The protagonist continues his descent through a massive dungeon, finding his stealth spells ineffective and wary of using divine energy due to potential corruption. He decides to search for rare items in a dangerous trap area known for its weak drops and tough monsters, hoping to find a souvenir for his wives. After defeating a pack of wolfmen using roots that emerge from the ground, he is frustrated to find that the specific item he sought did not drop, despite the high number of monsters defeated.

"Finally, it dropped!" There was even a trace of frustration that filled my voice as I said this.

After all, it really had taken too long for this thing to drop...

I had to wipe out another two more wolfmen packs that all had two hundred members in them.

Even though the drop rate was 1/100, it hadn’t dropped until the very last wolfmen.

I never thought that my luck would be this bad...

"It has to be this dungeon that has changed. It’s sentient since it’s in the real world now and I know that it’s messing with me."

That was the excuse that I made, but it really didn’t make me feel any better.

Looking at the egg that was in my hand, at least I knew that I would be able to bring a good gift to my daughter.

In the game, this item was considered trash because there was no use for it at all. This was an egg that would hatch into a familiar, but that familiar was nothing more than an ornamental familiar.

It was basically something that was used as a pet for fun.

In a h-game, this certainly didn’t have any value at all.

So that was why no one ever bothered hunting down these wolfmen for these things other than some fanatic collectors.

I was one of those fanatic collectors, which was why I knew about this egg.

There was a part of me that wanted to hunt a few more since I wanted to bring them back for all my children. It was just that thinking about the drop rate that I had encountered, I got rid of that idea.

"No, it’s because I want to give unique gifts to all my children."

That was the excuse that I made for myself.

With that in mind, I set off to find those gifts.

But in the end, it turned out that it wasn’t just a single place that had bad drop rates.

It turned out that it was just overall terrible drop rates.

"This isn’t something that’s mathematically possible."

I knew the drop rates of this dungeon from my time playing the game, so I knew that it was just impossible that all of these drops had such low rates.

I didn’t want to believe that my luck was actually that bad, so it had to be something with the dungeon itself.

In the first place, the drop rates were based on the rules of the game since it was necessary to make the game fair. But it wasn’t as if a dungeon that had become real had to follow those rates.

Perhaps the drops were just based on the whims of the dungeon itself.

It took a while, but I was able to find the things that I wanted to bring back as souvenirs for my kids.

Most of them were nothing more than trinkets that didn’t really have a use.

The fact that these things dropped in this dungeon really said something about how the dungeon had been designed. It was no wonder there were so many people that had complained about the design of this dungeon on the web.

The ratio of useful items to these trinkets really was too high.

I knew that they were doing this because they wanted to give the players a sense of accomplishment when they did get something good, but it really wasn’t that well planned.

That was what had driven the community to put together those guides that clearly laid out which monsters were worth hunting and what drops they would give.

"I never thought that I would be using those guides to find souvenirs." I couldn’t help shaking my head with a wry smile as I thought this.

Still, the things that I collected were certainly things that they would like.

There was this stone that would let out a rainbow coloured glow, but could also be changed to let out single coloured light.

There was this ball that would bounce without stop as long as there was mana injected into it.

There was also this block that would divide infinitely as long as it had mana to draw from.

All of these were magic items that were relatively safe, so they could be used as toys for kids.

But of course, it wasn’t just the kids alone that I was bringing souvenirs for.

If I didn’t bring something back for my wives as well, there was no telling what they would have done for me.

A cream that helped smoothen skin, a magic potion that reduced wrinkles, and other things that women would love to have.

It seemed strange that a dungeon would have things like this, but it wasn’t actually that strange if one considered what kind of game world this was. After all these things were certainly the best gifts that one could give in a world that was about raising affection.

It was also one of the things that this dungeon was known for.

The best place to farm gifts for targets that one was trying to capture.

"I think that should be everything. Even if I want to farm more, it won’t work since they’ll know about it from my Storage Ring. If I give them too much, it’ll have the opposite effect."

I made sure to carefully plan out all of the gifts that I was collecting since I knew what kind of personalities my wives had. I knew exactly what I had to do to apologize since I had already done it so many times.

Once all of the gifts were collected, I let out a sigh before saying, "I hope that this will be enough. If it isn’t, then there’s nothing that I can do."

After putting all these gifts away, I headed further into the dungeon.

With this settled, it was time to start grinding out the solo kills.

Other than preparing gifts, I had to get out of this place as soon as possible.
