As the corruption energy just floated there in the isolated space, it didn’t seem like anything was going to happen with it.

In fact, it seemed like it was stable because there was nothing at all that there was to set it off.

So it felt like this test was actually a failure.

Seeing how there was no reaction at all that came from the drop of corruption energy, the others looked at me as if they were wondering what was supposed to happen. There was even a trace of doubt in their gazes as if they were wondering if I was alright mentally.

But I didn’t say anything since I knew what was supposed to happen.

In the end, I wasn’t wrong.

It was only a small reaction at first, but soon it spread across the entire drop of corruption energy. It didn’t take long before the entire drop of corruption energy was filled with tremors.

The tremors of this drop of corruption energy came from the very core of that drop.

With the way that the tremor spread through the drop, it didn’t seem like it was going to end anytime soon. It seemed like it was only getting stronger and stronger as if it was about to lose control.

Eventually, what I expected happened.

That drop of corruption energy suddenly split apart into different parts and then those different parts turned on each other.

In the absence of something controlling it and material for it to prey on, it seemed like it reacted the same way as the corruption energy in the visions that I saw.

The corruption energy was turning on each other and trying to swallow each other.

The way that the corruption energy kept attacking each other until it came together in a dense form was just like what I had seen before, so I wasn’t surprised at all. But when the others saw this, they all had disturbed looks on their faces.

It was as if they couldn’t believe that the corruption energy would do something like this.

From what they knew about the corruption energy, it was supposed to be something terrifying that wouldn’t stop unless it caught its prey. But now it almost seemed like the corruption energy was the prey.

With the corruption energy collapsing in on itself like this, it started to become smaller and smaller.

Eventually, the corruption energy became so small that it was hard to look at.

Then all of a sudden, it completely collapsed and disappeared without a trace.

No one said anything and they even held their breath as if they couldn’t believe that the corruption energy would disappear like this. But when I released the barrier that isolated the space, they had no choice but to recognize it.

The corruption energy that had been there had disappeared without a single trace.

"Where did it go?"

That was the question that everyone had on their minds as they turned to look at me, but it wasn’t as if I had an answer for them. This was a question that I wanted the answer to as well.

Seeing that I didn’t say anything, they turned back to look at Dorothy as if they were hoping for some kind of answer from her. I did the same thing since I hoped that since it was corruption energy that she controlled, she would have an idea of where it went.

But the only answer that came from Dorothy was a shake of the head that showed that she knew nothing.

"I’ve completely lost all connection with it."

It wasn’t after the corruption energy disappeared that Dorothy lost control of it, it was from the moment that the corruption energy had entered the isolated space that she lost control.

But it made sense since it wouldn’t have collapsed in on itself if it wasn’t out of control like that.

Since even Dorothy had no idea where it had gone, there was nothing that could be done.

"Since it’s gone, it’s gone. At the very least we’ve confirmed that this is the end of the corruption energy."

After hearing this, there was a heavy look that appeared on Dorothy’s face.

It was a look that had a trace of fear.

After all, this same corruption energy was inside of her body.

It wasn’t doing anything right now because it was under her control, but she couldn’t help thinking about what would happen once she died and she lost control. If the corruption energy was no longer under her control, would it collapse in on her body just like what happened inside of that isolated space.

In that case, where would it send her corpse...

"Don’t think about it for now. This is just too far down the line for you to worry about. You still have a long life in front of you." I said with a pat on Dorothy’s shoulder.

She looked up at me when she heard this, but there was still worry that was in her eyes.

At the very least, it seemed like she was a bit calmer because I did say something in the end.

"So what are you planning to do with this information?"

Rose changed the topic by asking this when she saw the look on Dorothy’s face.

It was just that I hadn’t really thought about it yet.

After a moment of silence and deep thought, I shook my head and said, "Nothing at all."

She couldn’t help slightly knitting her brows at this, but it wasn’t as if she couldn’t understand why I said this.

Even if the others were to know about this, it wasn’t as if it would have changed anything.

The only thing that it might have changed was how they viewed Dorothy.

"If she could absorb all of the corruption energy and then she was isolated away."

That would without a doubt be the first thing that everyone would think of in that case.

Which was why there really was nothing to gain from leaving that temptation out there.
