The protagonist used a new spatial power to bisect the powerful dragon boss, causing it to drop loot. His stats were then doubled by the dungeon, but a strange, never-before-seen portal appeared.

"It would be a waste if I didn’t at least take a look at it."

"But there’s no telling if there’s an exit at the end of this."

"It’s a completely new thing that I’ve never even seen before."

"There’s no telling how long it’ll take to leave this place."

I couldn’t help agonizing over whether I should go into this strange portal or not at this moment.

I had to admit that it really was a tempting thing since this was something new that I hadn’t experienced even with all my time in the game.

But the dangers that were associated with it...

"I just can’t deny my gamer instincts." That was my decision in the end.

Even if it was dangerous, I still believed that I would be able to get out of there in the end. Perhaps this was just the confidence that came with this newfound power of mine.

Which was why I stepped through the strange portal in the end.

As soon as I stepped through, I found that I was in a place that was familiar and unfamiliar at the same time.

"There’s no doubt that this is still part of the dungeon, but it’s strange...I’ve never seen this place before."

I didn’t have time to think it over as the strange portal that I had walked through closed behind me the moment that I had fully stepped through. It was as if whatever had created the portal was afraid that I would get cold feet and run back.

Though I had to admit that I did think of doing this for a moment, but it wasn’t as if it was my main plan. It was just the backup plan in case anything happened after stepping through the strange portal.

But now that the strange portal was gone, it wasn’t as if I could go through with this plan anymore.

Since I was here, the only thing that I could do was look around this place and get my bearings.

After looking around, there was one thing that I was certain of, "There’s no doubt that this is part of the dungeon. It seems like this is some kind of hidden floor that’s only accessible after beating the final floor."

Even though I had figured this out, I was still confused what it was that had triggered the strange portal to open.

After all, this wasn’t something that had ever happened when this world was still a game.

I had done everything the same as before, so it wasn’t as if there was anything that should have triggered this.

As for the divine energy, I didn’t believe that would have an effect on the dungeon itself.

It was unthinkable that a dungeon core would be able to wield divine energy or it would certainly be the strongest dungeon in the world. It might even evolve to become the strongest dungeon that could even overpower gods if that was the case.

So it was impossible for the gods to allow something like this to exist.

"It’s strangely empty in this place."

There wasn’t a single trace of monsters here, whether that was because this place didn’t have any or it was newly generated.

Though the safer guess was most likely that this place was a safe zone.

At least it didn’t seem to throw you right into the battle as soon as you arrived on the hidden floor.

But there was something strange about this place.

It wasn’t just the fact that there were no monsters that was strange, it was something strange about this entire floor. It was something strange about what was in the air around me.

"This concentration of mana is strange."

The mana that was in the air was much higher than normal, but it also felt like it was a different form of energy.

It was a form of energy that was highly concentrated and compressed, much stronger than normal mana should be.

Even the final floor of the dungeon didn’t have this kind of mana concentration.

"If there’s this kind of mana in the air on this hidden floor, then the monsters that spawn in this place won’t be shabby."

There was a part of me that was looking forward to seeing what kind of monsters spawn here, but at the same time, I knew that it would be a bit dangerous. Even if my stats were on a completely different level, it wasn’t as if I was invincible.

So there was a part of me that was hesitating over what to do.

In the end, I still came to the same decision as before, "I can’t do anything but push forward."

The biggest reason for this was because I was stuck here.

The strange portal that I had taken to get to this hidden floor had disappeared without a trace and it wasn’t as if I could just stay in this place forever. Not to mention that there was no telling if it would ever come back.

With the way that it disappeared, it was clear that whoever had created that strange portal didn’t want anyone taking it back.

So the only way out of this place was to push forward.

I had to clear out this hidden floor and find the exit after defeating the boss.

Or at least that was what video game logic dictated and I was hoping that it would apply here.

But even if it didn’t, it really wasn’t as if I could do anything by staying here.

So I had to go forward and see what was here.

Taking a deep breath, I chose one of the tunnels that were in front of me and started going down that corridor. At the very least, it seemed like the layout was similar to how a dungeon should be with corridors leading to rooms with monsters in them.

As for what kind of monsters there would be, that was still to be seen.

But I didn’t dare let my guard down for even a single second.
