Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1037: The Pathway of Death
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
Once, long before the Primordial Wars and the Period of Lawlessness, the Celestial of Death had suddenly appeared in the Primordial Domain! It had first been discovered in the first domain, and it moved like a thief in the night and passed over multiple worlds in its pilgrimage across the Primordial Expanse! Hundreds of billions of lives were lost as a result of this pilgrimage! Every world that was unfortunate enough to fall in the Celestial’s way ended up getting eradicated by the Celestial, with nothing left! Even to this day, there are thousands of worlds that are still completely inhospitable due to damage done by the Celestial of Death!
But although Kalum didn’t know all the details, the Celestial had been captured in a battle known as the Great Celestial Hunt a millennium ago, and it was sealed behind an eternal prison that was built to prevent it from ever escaping! Even after the beast was sealed, it took millennia for the Primordial Expanse to fully heal! Some people believed that the one responsible for sealing the beast was the Avaran King, Richard Marc, along with a few of his allies, while others believed that it was the great Celestial of Order, C’thlyanu, who had defeated death! But regardless of who was responsible for it, the Primordial Expanse found peace again after the Celestial of Death was captured! The key to that seal holding the Celestial of Death had been thrown into the depths of an eternal abyss, and the location of the key was a well-guarded secret between the elite mages of that time!
But it appears that someone had been foolish enough to actually retrieve that key, and now they had unleashed death upon them all!
Kalum looked down at the reports on his desk with narrowed eyes! The one good thing about the Celestial of Death was the fact that it was known to always pass through the Primordial Expanse in a perfectly straight line! Since there was nothing that could stop it, it simply moved straight and eradicated everything in its path no matter what! And from what Kalum could see in these reports, it was obvious that the Celestial was going to pass over the Eastern Corridor, through the Western Corridor, and then break out into the Eighth Domain!
Even if it was impossible to stop it, the best thing that they could do now was to alert everyone around that region of their domain as well as the rest of the Primordial Expanse of what was coming!
Kalum looked around at all the stunned faces in the room, and he barked out in a loud voice!
"Get on your feet, men! This is not the time to wallow in misery! Go and do as I told you to! Prepare the transport vehicles and send out evacuation teams to every world along the eastern and western corridor! We cannot save everyone, so prioritize those who are more important! Cerasa, send out a message to the overlords of the other domains and let them know what is going on! Death will not stop for anyone, and it will be at their doors soon! Go!"
The entire room immediately scrambled to motion once the Overlord shouted at them, and they quickly got to their feet and began heading out to do as they were told! The Overlord turned to look at Varon beside him, and he gave the young man a nod before speaking.
"You have done well bringing me this information, young man; you will be rewarded for your diligence. In the meantime, go and continue receiving the reports. If there are any changes to Death’s movements, then let me know at once!"
Varon nodded seriously and saluted before he quickly ran out of the room to go and do as he was told! Kalum looked down at the book on his table once again with a troubled expression on his face, and he couldn’t help the shuddering breath that escaped him!
"Spirits help us. If I find whoever is responsible for this..."
Kalum grit his teeth angrily, and he slammed his hand into his table, but he turned sharply as his secretary came towards him from the side.
"Sir, I have the leaders of our Elder Worlds in the communication sequence. They are waiting to speak to you about -"
Another person also ran into the room before the secretary could finish, and he spoke up with an anxious look on his face!
"Lord Kalum! You have a call on the Crystal Ball! It’s from Lord C’thlyanu!"
Kalum immediately frowned when he heard the new message, and it didn’t take a genius to figure out that this call from C’thlyanu was about the recent disaster approaching them! Kalum was already prepared to do everything he could to preserve the lives of the people in his domain, but Kalum couldn’t help but wish that C’thlyanu would have some sort of solution to return Death back into its seal before things got any worse! Kalum let out a harsh breath as he steeled himself in preparation before he left his desk and began heading out!
Kalum hoped that things worked out fine in the end, but if they managed to survive this disaster and they successfully sealed the beast back in its cage, then Kalum would find out who was responsible for this later, and he would make it his life’s mission to kill them!
....
All across the Primordial Expanse, the strongest creatures in existence had already begun to migrate out of the path of the Celestial of Death! The power of a celestial was far beyond what any mortal could feel, and even the Primordial-level mages were incapable of feeling the power, but the fact that Death was not a creature that attacked actively meant that any creature that was fast enough would be able to escape from Death’s path before it reached them!
The weaker creatures still did not know what was coming for them, but the more powerful creatures in the Titan and PRIMORDIAL Ranks immediately abandoned their worlds the moment they saw Death approaching! The Celestial of Death wasn’t a physical being that could be stopped using force! Strength, artefacts, runes, all of these things were rendered useless in front of the celestial’s power! No matter how powerful you are, so long as Death’s aura washes over you, you would also end up getting killed by it, so the best thing any powerful mage could do was to simply move out of its way!
Creatures from worlds all across the Ninth Domain had begun to move, and there was a massive shift of power in these worlds as a majority of the powerful creatures gathered themselves in the few worlds outside of Death’s reach!
From the analysis carried out by the Surveyors of the Ninth Domain, they had been able to predict the most likely path Death would take on its straight journey through the Primordial Expanse. Death was expected to leave the Ninth Domain and move through the Eighth Domain under the Vampire Queen Lamina, the Fifth Domain under the Goblin King Val’kat, the Third Domain under the Elven King Farlow, the Seventh Domain under Queen Hesabeth, and finally the Sixth Domain under Lord Jason! The shifts in power were expected to also take place across all these domains as the most powerful mages abandoned their worlds, but the number of weaker mages left behind would still be astronomical, and if Death was allowed to move without any restraints, then the death toll was expected to be near the trillions!
