Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2431: Visions of corruption (6)

Even though it was clear that everything was already over, it didn’t seem like Idon gave up on the fight.
It kept releasing more and more divine energy to help protect its followers.
Idon was a completely different god from Morak.
Unlike Morak who sacrificed their followers without even batting an eye, it seemed like Idon cared deeply for its followers. It even seemed like Idon viewed them as children with how it was sacrificing itself like this.
But it eventually reached a point where Idon couldn’t take it anymore.
"Where are you all coming from?"
Though Idon’s voice came booming out like it was scaring off the corruption energy monsters, its actions were the complete opposite of this.
Idon knew that there was no way to stop all of the corruption energy monsters that were surging in, so the only thing that it could do was try to protect the ones that were left.
So that was why there was a barrier that appeared around the city walls.
It seemed like Idon was burning the last bit of power that it possessed to try and protect its followers. But it was clear that this wasn’t strong enough since the barrier was flickering.
With the way that the barrier looked, it felt like it would collapse at even the slightest touch.
But it was able to hold back the tide of corruption energy monsters that were charging in. At the very least, it was able to help isolate the small area that was the city from the corruption energy monsters.
Only this wasn’t the way to go.
Even if they were isolated, they were completely surrounded by the corruption energy monsters and it seemed like they would be swallowed at any moment.
In fact, there were even more and more corruption energy monsters that were showing up.
I had to admit that I was impressed by how many islands there were covered in corruption energy.
I had already explored this area before, but I had never seen this many islands.
Though I didn’t see them, I already had an estimate of how many islands there would have been in this place. But it turned out that my estimate wasn’t even close to the truth.
I had completely underestimated just how much influence and power Idon had in this world.
"It’s not as if hiding alone will help, so what is it planning to do?"
"Boom! Boom! Boom!"
As I was wondering what they would do, there were these explosions that suddenly rang out.
From my position, I was able to see that it was the pillars that had stored the energy that they used that were being thrown out and blown up. It seemed like they were releasing all of the energy that were contained inside of the pillars with how they were creating the explosion.
Even though I still wasn’t able to see or sense the energy that was contained in those pillars.
Regardless, the explosive might that came from the explosions was quite intense.
Though that wasn’t the reason why the corruption energy monsters were pushed back in the end.
"There’s actually traces of divine energy inside of the explosions. Not bad, but it won’t do much other than give them a bit of relief. It isn’t as if this is a long term strategy."
Which was why I was even more curious what Idon was thinking.
But it turned out that Idon had more than enough intelligence to know that this was nothing more than a losing battle.
The explosions that had been created were nothing more than a cover for Idon’s real plan.
"It can actually lift up this entire island?"
Not only did the explosion clear all of the corruption energy that had been staining the island, it had also pushed back all of the corruption energy monsters that had been around it.
This gave Idon the space to lift up the island and start moving it.
Though the islands had been floating the entire time, it didn’t feel like they could move with how they seemed to be stuck in place. It was as if there was some kind of strange force that kept the islands from floating off on their own.
"But then again, it is the god that created this place. It would only make sense that it would be able to move the islands here as it wanted."
What’s the limit?
That was the question that I had in mind when I saw the way that Idon was moving the island.
It was clear that Idon wanted to do the same thing as the others that had been in this same situation. It was trying to escape with its followers by bringing the island away.
It knew that it wouldn’t be able to stay on this planet anymore, so all it could do was try to escape with its followers.
As soon as the dust settled from the explosion, the islands covered in corruption energy started chasing after that island. But all that happened was that there were more pillars that were thrown out and blown up.
All of them were pillars that contained traces of divine energy.
So the corruption energy islands had no choice but to give up on the chase.
It wasn’t that they didn’t want to, it was just that they couldn’t actually chase with the divine energy blocking them.
It didn’t take long for the corruption energy to start swallowing the rest of the planet, but Idon didn’t seem to care as it continued to ascend. The only thing that it cared about was getting its followers out of here as fast as possible.
I knew that it survived since I had already talked to it, but I was certainly surprised by how much it cared about its followers.
After the corruption energy was done spreading, the same thing happened once more where it started collapsing on itself.
"Is this supposed to be the fate of corruption energy when it finishes its mission?"
