"OW! You animal! Jason, look what she did!"
Gina turned to Jason immediately while showing him her arm, and Hesabeth pointed a finger at Gina in annoyance!
"You certainly deserve it! You’re acting like a child!"
Gina stuck her tongue out at Hesabeth, and Hesabeth’s face reddened as she took a threatening step towards Gina! Gina quickly dived into Jason’s arms to hide, and Jason just chuckled at the exchange, and he massaged Gina’s reddening arm before telling the girls to play nice. Hesabeth huffed as she decided to listen to Jason, but Hesabeth glared at Gina to show that this wasn’t over! Gina just smiled playfully!
Hesabeth rolled her eyes, and she sat beside Jason and put her head on his shoulder.
"So, where are you heading off to, darling?"
Hesabeth asked, and Jason gently ran a hand across Riyala’s back as he told them where he was going. Jason had been putting off his trip to the Eastern Mountains for a long time now, but Jason knew that he needed to go there if he wanted to advance his Qi training.
"I’m on the edge of a breakthrough with Resonance. If I can raise my Qi Rank to the next level, I’ll be able to make the Resonance much stronger. But I need to go to Esdath’s homeworld to master a Qi technique first."
Riyala looked up at Jason curiously and asked.
"Isn’t Esdath that weird old man living in your head?"
Jason chuckled in amusement as Esdath shouted in anger that he wasn’t weird, and Jason nodded to Riyala’s question.
"Yeah, that’s him. He might be a weird old man, but he’s pretty useful sometimes. He’s the one overlooking my Qi training."
Riyala hummed before she nodded, and Gina asked the most important question.
"How long will you be gone?"
Jason scrunched his face in thought, and he considered everything Esdath had told him about this training before he answered.
"I should be back before next week. I only need to stay there for a few days to go through some sort of awakening, but once I do, I should be able to train anywhere I am. Don’t worry, babe. I’ll be back before you know it. And once I get back, we can have the wedding."
Gina smiled when she heard Jason say this, but then she looked at the two girls beside her and her expression soured slightly when she saw them giving her expectant looks. In truth, the three girls had spoken a lot about this wedding in the past few days since they came here, and Riyala and Hesabeth managed to get Gina to tell them how she really felt about getting married now! Gina still wanted to get married, but she did not want to do it right now while she was pregnant!
But Gina didn’t know how to say this to Jason! Gina was the one who had been pushing for the wedding to be held as quickly as possible, and Jason was just allowing her to do what she wanted. So Gina felt like it would be bad to tell Jason to postpone the wedding after pushing so much for it to be held now! But Riyala and Hesabeth had both warned Gina not to go ahead with the wedding unless she was sure that she wanted it now!
If Gina would prefer to have the wedding after she gives birth, then she needed to tell Jason about it as soon as possible!
Jason noticed the downcast expression on Gina’s face, and the looks the three girls were giving each other, and he asked them what was going on. Gina wrung her hands together, and she started.
"Uhm... I-"
"Oh, for goodness sake, Gina doesn’t want to get married until after she has the baby. We’ve been testing out our dresses for the wedding, and Gina isn’t happy because she looks fat in the wedding gown."
"Hesabeth!"
Gina turned to Hesabeth angrily, and Hesabeth shot right back at Gina!
"What!? It was obvious you were going to dance around it forever at this rate! You know Jason prefers straightforwardness!"
Gina put her hands on her face and sighed in exhaustion as she heard this! Gina couldn’t believe Hesabeth did that! Gina didn’t want Jason to know that she was postponing the wedding for such a silly reason! Jason would think she was ridiculous!
But Gina was surprised when she heard a deep chuckle coming from Jason, and she looked up to see Jason laughing lightly at the entire situation. Jason reached up and touched Gina’s cheek before asking her.
"You thought I’d be angry at you for telling me this?"
Gina’s cheeks reddened, and she bowed her head and nodded. But Jason just shook his head and spoke.
"Gina, this wedding is for both of us, not just for me. If you feel like you need to have the baby before we do it, then there’s no problem at all. As long as we eventually walk down that aisle together, I’ll wait for as long as you need me to. Okay?"
Gina looked at Jason in surprise when she heard this, and Gina didn’t know when tears gathered in her eyes! Gina quickly tried to clean her tears while cursing her pregnancy hormones, and Gina told Riyala and Hesabeth to shut up when they began to laugh at her! Gina launched herself forward and hugged Jason happily, and Jason chuckled as he rubbed her back softly.
But although the moment was a happy one, Jason could still sense the slight sadness flowing from Hesabeth and Riyala at that moment. Jason remembered that one of the things Gina made him promise at the start of this polygamous relationship was that she was the only one he would have an actual wedding with. Gina had been adamant about it, and Jason had agreed because he didn’t really care about marrying anyone other than Gina. If not for the fact that Riyala and Hesabeth convinced Gina to allow them to join the relationship, Jason would’ve been happy to be with only Gina for the rest of his life.
Even though they had all agreed to it, Jason could tell that neither Hesabeth nor Riyala were completely happy that they would never get to marry him the way Gina could. But Jason also knew that this was a very delicate situation that he had to balance properly. If Jason allowed the girls to just keep this envy inside of them, it might eventually grow into something that they would all regret in the future.
So Jason would keep an eye on all his girls and see how things progress. Gina was a lot closer to Hesabeth and Riyala than she had been when she agreed to allow them to join the relationship, so there was a chance Gina might eventually change her mind about them getting married, but Jason was not going to allow anyone to force her into something like that! If Jason learned that Gina still wanted to be his only wife, then Jason would have to talk to Hesabeth and Riyala to make them understand that this was how things had to be!
But for now, Jason didn’t have to worry about any of that until after he and Gina get married, since Jason knew none of the girls would try to marry him before Gina.
Riyala shifted around beside Jason and hugged him tighter, and Jason looked down curiously as Riyala muttered in a low, needy voice.
"I’ll miss you, baby."
