After gathering various representatives, Shota presented powerful divine relics. Despite initial failures by many strong individuals to connect with the relics, one cultivator with a special physique succeeded. This confirmed Shota's theory that cultivators could utilize divine energy relics, a crucial element for combating the forces of Destruction and uniting different factions.

"It seems like they’ve been holding back quite a few people." I couldn’t help shaking my head as I reviewed the reports that had been brought in front of me.

These were reports that came from the ones that had been sent out with relics to the different kingdoms of the racial alliance.

In the eyes of the racial alliance, these were the weaker divine energy relics that weren’t at the same level as the ones that had been used for the elites of the kingdoms and the sects.

But these were the divine energy relics that were being used for the true selection.

From the beginning, the only thing that really mattered was bringing these relics to the ones that were able to use them. It was why we had gone to these lengths to put on a show for the racial alliance.

Though the other part was the warning that I had issued to the kingdoms in the racial alliance.

If they were to keep playing their tricks, then it would be them that suffered when we sanctioned them.

It was one thing to play their tricks when we agreed to turn a blind eye, but it was a different thing when I directly called them out like that. So they had no choice but to allow even the common citizen to try connecting to the relic.

Though it wasn’t as if they couldn’t do anything after they had bonded to the relic.

However, it wasn’t as if we didn’t expect that as well.

Which was why there was something that was prepared just in case they did something like this. Even if they wanted to keep those relic users in their country, it would be hard with the offer that we gave them.

But in the end, it wasn’t as if everything was 100% effective in this world.

In the report, I could see the ones that had rejected our offer and wanted to work with their country.

Some of them had national pride and some of them were just in it for the money.

It didn’t matter what kind of reason they had for doing what they wanted to do, it wasn’t our place to stop them.

Still, there were quite a few relic users that were willing to follow the racial alliance in the end and that was all that mattered. Now it was all about bringing them back and having the current relic users train them in how to use their divine energy relics.

"Still, it seems like they suffered quite a bit of trouble. I’ll have to make it up to them later."

I couldn’t help shaking my head with a wry smile as I read the report once more.

...

"At least they’re willing to hear us out, but it’s clear that they’ve received instructions from the nobles."

Seeing the way that the villagers were acting, it was clear that they had received some kind of notification from the noble that ruled over them.

Though the better way to call this was that they had received a threat from that noble.

When it came to citizens like this, there really wasn’t anything that they could do against the orders of the nobles that held power over their life and death.

So instead of going to them, it seemed like we had to lay some kind of bait for the one that was trying to impede us. Only by taking care of those people would we be able to do what we came here to do.

It was just that this really wasn’t what we had planned for.

Still, this small matter was something that we could take care of as officials deployed from the Kite Kingdom.

"Go and lay the bait. We’ll pull the net in once we’ve drawn enough of them in."

...

"Do you know who we are? Do you really think that you’ll get away with something like this?"

Seeing the way that these guards were acting, I couldn’t help shaking my head at them.

"Do you really think that you’re convincing anyone? You already know what kind of trouble you’re in, so there’s nothing you can do other than hand over the names of the ones that told you to come."

The guards didn’t seem like they were going to fold under the threat that I posed, but it wasn’t as if that mattered since we had already caught them redhanded.

With the evidence that we had collected, it wasn’t as if they would be able to escape from this.

In fact, we were already planning on punishing them after catching them since that was the only way to make sure that we were able to finish what we came here to do.

Since they weren’t planning on saying anything, it didn’t seem like there was a choice.

"I guess we’ll have to resort to more desperate measures."

"What are you talking about?"

As the guard heard this, there was a shiver that ran down his spine that he just couldn’t stop.

...

"Are they really going to do it?"

"Those are the guards of the baron, how could they do that to them?"

"Why would they be afraid? They’re the envoys from the racial alliance, they have a much higher status."

When the villagers saw the guards being dragged in front of them all bound up, one could see the glow that had appeared in their eyes. This was the kind of glow that came from hope of something that they wished for actually happening.

It seemed like these guards had abused their privilege quite a bit and that had built up quite a bit of resentment in these villagers.

In that case, there really was no need to hold back with their punishment.

When it was all over, the villagers seemed much more willing to cooperate with us.

"This power, I’ve never felt anything like this before."

In the end, we were even able to find a relic user and complete our mission.
