The saintess defeats a soldier from the Kite Kingdom in a flashy display of power. Later, the two tournament favorites, Alidus and Lancelot, are drawn to face each other in the round of sixteen. A barrier is erected for their highly anticipated match, but instead of immediately fighting, they engage in a tense, silent battle of wills that leaves the crowd bewildered.

"They’re testing each other."

The ones in the crowd that could see through what was happening couldn’t take the comments from the ones that had no idea what they were looking at.

It was almost like having someone talking during the movies.

If there was someone that was going to talk, they would prefer that it was them since they would at least provide some valid commentary.

Which was why they started commenting on everything that was happening.

Every feint, every swing, every little thing was being reported on by them.

Though in most cases, they weren’t able to see most of what was happening.

The things that they were reporting were nothing more than simple tricks that anyone could have seen. The real moves that were hidden behind all of these simple ones were missed by most of the crowd.

It was only a few people that were able to catch it in the end.

But at the end of the day, it wasn’t as if they were actually doing anything since they were just testing each other out. It was more like they were actually sparring than compared to what had been happening during this tournament.

When they were done, it seemed like both of them were unsatisfied with what had happened.

"You pulled your punches?"

It seemed like that was what the two of them were thinking with the expressions that they revealed.

Both sides had indeed been pulling their punches to a certain extent since they had been both testing each other.

This was something that they both should have known, but surprisingly they were both unhappy because the other side had done this.

So in the end, that was why the two of them suddenly swung their weapons for real.

The moment that their relics collided, there was a powerful force that came from them.

The barrier was able to negate most of the force itself, but the pressure that this clash released was still passed onto the crowd. The moment that the crowd felt this pressure, they couldn’t even begin to imagine just what it would be like to stand in the center of this.

Even when they were feeling the residuals that came from the clash, it was still enough for many of the crowd to pass out. Though to be fair, most of the people in the crowd were just normal people that had never faced this kind of thing before.

Most of them couldn’t help quivering when they felt this kind of clash, it was completely different from the tournament they had been watching so far.

However, it didn’t mean that everyone was cowering because of this.

There were those that were inspired because of this clash.

Their eyes lit up with passion and ambition, as if they wanted to be the ones that were standing in the center right now.

In the end, the goal of those smaller countries had been accomplished with how these people had been inspired. In the future, there was no doubt that there would be more people that would want to try to claim a relic.

For the people that lived in those small countries, the best way to do so was to pledge themselves to the nobles of their country to obtain this chance.

Though whether they would be accepted or not, it would all depend on them.

It wasn’t as if the nobles would just accept anyone that applied, it would all depend on how hard they appealed themselves.

After that first clash, it was Alidus that was pushed back.

In their current state, it wasn’t as if Alidus could actually match Old Man Lancelot.

Alidus had shrunk down using the potion, so he no longer had the same pure brute strength that he had as a giant. He was still stronger than most people, but it was different for the battle hardened Old Man Lancelot.

When it came to Old Man Lancelot who had once been the greatest knight on the continent, it was only normal that he wouldn’t be able to match him in pure strength.

But that was only in pure strength.

The two of them really seemed like they wanted to take things slowly with the way that they fought, but that didn’t mean that they were satisfied with this alone. So in the end, they started ramping it up by using their divine energy relics.

Lightning came out of Old Man Lancelot’s sword while there were spirit forms that appeared around Alidus.

"So they’re finally taking it seriously." I wasn’t smiling as I said this, there was this bitter look that was on my face.

When they hadn’t been taking it seriously, it was easier for me.

But now that they were taking it seriously, it meant that I had to put in a bit more effort to maintain the barrier.

As they clashed more and more, I could feel the pressure that was mounting on the barrier.

It wasn’t as if it was a problem for me to maintain it, it was just that I had to actually focus on maintaining it now. I couldn’t just leave it as it was or else it might actually crack under the force of their clashes.

Still, seeing them like this, I couldn’t help shaking my head with a bitter smile, "At least they’re getting stronger. They shouldn’t have any problems taking down any of the Apostles of Destruction on their own."

After thinking about it, I had to admit, "They might even be able to take on the weaker members of the Four Omens."

It really was a testament of how hard these two had been training during this time.

Though I was also certain that they were still holding things back.

Even if they were excited about this tournament, it wasn’t as if they would lose their head.

After all, we had no idea where the forces of Destruction could be hiding and watching over us.

"Still, it seems like they’re having fun." I couldn’t help shaking my head again with the same bitter smile on it.
