Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2500: Higher order (1)

"What are the results?"
Even before asking this, I could already guess what they were based on the way that Max was acting.
In fact, it even seemed like he was in a much worse condition compared to before.
He should have been able to use much rougher methods that should have yielded some kind of results, but the look on his face really made it seem like he hadn’t found a single thing.
In fact, it really felt like Max was about to do something desperate with the way that he looked at the screens in front of him.
So instead of waiting for an answer, I pulled him away from the screen before he could actually do something.
When he saw me, his eyes suddenly lit up. It was just that the way that he looked at me with that glow in his eyes really wasn’t something that I wanted to see.
It really felt like there was something more that he wanted from me.
It even felt like he was about to strip me with the way that his eyes looked at me.
So in the end, I took a deep breath and said, "You haven’t had any results yet?"
That was enough to make that glow disappear for a moment before his eyes were filled with the same frustration as before. Then he turned around to open up the window to the experiment room and said, "See for yourself."
When I looked in, I saw that there were two different experiments being performed even though I had only given him a single piece of the stone shard.
Though it wasn’t as if I couldn’t figure out how he had cut the piece that had been given to him.
If there was one thing that Max had access to, it was divine energy.
There were many people that were interested in the research that he performed, which was why there were plenty of people that were willing to offer their divine energy to him.
But there was one thing to note about the divine energy that they offered.
It certainly wasn’t on the same level as the divine energy that I wielded.
There really wasn’t anyone that could release divine energy at the same level as me, so it meant that even regular divine energy was enough to cut this relic.
It seemed like the immortal energy really was on a lower level compared to the divine energy even though there was that familiar sensation that came from it. It seemed like in terms of concentration, the immortal energy really was lower than the divine energy.
Still, there was something about the immortal energy that allowed it to make the corruption energy disappear.
Other than this, it seemed like Max was actually afraid to do anything that was considered going too far for this piece of the stone shard. Even though he knew of a way of cutting it, it didn’t seem like he went further than this.
Even though he had been the one that had suggested destroying it in the first place.
But I could see that from the experiments that he did, it didn’t seem like they were that different from what he had done previously. Or rather it could be said that the piece of the shard was just as hard as the shard itself.
Regardless of what he did, it was a bit disappointing that it didn’t seem like he had learned anything.
However, it didn’t take long for Max to recover and show the same look as before.
It really seemed like he wanted something from me with how he looked at me, so I had no choice but to say with a sigh, "What is it?"
Without any hesitation, he pulled me into the lab and over to one of the slivers from the stone shard.
Then as we stood over it, he said, "Please use your divine energy to destroy it."
I couldn’t help slapping him on the head again just to make sure that I heard what he said correctly. When I felt the sensation that came from my hand, I knew that he had just seriously asked this.
Which was why I couldn’t help glaring at him.
It was one thing if he were to use other things to experiment on this artifact, but to use divine energy to directly destroy it...
There was no telling if it was linked to the immortal from the upper realm and even if it wasn’t, using the divine energy to destroy it would be like declaring war on the immortal that this stone shard belonged to.
Not only that, it might even drag the gods into this.
A war between immortals and gods might sound interesting, but it certainly wasn’t what we wanted to do now.
Max just calmly looked at me even though I was glaring at him like this, almost as if he didn’t feel like he had done anything wrong. The only thing that he was doing was waiting for me to actually do it.
But of course I didn’t go through with it since there were consequences to doing such a thing. Not to mention that I didn’t really understand what he was trying to test by doing this.
So instead I asked, "What are you planning to do with this?"
"I just want to see the very basic form of the immortal energy."
I didn’t understand what he meant by this at first, but then I slowly started to understand.
What he was trying to do with the divine energy was to use it as a kind of crusher to open up the piece of the stone shard that he possessed.
Though that didn’t mean that it was guaranteed that the immortal energy wouldn’t disappear because of this.
The only thing that had been proven so far was that divine energy had an effect on anything that was made from immortal energy and nothing more.
However, it seemed like Max still wanted to give this a try.
