Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2499: Clashing divinity

Since it wasn’t working, I stopped trying to cut the stone shard with the dagger.
It was nothing more than a waste of energy and time at this point.
While this was happening, Max was still looking around the area as if he was looking for something specific.
The disappointed look on his face was more than enough to show what he had found.
"What are you going to do?" He still asked this question while looking at the stone shard. Though the only reason that he asked this was because he might not be able to get that piece of the stone shard that was promised to him.
I didn’t bother answering as I looked closely at the stone shard.
What I was looking at was the composition of the stone shard, though it was mainly because I wanted to see if there was some kind of mark that I could use.
If there was some kind weakness that would make it easier to cut, then it certainly would have saved quite a bit of time and effort.
But of course, it wasn’t as if things would be that simple. It would have been too easy if things were that simple.
Even though it was a stone shard, there wasn’t even a single scratch on this thing.
"I guess it won’t be that easy." I couldn’t help letting out a sigh as this thought passed through my mind.
Hearing this, I could see the way that Max looked at me.
"Are you giving up?"
He didn’t say it out loud, but there really was no need for him to actually say it since his expression already said it all.
I also wasn’t willing to give on this matter either since it was something that felt like it was possible. It was just that without finding the proper tool to cut it, it certainly felt impossible.
In the end, I had to use the idea that I came up with earlier.
I could have done this from the beginning, but I chose not to use it since it didn’t seem like it would give the best results. It was just that at this point, it didn’t seem like there were any other options.
Which was why I had no choice but to raise my hand surrounded in divine energy to create a sword.
Max hesitated for a moment before stepping back, though I could see from the look in his eyes that he had wanted to come closer to get a better view. This would be the first time that he would be seeing the clash between divine and immortal energies.
But standing nearby would be dangerous since there really was no telling what would happen, so he had no choice but to step back.
The way that he moved back, it seemed like he was trying his best to determine what the safest distance would be while also making sure that he would be close enough to see everything.
I couldn’t help finding the way that he moved a bit funny, but I didn’t say anything.
Worst case scenario would be that I would stop the clash if it became too much for him to handle.
Taking a deep breath, I brought the sword down until it clashed with the stone shard.
I had been fully prepared for some kind of explosive reaction from either the shard or the sword of divine energy, but it turned out that I was wrong about this.
Instead of an explosion, it didn’t seem like the stone shard was able to put up any resistance at all. The moment that the divine energy sword made contact, it cut right through the stone shard like butter.
With how easily it went through the stone shard, I lost control of the sword for a bit which resulted in the piece that was cut off from the stone shard being a bit bigger than I intended.
At least, I didn’t lose control in the other way where it would have cut the stone shard in half completely.
When it came to the clash between immortal energy and divine energy, it was a complete victory for divine energy. Or it could even be said that the divine energy was on a completely different level.
As I looked at the stone shard that I had cut, I wanted to see if there was anything else that would happen with it. After all, it really felt a bit anti-climatic with how the stone shard had been easily cut like this.
It really felt like there should have been something else that happened because of the clash between the immortal energy and divine energy.
But seeing that both the piece that was cut off and the main stone shard didn’t seem to have a reaction, it really didn’t seem like there was anything else that was going to happen.
At that point, it felt like I had no choice but to approach the stone shard.
Since it didn’t seem to have any reaction, Max also came over to take a look at it.
Though it was clear from the way that he looked at the stone shard which one he would rather take.
Instead of being polite with him, I just simply slapped him on the back of the head.
Max didn’t even seem to care that I had slapped him on the back of the head like this as he was focused on the stone shards. So in the end, I just picked up the small piece that I had cut off and handed it to him.
Even though he had been handed this small piece, his eyes still drifted over to the large piece that was still in front of me.
But I said, "Just be grateful for what you have and forget about what you don’t have."
Max was silent for a bit, but he eventually turned around to start experimenting on the stone shard.
Since he was free to do whatever he wanted with it, it really didn’t seem like he was going to hold back.
