watched as she slowly vanished into a spray of silver dust that scattered into the air. Jason felt a sadness take root in his heart as he watched the little girl leave, but Jason knew that this was not the true Agiel. This was just a fragment of Agiel’s mind that had been formed from her memories, so there was no need for Jason to feel sad!

Jason stood, and he tested the door in front of him. The handle shifted once Jason touched it, and Jason let out a calm breath before Jason pushed it open and entered!

Jason appeared in the middle of a massive ballroom with hundreds of people around him! There was slow music playing from an unknown place, with a large chandelier hanging from the ceiling and shining a dim silver light down on the ballroom. The entire room looked like something fit for royalty! Jason blinked in shock. Jason didn’t remember entering the room or walking to the center of the dance floor, but as Jason looked around, he could see people surrounding him as men and women danced in pairs. Jason looked down at himself, and he saw that his clothes had also changed. Jason was now dressed in a sharp-looking black suit that was perfect for an event like this.

Jason looked up, and he immediately locked eyes with someone on the other side of the hall. Agiel was dressed in a beautiful white ballgown that made her look like a queen! Her white hair flowed down her shoulders like a river of snow, and the diamond jewelry on her neck reflected the silver light brilliantly!

For a single moment, Jason felt his heart skip a beat! Jason didn’t understand what was going on around him at all. The royal ball and the clothes they wore didn’t seem like something either of them would ever put on, but for some reason, this moment just felt perfect for them. And as Jason thought about it more, Jason suddenly hummed calmly as he realised what this was! This was an alternate future. This was how they would’ve met if things had gone the way they were meant to.

If Avaran hadn’t been attacked by the Primordials, and if Jadar hadn’t suffered from a Civil War, then Jason would’ve been a Prince and Agiel would’ve been a princess, and they would’ve met at a royal ball just like this one. Jason felt a strange delight growing in his heart, and he smiled softly as Agiel finally walked over to him with calm strides. None of the dancers around dared to go close to Agiel, and it didn’t take long before Jason and Agiel were standing together in the middle of the ballroom.

"Hey."

This was the first thing Jason said, and Jason watched Agiel’s lips split into a beautiful smile as she said:

"Hey."

Agiel dusted her gown a little in nervousness before speaking again:

"You took a long time to get here. But that’s alright... You look very dashing."

Jason nodded with a small chuckle.

"Yes, I suppose I took quite a long time. Sorry about that. And thank you for the compliment. You look very beautiful."

Agiel’s cheeks reddened slightly when she heard this, but she did her best to remain calm as she answered:

"It’s fine. You’re here now; that’s what matters."

Agiel’s smile changed to a look of contentment as she said this, and there was so much emotion present in her eyes in that moment that Jason found himself looking away a few seconds later. Jason looked around at all the people dancing before he asked.

"Do you enjoy dancing?"

Agiel smiled shyly.

"I might not act like it, but I am still a princess, you know. I adore dancing. When I was little, I would have my governess teach me all the steps, and we would sway around the courtroom. I would step on her feet quite a lot, but she never complained."

Jason smiled softly when he saw the sadness in Agiel’s eyes. It was obvious that her governess was already dead. Jason put a hand out to Agiel and grinned.

"Well then. Would you do me the honor of a dance?"

Agiel’s smile widened until it nearly split her face in two as a surge of happiness flowed through her, and she did her best to control her expression before she finally curtsied to Jason. Jason bowed calmly in return before putting his hand out to her. Agiel’s gloved hand landed in Jason’s palm, and Jason pulled her close to his chest before the both of them joined the crowd and began to dance.

It was a slow, easy dance that didn’t require any effort, and both of them simply swayed around the room with the other dancers. Jason had no idea where the music was coming from, but he felt like it was perfect. Jason placed his hand on Agiel’s waist to guide her across the floor, and Agiel shivered under Jason’s hold as her cheeks turned slightly red! Agiel glanced up at Jason’s face for a moment, and she felt her face grow hot when she saw the confident smile on his face! Agiel quickly looked away again and stared at Jason’s chest. There were no words spoken between them for the first few minutes, and it wasn’t until much later that Agiel finally spoke up:

"I didn’t know you could dance."

Jason huffed before speaking calmly.

"I have enough power to eradicate entire worlds, Agiel. Dancing is nothing."

Agiel chuckled in amusement and pressed her forehead on Jason’s chest before taking in a shuddering breath.

"I’m sorry, Jason."

Jason hummed as Agiel said this, and he spoke while swaying Agiel to the side.

"What for?"

"For almost giving this bond to someone else."

"You don’t have anything to be sorry for –"

"Yes, I do."

Agiel cut Jason off immediately, and the both of them stopped moving as Agiel looked up at Jason.

"I was... I was pushed into a corner, and I didn’t know what to do. I should’ve said something to you sooner, but I just kept testing you. I was stupid."

"No, you weren’t. You did what you thought was right for your people. Anyone would do the same in your shoes. Besides, you’re not the only one at fault. I shouldn’t have neglected you so much."

Jason smiled down at Agiel with a look of understanding, and Agiel couldn’t stop her heart from racing when she saw the look on his face. Agiel’s face heated up so much that she was sure she looked like a tomato, and Agiel had to struggle not to hide again. Agiel swallowed slightly before she spoke in a soft voice.

"W-What about you, Jason? What do you... What do you think of this bond?"

Agiel still didn’t know how Jason felt about all of this. Even though Jason had come here to stop the wedding, there was a chance that he was only doing it because he thought he owed her. Agiel didn’t want to think that this entire moment was only happening because Jason felt bad for her.

Jason hummed calmly, and he led her into the gentle dance once again as he said:

"I think it’s complicated. I won’t lie to you, Agiel; I still can’t say if I love you or not. But I can’t deny that I care about you. You’ve snuck your way into my heart without me noticing, and when I think about you getting married to someone else... I don’t like it. So maybe this is love, or maybe I’m just being selfish..."

Jason finished his words in a low, calm voice that showed just how complicated his emotions were, but none of that seemed to bother Agiel at all!
