"Master, why aren’t we going to collect those herbs? Aren’t they rare herbs?"
"Master, there’s a clear pond over there. Shouldn’t we rest up over there?"
"Master, look at this beautiful mushroom."
Slowly, I was getting frustrated with them.
I already knew that they were noble kids that had lived a spoiled life, but I never thought that they were this lacking in common sense.
With the way that they acted, it really felt like they had been sheltered for their entire life.
The one good thing was that they at least listened to what I said. In fact, they listened a bit too well and it made me a bit worried.
After all, it was almost as if they would listen if I told them to kill themselves. Not that I would actually do that to these kids.
"Master, how did you learn all these things? You don’t seem that much older than us, but you know so much more than us."
When the kids asked this, there was a part of me that couldn’t help finding this funny.
After all, they were right that I was not that much older than them, but that was only in terms of this body.
If I added in my experience from my past life, then I was certainly much older than them. Not that it was possible for me to tell them about those experiences since that wasn’t something that they would understand.
Instead of telling them about that, I just simply said, "It’s a difference in experience."
The three of them looked confused when they heard this, so I explained, "I can already guess that you’re the kids of some nobles with the equipment that you have."
Awkward smiles appeared on their faces and it seemed like they wanted to explain this, but I just raised my hand to stop them and waved it off before continuing.
"I’m not judging you for this, I just wanted to point it out because this is the difference between us. While you were living the comfy life at home, I was here exploring this dungeon and learning things."
They looked a bit down when they heard this and it wasn’t as if there was anything that they could say to refute this.
I just calmly said, "So when it comes to experience, I’m your senior."
Then after a pause, I added, "But you have to know that no one is perfect."
They looked back up at me with confused looks after hearing this.
Shaking my head, I said, "No one is perfect at the start. The things that they learn is something that’s carved out through experience. It’s not as if you’re expected to be able to do everything perfectly right away."
The three of them still looked a bit confused at first, but then they realized that this was the truth.
Though the way that they looked at me like this, it felt like there was something else that had confused them. It felt like there was something in their past that had made them think that they had to do everything perfectly.
"Has someone told you differently?"
Hearing this, there were awkward looks that appeared on the faces of the three.
The strange way that they listened to me and now how they acted, it really made me feel like there was something off...
In the end, Hans the swordsman awkwardly said, "Well, in the past...we were told that we had to be perfect or else we wouldn’t be able to live up to our family names."
The other two nodded along with this.
They didn’t bother hiding that they were nobles since I had already called them out on it, they just directly told me about their past.
When I heard it, I wasn’t surprised since I had already seen how it was for other noble families. I had seen the way that they talked to their children from the different banquets that I attended, as well as seen the pressure that those children faced.
Since these three were children of nobles as well, it was only natural that they would face the same kind of treatment.
It was only natural that they would face the same kind of pressure.
When they were done, I just said with a sigh, "Regardless of what you’ve been through in the past, you can always change in the future. You don’t have to worry about your past holding you back."
Their eyes lit up when they heard this, almost as if they were asking me if this was true.
But I didn’t bother saying anything else since there was no need for me to say anything else.
At the same time, it wasn’t as if they were expecting me to tell them anything else.
"So they’re in their rebellious phase." I thought to myself as I stared at these kids.
Thinking this, I couldn’t help comparing them to my own daughters.
After all, it would only be a matter of time before my own daughters reached an age where they could go through a similar phase. When the time came, I really wondered if they would act the same way as these three.
It wasn’t as if I put a lot of pressure on them, but it would only be natural that they would feel pressure because I was their father.
At the same time, they would also suffer pressure from their mothers because of the expectations that they had for them.
So it wasn’t as if it was impossible that my cute and obedient daughters of now would one day have a rebellious phase.
"When the time comes, I’ll do my best to talk to them. I hope that I’ll be able to get through it without this ending."
After all, if they were to run off like these three, I really didn’t know what I would do.
Seeing these three, I’m sure that their parents must be worried right now and I didn’t want to feel the same way about my daughters.
