Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2220: Just a dent
Previously on Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure...
As soon as the dagger was fully formed, I immediately hurled it towards the encroaching spike of corruption energy before me.
This dagger represented my most potent offensive capability, and I unleashed it with my full might.
However, the very instant the dagger collided with the corruption energy spike...
"Tink..."
A look of bewilderment crossed my face as I watched it rebound, repelled by the corruption energy.
It wasn't as if the spike had obliterated the dagger, but rather, it had knocked it away as if it were utterly insignificant. The strongest attack in my arsenal seemed to have had no effect whatsoever on the corruption energy spike.
"There's a dent," Max suddenly remarked, catching me completely off guard.
He had remained by my side, unmoving, even as I manifested my domain. It was as though he wished to fully immerse himself in the experience of its grandeur.
Only after I began my assault on the corruption energy spike did Max seem to lose interest in the domain's presence.
Following his gaze, I confirmed his observation: a dent had indeed appeared on the corruption energy spike. Yet, this dent was so minuscule, it was practically imperceptible...
With a flick of my wrist, the dagger ascended once more, soaring towards the exact location of the previous impact. The dagger struck precisely where the dent had formed, but the outcome was identical – it was sent flying back once again.
"The dent is larger," Max stated with unshakeable certainty.
From my perspective, however, the increase in the dent's size was barely noticeable.
It was only by employing the might of my domain that I could discern the truth of his words. The issue remained that the dent's growth was infinitesimal compared to the previous attempt.
Then, on the third strike, the dagger fractured.
It didn't shatter into pieces, but it undeniably snapped in two.
It must be understood that this was no ordinary dagger; it was one meticulously crafted by layering numerous strata of divine energy. It was not the type of weapon that should have broken so easily.
This implied that the corruption energy spike was something truly... extraordinary.
"What exactly is this entity?" I found myself compelled to ask, my gaze fixed upon the imposing spike.
Eventually, the remaining companions drew closer.
It wasn't a matter of faith in my abilities; rather, they recognized the protracted duration of this engagement. With the spike now provoked, there was no telling what might transpire, and they sought a swift resolution.
Before long, a multitude of distinct domains converged, enveloping the spike in a complex tapestry of overlapping auras.
Then, a barrage of diverse attacks rained down upon the spike from every conceivable angle. Each of us unleashed our most devastating techniques, striving to dismantle this formidable barrier.
Yet, the efficacy of our efforts appeared distressingly limited...
"Am I even making a mark?" This question echoed among some of the others.
Their inquiries stemmed not from self-doubt, but from the stark reality that their most strenuous assaults were failing to leave any discernible impression on the corruption energy spike.
It seemed only a select few, myself included, possessed the ability to inflict even the slightest dent upon its surface.
The critical issue was that the indentations we managed to create were far too infinitesimal to be considered genuine damage to the spike. Even when focusing our attacks on the same spots, the dents refused to expand significantly.
At this pace, it appeared we would require an unfathomable amount of time to truly break down this spike.
After all, we hadn't even managed to erode 1% of its entirety thus far.
"What is this thing?"
Observing the others' dwindling reserves of energy, I had no alternative but to issue the command to cease our assault.
Some immediately complied, their energy completely depleted. Others, however, showed a stubborn resolve to continue, their bodies teetering on the brink of collapse.
In essence, this spike had wounded the pride of every individual present.
Their frustration was understandable; they had diligently honed their comprehension of these domains, believing themselves to have ascended in power. Now, this unexpected corruption energy spike had materialized, impervious to even their most dedicated efforts, leaving them unable to inflict even the slightest blemish.
Consequently, a degree of defiance sparked within some, compelling them to persist in their confrontation with the spike.
Following a period of recuperation, we resumed our offensive, employing the same attacks as before against the spike.
This time, however, we initiated a rotational approach, striking in turns to ascertain if a gradual attrition could be achieved.
The persistent challenge remained: it seemed we were utterly incapable of penetrating its defenses.
After a considerable duration, it even appeared as though we could no longer create even the smallest dent upon the spike's surface.
It was as if an unseen force lay dormant beneath the exterior, actively preventing any deeper penetration.
"What is this thing?" This query resonated in the minds of all present once more.
Indeed, we had never encountered any entity remotely similar to this perplexing spike before."Let this be the only one." That was our prevailing thought, yet it seems we had merely tempted fate. Not one, but two additional energy spikes were detected by our scouts. After verifying the report with the scouts who brought the news, it was confirmed that these new spikes were identical to the one situated before us. "We are struggling to handle this single spike, and now two more have manifested? What are we expected to do?" My question hung in the air, unanswered.
