Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1984: I have something to share

To pressure Queenie into improving her defensive capabilities, a sample of corruption energy is unleashed to test her failing barrier. The creature, desperate for sustenance, targets Queenie’s bugs after being repelled by a superior display of divine energy. Despite her pleas for help, she is forced into a cycle of extreme training as the corruption energy repeatedly breaks through her defenses to consume her power. While occasional icicle strikes keep the threat from becoming fatal, the relentless assault continues until Queenie can no longer afford to be lazy.

As dawn broke, the racial alliance wasted no time in reconvening.

It was clear that the events of the previous day would not be brushed aside easily.

Those who had been most vocal about finding a resolution appeared even more agitated than before. Judging by the expressions on their faces, it seemed as though sleep had eluded them entirely.

Their anxieties had evidently kept them awake throughout the night, fueling a sense of desperation regarding the current situation.

In fact, their approach today was far more blunt.

"Your Majesty, what is your opinion on this matter?"

Only a few minutes had passed in the meeting before this question was directed at me.

They were no longer willing to wait; they intended to extract an answer from me by any means necessary.

At this stage, the respect and fear they held for me were overshadowed by a much more powerful instinct.

Civility is a luxury maintained only when one feels safe. Once a person's life is perceived to be in jeopardy, they will do everything in their power to ensure their own survival.

This was especially true for these representatives, self-important individuals who prioritized their own well-being above all else.

This world operated under a noble system where the aristocracy stood above the commoners, so it was only expected that nobles served as representatives. They were the sort of people whose primary concerns were limited to their own interests and personal gain.

I maintained my composure as I looked at the man who had spoken before asking, "What do you think I can do about this?"

His face soured the moment the words left my mouth, yet he struggled to keep his voice steady as he replied, "I wasn’t expecting Your Majesty to perform miracles; I simply wished to know if you had any thoughts on the subject."

The people chosen for these roles were selected for a reason, after all.

The fact that he remained calm despite my pointed retort was somewhat impressive.

Nevertheless, I had nothing to offer him, so I simply stated, "I really don’t have anything to add to this. I understand your concerns, but it isn’t as if I am omniscient."

Once again, looks of displeasure spread across their faces.

However, this time, they found themselves without a rebuttal.

As I had pointed out, I couldn't possibly provide every answer in existence.

There are limits to my knowledge; no one in this world possesses all the answers they seek—unless, of course, they were something more than mortal.

After I spoke those words, the room fell silent as they realized there was nothing more to be said.

I was aware that I represented their final hope for an explanation or a solution to this phenomenon. They were desperately praying that I could provide some form of defense.

But it wasn't as if I was completely empty-handed.

There was a specific reason I had pushed Queenie so hard the day before.

After a heavy silence filled the room, I suddenly spoke up, "But there is one thing I wish to share with everyone."

The moment I said this, every eye in the room locked onto me with intense focus.

Such was the level of trust they placed in me; it had reached a point that could be described as faith. From the perspective of the racial alliance's health, such blind reliance was probably not ideal.

But for the time being, it served my purposes.

"I have developed something that can assist in protecting all members of the racial alliance."

Despite their faith, they didn't seem to buy my claim immediately. The assembly watched me, waiting for a detailed explanation of what I meant.

Rather than explaining, I decided a demonstration would be far more effective.

"This is one of the god’s messengers that I encountered during my travels and have since formed a contract with."

With those words, I held up my hand to reveal Queenie.

She had been waiting nearby as I had instructed, so I simply picked her up when the moment was right to present her.

When they saw her, however, their faces were filled with blatant skepticism.

I didn't need to be a mind reader to understand their thoughts.

After all, I had felt the exact same way when I first laid eyes on Queenie.

She didn't exactly fit the majestic image that other god’s messengers had established in their minds.

Most messengers of the gods were legendary beasts—creatures of myth that were nearly impossible to find.

Given Queenie's appearance, it was only natural for them to feel disappointed and doubtful.

However, a few representatives with keener instincts wore different expressions. It was obvious they were connecting the dots between Queenie’s look and the entities that had surfaced in Death Valley.

Even so, they remained quiet, sensing that I had a plan in motion.

Holding Queenie, I summoned a few of the insects she commanded and showcased the barrier ability she held.

"While this doesn't guarantee absolute safety, it will certainly make you more secure than you are currently. By utilizing the power of this god’s messenger, we can establish a barrier that triggers should you be targeted by the forces of Destruction."

Once the demonstration concluded, the solution I offered didn't seem to fully satisfy them.

Yet, at the same time, they were in no position to complain.

After all, there was simply no better alternative available to them.
