"What do you mean there’s missing people?"

It certainly wasn’t a good sign if that was the first thing that was reported to us the moment that we arrived at this village. But since it wasn’t as if this was something that could be ignored since our goal was those people in the first place.

So in the end, we had no choice but to look into this matter as well.

Though when the report came back, I couldn’t help being surprised by what I saw.

"There are monsters? Are you certain of this?"

The ones that had gone out to scout out the situation only responded with firm nods.

It wasn’t as if I was doubting the reports that they brought back, it was just that this made things much more complicated. After all, monsters were still a problem for most normal people to deal with.

In our case, it wasn’t a problem that we could solve on our own.

We were just officials and not soldiers, so it wasn’t as if we were strong enough to take down the monsters on our own.

"Send a request for backup, this isn’t something that we can handle alone."

Then after a pause, I added, "There must be something else that we’ve missed. It isn’t as if monsters would just appear out of nowhere."

The others who heard this all nodded in agreement.

The ones that found all of this the most strange were the ones that had been sent out to scout the situation in the first place. Since they came back, they had this look on their face as if there was something wrong.

In that case, it was best if we followed our gut and saw this matter through to the end.

All of us were surprised by this report since we didn’t think that they would send a relic user. But in the end, it turned out that this relic user was one that had only recently obtained their relic.

It wasn’t one of the ones that had already been training with their relic for a long time, it was someone that was still learning how to use their relic properly.

When they were sending someone like this, it was clear what they were planning to do.

"They’re planning on training this new relic user..."

But there wasn’t anything that could be done since there was an official order that came with it. So the only thing that we could do was accept the order that came from the top and follow them.

However, it was hard to imagine just what a single relic user would be capable of.

Even if it was someone that was well trained on how to use the relics, it didn’t feel like they would be enough on their own. It really felt like there was more than just a single relic user that was needed.

"It’s completely wiped out?"

There was only shock that filled our group as we stared at the monster nest that was in front of us.

This was a nest that would have no doubt caused a lot of problems for any group of armed soldiers. Even if it was a group of knights, it would have been hard for them to clear it out.

But this relic user had only taken a few minutes to take care of this entire nest.

Though after taking care of it, they just described it as being lucky.

Seeing what happened, it was hard to describe it as just being lucky.

After all, this was a cave that was completely encased in ice.

It only took a single swing of their spear before ice started forming in the air. As the ice formed, it spread out across the cave and soon completely covered it without missing a single part of it.

The monsters that were inside couldn’t do anything against this ice since it was ice formed from divine energy. This was the most dense form of ice that one could create when it came to ice formed with an ability.

But since they were encased in ice like this, it wasn’t as if there was a need to do anything to clean it up. All that was needed was to let the monsters freeze to death inside of the ice.

It really was an efficient way of taking down monsters.

However, the one question that was on everyone’s mind was...

"Is this something that’s exclusive to this one relic user or is it something that could be done by all relic users?"

If it was something that could be done by all relic users, then it would become a problem in the future. After the war with the forces of Destruction was over, then it would become a matter of war between relic users.

After all, the power that the relic users demonstrated showed that they were on a completely different level from normal soldiers.

Every country will depend on their relic users in the future to establish dominance.

The ones that didn’t have any powerful relic users would no doubt fall behind because they wouldn’t have anything to defend themselves with.

"It seems like there will be a lot of things changing hands in the future."

But there was one thing that everyone was certain of, there was one person that no one could provoke since he was on a completely different level even when it came to relic users.

So at the very least, it seemed like the status quo would be kept for a certain period of time.

Putting that aside, we focused on something else.
