Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 2111 2111: Tricked as kids (1)

"It is quite a long story," Undine muttered with a deep sigh.
I shot Undine an expectant look, eyebrow arched, waiting for a proper explanation, yet the spirit seemed hesitant to elaborate any further.
The way Undine gazed at the water elemental ancestors suggested it desperately wished to vanish into a hole, though such an endeavor seemed futile given we were entirely submerged within an endless expanse of water.
After a brief silence, Undine ventured forward, exiting the protective water bubble.
The bubble itself remained unperturbed by this departure, showing no signs of strain against the surrounding hydrostatic pressure.
Once clear of the barrier, Undine approached the five water elemental ancestors, who had conveniently shrunk themselves down to match the spirit's stature.
Without a moment's hesitation, Undine raised a hand and slapped each of the ancestors squarely on the head. Despite being surrounded by a multitude of elementals, Undine displayed not a shred of fear.
Strangely enough, not a single water elemental flared with resentment.
None of the gathered entities seemed the least bit bothered that their progenitors were being treated so cavalierly.
Most bizarrely, the ancestors themselves wore expressions of delight, clearly relishing the stinging slaps from Undine.
It certainly defied the stoic image one might expect from such ancient beings, yet the collective populace of elementals appeared untroubled; in fact, they seemed to view their ancestors' treatment with a strange, communal joy.
The entire spectacle was surreal, to say the least.
The only one who seemed genuinely irritated by the dynamic was Undine, who looked truly fed up with them.
"Why can you not simply let the past go? You already know the truth of the matter; there is no logic in acting like this," Undine complained, sounding as though it had reached its limit with them.
Yet, the elders remained unmoved by the scolding.
If anything, they looked indignant, retorting, "Whatever the truth may be, you remain our princess."
They spoke with such gravity that it was evident their conviction was immovable.
Their stubborn insistence only deepened my confusion regarding their bizarre behavior.
In any case, one fact had become undeniably clear.
A profound, long-standing bond existed between these ancestors and Undine—a tether forged over eons of existence.
It bore a striking resemblance to the dynamic between Lupus and the wind elemental ancestor.
Though, judging by the current display, this connection felt remarkably one-sided, with the water ancestors exhibiting far more enthusiasm than the spirit itself.
Clearly finished with interacting with the elders, Undine returned to the safety of the bubble and remarked, "This is my current contractor. He has arrived to assist you all with your tribulations."
Only then did the surrounding elementals take notice of my presence.
For the entire duration, they had ignored me completely, acting as if I were nothing more than a non-existent bystander whenever Undine was near.
Now acknowledged via Undine's formal introduction, their collective gaze snapped toward me.
It was immediately apparent, however, that their interest was strictly singular in nature.
"So, you are the current contractor of our princess?"
While their tone lacked overt hostility, the underlying implication was chillingly clear. Simultaneously, the ancestors expanded their forms, looming larger as they drew closer to the bubble.
Their posture was a calculated move to intimidate, as if they were signaling that they could crush my containment at any moment.
Such treatment was a stark departure from how other elementals had interacted with me, though truth be told, the freshness of their aggression was almost a welcome change of pace.
Watching the ancestors throw their weight around like this even struck me as somewhat comical.
After all, their only reward for such posturing was another round of firm smacks to the head from Undine.
Seemingly unfazed by the physical discipline, they kept their eyes locked on me, clearly determined to vet the safety of their precious princess's contractor.
Again, the behavior stood in stark contrast to the standard relationship between elementals and spirits.
Undine let out a heavy sigh and commanded, "Fall back and allow me to speak with him."
The ancestors hesitated, their forms shifting, before casting one last warning glare in my direction. They were unmistakably broadcasting a threat.
"Should you dare harm our princess..."
They did not need to finish the sentence; the swirling currents pressing against my bubble communicated the promise of violence perfectly.
Eventually, they relented, chased away by Undine’s stern demeanor.
With the elders dispersed, Undine retreated into the bubble and noted, "As you can see, they are rather protective..."
That was a massive understatement, but I remained silent, waiting for the full explanation.
"It began ages ago. Though, to be precise, they were tricked when they were mere youngsters; that is, in essence, why they act in such a manner now."
