The protagonist proposes a marriage to the prime minister as a distraction for the continent. While the prime minister hesitates, a messenger arrives with urgent news, and both men return to the castle. There, they learn the gods wish to see the protagonist, who agrees to go after confirming the prime minister will consider the proposal.

"You're truly giving me the location of the fourth inheritance?"

I couldn't help but blurt out as I heard Solista's words.

The wry expression on her face did not deter me from speaking my mind.

After all, this was something I had inquired about for a considerable duration, only to be met with their persistent silence. Their current actions made it seem as if they couldn't possibly blame me for my surprise at such a sudden offer.

I felt the need to confirm Solista's sincerity.

With a sigh, Solista responded, "Was your previous impression of us so unfavorable that you would doubt our intentions? We had already pledged to inform you once the matter concerning War was resolved."

"And yet, it has taken you this long to summon me," I added in a subdued tone.

Solista opted to disregard my remark and proceeded to the core issue.

"Before I can reveal the location, there is something you must be aware of."

A knowing smile touched my lips at this.

I had already anticipated that it wouldn't be a straightforward disclosure; it was all but certain they would present some form of request.

The crucial question now was the nature of this request.

"To gain knowledge of the fourth inheritance's whereabouts, you must undergo a trial," Solista stated plainly, without preamble.

While surprised, my astonishment was not as profound as I might have expected.

After all, this situation was not excessively complex.

It seemed only natural that some form of contribution would be required in exchange for the location of this fourth inheritance.

One could argue that my success in defeating War and repelling the forces of Destruction should suffice, but it appeared that was not the case. Therefore, dwelling on what could not be changed was futile.

Given their proposal of a trial, my course of action was clear: accept and succeed.

"Very well, what does this trial entail?"

Solista seemed to hesitate, her silence answering my question.

Observing her reluctance, a knot of worry tightened in my chest.

However, my apprehension stemmed not from what I initially suspected, but from something else entirely.

"This trial requires a significant duration, during which you will have no contact with the outside world. Therefore, it is advisable to settle your personal affairs before you commence."

The more I heard, the greater my curiosity about the nature of this trial became.

I perceived that she was unwilling to divulge any further details until I agreed.

It appeared some form of constraint prevented her from sharing information about the trial prior to my acceptance.

"You cannot disclose anything at all?"

While there was no harm in asking, I harbored no expectation of a different response.

As I had surmised, she merely shook her head in confirmation.

Consequently, I had nothing more to say, beyond affirming one final point.

"Will I be safe?"

Again, I anticipated no specific response. My inquiry was merely a probe to gauge their reaction.

Yet, my question seemed to strike a chord, as Solista quickly shook her head and declared with resolute certainty, "You will face absolutely no danger."

A more reassuring response would have been one of hesitation. But her firm, immediate denial proved... unsettling.

The manner of her affirmation cast a shadow of doubt over my decision to trust them. Her response felt a trifle too emphatic, making it difficult for me to fully confide in them...

Ultimately, however, I simply offered a nod.

The paramount importance of the fourth inheritance outweighed all other considerations.

Without it, I lacked the capacity to confront the forces of Destruction or the final Omen. Acquiring this last inheritance was essential for the protection of my family and loved ones.

Upon my return to the mortal plane, I addressed the assembled popes, stating, "What must be done for me to be absent for a period?"

They were all taken aback by my words, and a flurry of concerned questions ensued, only to cease abruptly. Their expressions shifted, suggesting they had received divine guidance.

I found it surprising that the gods would intervene with oracles for such a matter, which, in turn, fueled my suspicion.

After all, their willingness to go to such lengths...

For the moment, I simply sighed and reiterated, "So, what is required for my temporary departure?"

The popes did not question me further and fell into deep contemplation.

My disappearance under duress from an enemy was one thing, but my willful absence would undoubtedly create significant upheaval, especially considering Dorothy's situation.

My renown throughout the continent was unprecedented, a direct consequence of my involvement in the war against the forces of Destruction. "This presents a significant predicament..." Despite their shared apprehension, the realization of the underlying necessity for this situation led them to acknowledge that, however inconvenient, a viable solution had to be devised. Following a protracted period of silence, the Pontiff of the Solista Religion declared, "The decision cannot be made unilaterally. We must consult with the other factions before formulating a resolution." This outcome was entirely within my expectations and met with my tacit approval.
