"They’re already used to being the hunter, but what if they were to suddenly become the hunted. I wonder how they would react to that."
The more that I thought about it, the more that I wanted to try this idea.
After all, this was something that I had never done before.
Following behind the Fenrirs, I just waited until they separated from each other.
It was only a split second that they would separate, so it wasn’t as if there was much time for me to do this. But I was ready for the moment that they separated.
The boss Fenrir was the one that led the hunt, which meant that it was the one that charged right at the prey that they were hunting. The rest of the Fenrir all split up to encircle the boar that they were hunting, so that it couldn’t escape.
Of course, it wasn’t as if they actually needed to do this since they were Fenrirs to begin with.
If they didn’t treat this like some kind of game and actually used their magic to hunt down this boar, then they never would have placed themselves in a position that made it easy for me to trap them.
Though it wasn’t as if I couldn’t understand why they did it.
"With no challengers, they must be bored."
However, it wasn’t as if I was going to go easy on them because of this.
The moment that they were all spread out, I didn’t waste any time in raising earth walls around them.
Instead of using the magic that they possessed to easily take down the boar, they spread themselves out like this to create spaces where they were isolated.
As soon as the earth walls came up, it wasn’t as if the Fenrirs held back anymore. They immediately sensed the danger that they were in, so they wasted no time firing magic at the walls that appeared.
Unfortunately for them, these walls weren’t that easy to break.
Even though they fired their strongest spells at the walls, there wasn’t a single scratch that was on them.
"So they can’t use divine energy like Lupus. That makes sense since Lupus is a god’s messenger, it isn’t as if all the Fenrirs would just be god’s messengers. So they shouldn’t be capable of using divine energy at all."
There was a part of me that had been worried that they would be able to use divine energy, but it was a completely different story if they couldn’t.
After all, the staff that I was holding in my hand was special.
As long as I used this staff to create walls, it was impossible for the Fenrirs to break free. As long as they didn’t use anything that surpassed the power of the divine energy walls, they wouldn’t be able to escape.
I even made sure to create a roof above them that completely trapped them.
"They’re smart, they even tried to dig through the ground."
That didn’t work either since the Staff of Earth allowed me to control all of the dirt that was around them and infuse it with divine energy.
Once all of the Fenrirs were trapped, I jumped down to the space where the boss Fenrir was being held.
Since this boss was the area boss, it wasn’t as if I had to finish off all of these Fenrirs.
It did seem like a bit too much to take care of all the Fenrirs.
It was just that the boss Fenrir didn’t really seem to act the way that a Fenrir should.
"Awoo."
It seemed like it was shouting at the others in its pack, as if it was telling them to do something.
Instead of being the one that took care of everything, it was leaving everything to its subordinates.
"This boss seems like one of those types that just charges head on and leaves the rest to the others." I couldn’t help giving a sigh when I heard this.
But then again, it did help alleviate some of the guilt that I felt towards this.
After all, this just went to show that these Fenrirs really weren’t anything like Lupus.
Lupus was a special Fenrir that had been able to catch the eye of a god and become a god’s messenger. It should be said that her specialty was not something that the rest of the Fenrir race could match.
In that case, I really shouldn’t be trying to link these Fenrirs with Lupus.
Since the boss Fenrir was trapped, it wasn’t hard for me to take it down.
The only thing that I had to do was place my hand on the wall under me and release the earth spikes that would finish off the Fenrir.
Even as the boss Fenrir was dying, it didn’t seem to give up the idea that the other Fenrirs should sacrifice themselves for it. It seemed like this boss really only cared about one thing and one thing only.
"This boss Fenrir really doesn’t live up to the name of Fenrir at all." I couldn’t help thinking to myself in a disappointed manner.
After all, it really was losing too much prestige for its race with all of its actions.
But then again, there were all kinds of Fenrirs just like there were all kinds of humans.
It was just that there were so few Fenrirs that one usually forgot about this.
After the Fenrir was stabbed with the earth spikes, it turned into a bunch of loot that was dropped onto the ground. At the same time, I could feel the burst of strength that came from deep inside of me which was the same as when I took out the other area bosses.
"There’s no need to do anything to the rest of them, they were just unfortunate to have gotten such a bad pack leader." I muttered to myself with another shake of my head before heading off.
After I left, the earth walls disappeared on their own and the Fenrirs were left there with confused looks on their faces.
