Step Aside, My CEO Ex-Husband! Chapter 1 Pregnancy 1

~3 minute read · 712 words

Hospital.

A throng of people, predominantly women, filled the fourth-floor hallway.

Some faces radiated joy, while others bore the marks of sorrow.

Emerging from the gynecology consultation room was a tall girl with a ponytail, her long hair cascading past her waist.

Her expression was profoundly complex, her gaze vacant as she moved.

Even when jostled, she registered nothing. She clutched a medical examination form.

She genuinely struggled to accept this outcome!

The doctor's words replayed endlessly in her mind.

"Congratulations, Miss Tian Xingyun, you have been pregnant for over a month now," the kindly, middle-aged female doctor announced with a smile.

"Doctor, you must be mistaken?" Tian Xingyun exclaimed, her voice edged with disbelief, questioning the doctor's statement.

How was it even possible for her to be pregnant?!

"Aren't you Tian Xingyun?" The female doctor peered at the name on the examination form, inquiring again.

"Yes, I am."

"Then there's no mistake; it clearly states your name here. You are indeed over a month pregnant."

"..."

Tian Xingyun's world imploded, as if struck by a colossal bomb!

How could she be pregnant? Could it be a consequence of that night over a month ago?

She wandered absently into the elevator, descended to the first floor, and exited the hospital.

Standing at the main entrance, she tilted her head back, gazing at the sky where the sunlight was intensely bright.

She desperately wished this was all a dream, then looked down at the examination form.

It unequivocally confirmed her reality, not a dream.

Oh heavens, let a thunderbolt strike her dead!

In her twenty-three years of existence, she had never had a boyfriend, nor had she ever been intimate with a man.

Yet, here she was, actually pregnant!

Moreover, she didn't even know the identity of the child's father.

The reason? A month prior, she had an accidental one-night stand with a complete stranger!

She had never envisioned herself engaging in such a reckless act.

She used to look down on such casual encounters, but now, she had become part of one.

And now she was pregnant; what was she to do? She hadn't even glimpsed the father's face!

So, what about this child...

As Tian Xingyun remained lost in her thoughts, several men clad in black suits and sunglasses materialized before her.

An elderly gentleman, radiating an aura of kindness, led the group.

"Excuse me, are you Miss Tian Xingyun?" the old gentleman inquired politely, a smile on his face.

"Yes, I am..." Tian Xingyun replied, startled, snapping out of her reverie to answer the elderly gentleman.

Observing the scene unfolding, she instinctively took a step backward and swallowed hard.

When did so many men in black suddenly appear before her?!

"Please come with us."

"What do you want?!" Tian Xingyun flinched and retreated, preparing to flee.

"Please do not be alarmed; we intend no harm," the old gentleman reassured, then raised a hand, signaling the bodyguards in black suits behind him.

The bodyguards acknowledged the signal and promptly stepped forward, taking Tian Xingyun by the arms and escorting her away.

"Hey~ let me go!"

"Miss Tian, please do not be afraid; we mean you no harm," the old gentleman repeated.

"..." Tian Xingyun rolled her eyes, inwardly scoffing at the notion of 'no harm.'

She decided it was pointless to resist further.

Her day had already been sufficiently unfortunate; she resolved to see what else these individuals had in store for her.

How much worse could things possibly get!

She was guided to a car, with bodyguards occupying the seats on either side of her.

After a drive of approximately fifteen minutes, the vehicle arrived at its destination.

The bodyguards disembarked and respectfully opened the car door for Tian Xingyun.

"Miss Tian, you may alight now." The old gentleman was already waiting beside the car door.

Tian Xingyun paused for a few seconds before slowly exiting the vehicle.

Her gaze fell upon the mansion before her, filling her with utter astonishment.

She had never anticipated encountering such an antiquated mansion, complete with two imposing stone lions carved at the entrance, exuding a fierce presence.
