True Thought Society members pleaded with Fang Cheng not to leave, with newcomers bowing and asking him to stay. Despite his protests that he wasn't their chairman, they insisted he remain as their honored guest, offering a banquet. Fang Cheng eventually agreed to stay for a meal and to explore the guild, though he reiterated that they should stop calling him chairman.

At noon, the sun was shining brightly.

From the dark, damp underground cave to the headquarters building of the True Thought Society, it was only a ten-minute walk.

Fang Cheng went directly to the VIP room on the top floor and had a refreshing hot shower to wash off the remnants of sea salt on his body.

The logistics department of the True Thought Society was highly efficient, not only clearing out unrelated people from this floor early on but also thoughtfully preparing a set of exquisite, well-tailored black linen casual clothes for him.

After changing clothes, Fang Cheng, led by the service personnel, arrived at the restaurant’s private dining room located on the west side of the building.

Pushing open the heavy double redwood doors of the private room, a faint scent of sandalwood wafted to his nose.

The spacious restaurant was covered with thick carpet, making almost no sound when stepped on.

Through the huge floor-to-ceiling windows, one could overlook the bustling street scenes of Yong’an Island below and glimpse the shimmering sea in the distance.

In the center of the room, there was a rosewood round table that could accommodate more than a dozen people.

Besides Zheng Hongxin and Chen Jiandong, three other people were standing by the table.

Seeing Fang Cheng enter the room, Zheng Hongxin immediately stepped forward, his face full of a hospitable smile, gesturing with his hand:

"Mr. Fang, this way, the main seat is reserved for you."

Fang Cheng was not polite and strode to the main seat, drew back the chair, and sat down calmly.

After he was seated, Zheng Hongxin and the others took their seats as well.

Zheng Hongxin sat on Fang Cheng’s right side, and Chen Jiandong sat on the left side.

Then, Zheng Hongxin pointed to the three unfamiliar faces opposite and introduced them one by one to Fang Cheng.

"Mr. Fang, these are core members of our society."

"This is Elder Feng Kehai, mainly responsible for our society’s financial operations and overseas asset management."

Fang Cheng looked up.

Feng Kehai was an elderly man with graying hair and a slender build.

He wore a traditional Chinese jacket with clasps, and a pair of retro round-framed gold glasses sat on his nose.

The eyes behind the lenses exuded a shrewdness and scrutiny unique to businessmen.

"Mr. Fang, such talent at a young age, a pleasure to meet you."

Feng Kehai nodded slightly, speaking in a courteous tone.

"This is the head of the Intelligence Department, Wu Yingshan."

Zheng Hongxin continued to introduce Fang Cheng.

Wu Yingshan was a still graceful middle-aged woman, wearing a high-necked dark purple cheongsam.

The high collar was fastened tightly around her neck, seemingly to conceal the scales that grew due to the backlash of her bloodline.

She flashed Fang Cheng a charming smile, her red lips slightly parted: "Hello, Mr. Fang."

"Lastly, this is Zhao Lei, the Hall Master of our Law Enforcement Hall. He is responsible for the security and disciplinary tasks at the headquarters, as well as external deterrence missions."

Zhao Lei was a brawny man with a shaved head.

He only wore a tight-fitting vest, and his thick arms were covered with knife scars, bulging with muscles.

His fierce appearance made him look like a beast ready to pounce and bite at any given moment.

"Greetings to Chairman Fang!"

Zhao Lei’s voice was booming, causing the ceramic tableware on the table to buzz.

Upon hearing this title, Fang Cheng turned to glance at Zheng Hongxin.

"Chairman Zheng, what did we agree on at the underground altar?"

Fang Cheng picked up a hot towel to wipe his hands, speaking in an indifferent tone:

"I said it before, you misunderstood; President Su did not pass on his position to me, so there’s no need to call me Chairman."

Zheng Hongxin’s face froze, then he raised his hand to pat his forehead, feigning a look of regret:

"Oh dear, my befuddled old brain! Zhao Lei, how are you speaking to Mr. Fang? Stick to the rules!"

Zhao Lei touched his bare head, grinned to reveal a mouthful of white teeth, but showed no sign of admitting any mistake, simply nodding perfunctorily.

Fang Cheng tossed the towel back onto the tray, his demeanor calm, fully aware of their tricks.

It was evident that they had communicated among themselves and made preparations before he arrived.

Though they seemed to agree readily on the surface, they had no intention of changing their address, clearly intending to subtly force the title of "Chairman" onto him.

Seeing the atmosphere turn awkward, Zheng Hongxin hurriedly smoothed things over, chatting about today’s fine weather and mentioning a few trivial matters about the society.

During the conversation, the side door of the private room opened.

Two rows of waiters dressed in uniforms filed in, carrying trays and began serving dishes like a flowing stream.

Steamed deep-sea grouper, charcoal-grilled palm-sized abalone, a platter of bluefin tuna sashimi shining with an oily luster, and braised sea cucumber.

There were also various rare ingredients with names one could not call to mind, quickly filling the enormous rotating table to the brim.

The rich aroma of spices mixed with the unique umami of seafood spread in the air, enticing one’s appetite.

Zheng Hongxin stood up and retrieved a vintage-looking green porcelain wine jar from the wine cabinet behind him.

He personally broke open the clay seal, and a peculiar aroma of wine immediately wafted out.

The scent carried both the rich depth of fermented grains and a crispness reminiscent of sea breezes brushing over reefs.

"Mr. Fang, have a taste of this."

Zheng Hongxin held the wine jar, and personally filled the glass in front of Fang Cheng.

The wine was not the usual transparent or pale yellow but an extremely translucent light cyan, casting a faint glow under the light.

"This wine is called ’Bichao Chun,’ a unique specialty of our Yong’an Island."

Zheng Hongxin set down the wine jar and introduced it with a smile:

"In its brewing process, apart from high-quality sorghum as the main ingredient, we specially added ’Silver Thread Algae,’ which only grows in the Changyuan Trench, as an auxiliary ingredient, then stored it at a constant temperature in an undersea cave for a full fifteen years."

"This wine is incredibly potent, not only does it promote blood circulation but also helps to some extent in suppressing the agitation of the bloodline within us mutants."
