Strongest Necromancer System Chapter 1012: The Continent of Yang
Previously on Strongest Necromancer System...
On Yang, there were three cultivation sects that ruled the entire continent. The first was the Sakura Blossom Sect, which was made up of a peaceful group of monk-like cultivators. This sect had been founded by a woman who did not believe in violence, so their doctrine was to never involve themselves in pointless battles! But even with this doctrine, they were still one of the most powerful sects in this world, and they possessed more than enough techniques to fight back against anyone threatening to invade them!
The second sect was the Demonic Sect that lived for violence. The Demonic Sect took pleasure in invading and plundering from the other sects, and this was how they made most of their money! This sect was made up of some of the most twisted murderers and assassins, and it was said that the Demonic Sect was so evil that just living around them would corrupt your Qi until you eventually became just as twisted and demonic as them!
And finally, the third sect and the most powerful of the three was the Eastern Mountain Sect. This was a sect that prided itself on seclusion. Unlike the other two sects that involved themselves in matters around the continent, the Eastern Mountain Sect didn’t see any point in getting involved in things that did not concern them, and they spent all their time in the mountains training and nurturing their Qi!
There was once a time when people believed that the Eastern Mountain Sect refused to get involved in public matters because they were weak, but all of their rumors were immediately thrown away when the Demonic Sect attempted to take over the Eastern Mountain Sect with a sudden attack. On that day, only one hundred members of the Eastern Mountain Sect easily repelled an attack from hundreds of thousands of Demonic Sect members!
That had been the most embarrassing moment in the Demonic Sect’s history, and the humiliation made the Demonic Sect resent the Eastern Mountain Sect from that moment onwards! But the Eastern Mountain Sect didn’t care, and they simply continued to live in peaceful seclusion.
’But all that changed when the Primordials attacked.’
Esdath had been narrating the story to Jason all this time, and Jason listened calmly while riding over a massive forest on Ragnar’s back. Stella was sitting behind Jason, and she had her hand around his waist as they flew towards the main continent of Yang, where the Eastern Mountain Sect was located. Jason and Stella had returned to their regular appearance at this time since they were no longer in any danger of being recognized, but they were both wearing matching black cloaks with hoods drawn over their heads to prevent people from seeing their faces. Jason narrowed his eyes and asked Esdath what the Primordials did, and Esdath continued the story.
’The Primordials’ arrival wasn’t a surprise for us. This was during the period of lawlessness, so we already understood that the entire Primordial Expanse was at war. We heard about a Primordial race of giants attacking a few worlds close to Diran, so we started to get ready in case they came to us. The Eastern Mountain Sect recalled all its members and trained harder than ever. We set up defences and tried to form a last stand in case our world was attacked. But the other cultivators in the Eastern Mountain Sect thought that we were being foolish. The Eastern Mountain Sect sent an offer to the other two sects, asking them to join forces so we could fight back together, but they obviously refused...
’The other sects were too focused on their hatred for each other that they didn’t see the danger that was coming for us. The Primordials came like lightning in the storm. They destroyed our continent faster than we could even try to defend against it, and there was only one sect capable of withstanding their power alone. The Eastern Mountain Sect protected their mountains bravely, and we pushed back the Primordials, but the other sects were not so lucky. Many of them were eradicated in the fight, and there is barely anything left of them even now.’
For the first time in a while, Jason could sense that Esdath was being absolutely serious. That attack must’ve really affected him! Jason looked ahead as they flew over the forest, and he saw that they were approaching a massive city in the distance. There were buildings and massive towers scattered across the landscape, and Jason ordered Ragnar to fly over the city so he could take a look. Ragnar roared loudly as he shifted his path to the side and headed towards the city!
The city that they were heading towards now was around the same size as Riverdale back on Earth, and it belonged to a minor sect that wasn’t as large as the three main sects on this continent. It was known as the Red Lotus Sect, and it had thousands of people living in the sect city. Jason flew high enough above the city so that none would see them, and he watched the people on the ground curiously. Most of the people here wore long red robes, and they carried swords and other weapons on them as they moved around. Jason could sense a lot of Qi coming from their bodies, and Jason heard Esdath speak up.
’These small sects didn’t involve themselves in the fight against the Primordials, so a lot of them survived. If you travel north from here, you should see the ruins of the Demonic Sect. It’s a wasteland filled with beggars and thieves now, so you might not be interested. The Sakura Blossom Sect is towards the west, and the Eastern Mountain Sect is towards the east. Do you want to go and see them? They can serve as a warning of what the Primordials are actually capable of.’
Jason hummed as he realised that Esdath was right. Jason was curious about what exactly the Primordials could do to a city of superpowered beings, and so he diverted Ragnar’s flight and told Ragnar to head towards the Demonic Sect in the North. Ragnar beat his wings with a roar and took off, and many of the cultivators that had been moving around the streets in the Red Lotus Sect all looked up in shock as they wondered what that was! But Ragnar vanished before they could see him, and before long they returned to their regular activities.
Jason and Stella flew across the continent quickly, and they passed over three more small cities on their way to the Demonic Sect city. Finally, after more than thirty minutes of flight, they arrived at the edge of the Demonic city, and Jason felt his eyes widen in shock when he saw it! The entire city had been eradicated from the map! There were currently many small buildings and tents arranged around the city, and there were a few towers that looked like they were still in use, but other than that, the city had been completely annihilated! Massive craters and destroyed forests and mountains littered the horizon, and even though the battle had happened more than two hundred years ago, the land was still barren, and nothing was growing there.
Jason couldn’t really measure just how large this city was through his sight alone, but just from where he was flying, Jason knew that it would have to be the same size as the whole of America! A city this large, with so many powerful people being eradicated like this, told Jason that Earth wouldn’t have stood a chance if the Primordials managed to get into Earth the first time the Green Gate appeared! It felt like Jason was seeing a vision of what would’ve happened if Richard hadn’t gone to stop the Primordial and push it back.
