The protagonist successfully solo-killed the Gale Wolf, obtaining the Wolf Slayer title which boosted his stats. He discovered that this title also increased his divine energy, a phenomenon he hadn't anticipated. He plans to solo-kill all the bosses in the dungeon to further enhance his power.

"Help!"

I wasn’t surprised to hear this cry, but I also didn’t rush towards that sound.

After all, there was no telling what would be there and it wasn’t as if I was someone that would put myself in danger.

So I slowly moved towards the sound and used my divine energy to sense what was there.

When it came into range, I had to admit that I was a bit disappointed.

Though it wasn’t as if there were any rules about this, it was still disappointing seeing people that resorted to methods like this.

The one that was asking for help was a girl that was running away from a bunch of thugs.

A situation like this really was a cliche for a dungeon like this.

However, I wasn’t in a rush to save her since it didn’t seem like they were going to catch up to her that quickly. I was just watching to see why they were actually chasing after her or if there were others with her.

But it didn’t seem like there was anyone.

"It really seems like there’s no resisting human greed when it comes to the dungeons."

As I said this to myself, I couldn’t help letting out a helpless sigh.

In the end, I still went forward to help.

It was simply because it would have left a bad taste in my mouth if I were to let these thugs have their way with this girl.

The approach that I chose to use was that I was just passing by.

The moment that the girl saw me, she started running towards me and shouting for help.

Behind her, the thugs were more wary as they slowed down a bit to see what I would do.

However, I just acted like I didn’t hear her at all.

When that happened, she started running towards me even faster.

When she reached me, she ran right behind me to take cover from the thugs. With the way that she was hiding behind me, it was almost as if she was using me as some kind of human shield against these thugs.

I wasn’t happy about the way that she was acting, but it wasn’t as if I didn’t understand why she did this.

It really was hard to act properly when one was being chased like this.

When the thugs came over, they narrowed their eyes to look at me before one of them who seemed to be the leader of their group said, "Are you planning on getting involved in this matter?"

The threatening tone in his voice was more than enough to show what his intentions were for asking this.

However, I didn’t respond at all when he asked me this.

Instead, I just calmly stood there while looking at them.

It didn’t seem like I was going to do anything, but the thugs didn’t dare be negligent.

After a long moment of silence, the leader of the thugs finally said, "Hand her over and we won’t do anything to you."

I couldn’t help giving a secret snort when I heard this.

After all, he had already threatened me and his men were wielding weapons as if they were prepared to attack at any moment. I would be a fool if I were to believe his words and actually do what he wanted me to do.

But the leader of these thugs wasn’t a fool either since he could tell what my intentions were.

So with a wave of his hand, his men spread out around me and looked to surround me. They were planning to use their numbers to their advantage and completely overwhelm me so that I wouldn’t be able to do anything.

"Ugh."

The moment that one of the thugs approached, he suddenly fell to the ground.

When this happened, all of the other thugs froze as if they couldn’t believe what just happened.

After all, none of them had seen what had caused that person to fall.

"I’m fine, I just slipped."

Though that thug said this, no one really believed him since he had suddenly fallen like that.

As if to prove himself, that thug came forward to grab me. But before he could even make contact with my body, there was this strange thing that stopped him.

With the way that his face looked, it was as if he had run into some kind of invisible wall. With the blood that came out of his nose, it was clear that this hurt him quite a bit.

The other thugs looked like they were filled with even more wariness when they saw this.

"Switch to your bows." The leader of the thugs kept his cool and gave this order.

Even I couldn’t help giving a secret nod of approval for this since he clearly knew what he was doing. It was impressive that he was able to keep his cool when faced with something that he didn’t understand at all.

Once they received this order, the thugs didn’t waste any time as they brought out their bows and aimed them all at me.

I could feel someone gripping tightly to me, but I just ignored her as I focused on the arrows that were flying at me.

It wasn’t as if they posed any threat and they were all knocked out of the air as if they had hit something.

When the arrows hit the ground like this, all of the thugs looked on in shock as they couldn’t believe what just happened. They looked like they were trying to figure out something that would justify what happened, but they just couldn’t think of a single thing.

"Who are you?" The leader of the thug asked this in a voice that was completely different from before.

This time, I could hear the fear that was in his voice as he said this.

With a sigh, I calmly said, "I’m just a passerby that was unlucky enough to be caught up in this."
