Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1983: Defense test (3)

Queenie is forced into rigorous training to master the defensive powers granted to her as Insectum’s messenger. Despite her natural talent and past familiarity with divine energy, her lack of motivation and long-term laziness cause her initial attempts at forming a stable barrier to fail. To accelerate her progress, a drastic and threatening ultimatum is issued, forcing her to finally take the training seriously as her physical defenses shatter under the pressure.

Queenie cast an awkward glance in my direction the moment the barrier fractured.

The expression on her face spoke volumes, but I had no intention of letting her off the hook simply because of a look.

If she lacked the ability, then she simply couldn't do it.

However, since she was failing, I merely had to provide the proper 'motivation'.

"I gave you a chance." I spoke those words coldly before bringing my hand down, making it look as though I were about to drop the object I held.

"No, wait, don’t!" Queenie managed to cry out, but it was too late; I had already smashed it against the floor.

A new variable was introduced to the environment the second that object shattered on the ground.

Upon its emergence, this new presence immediately sought out a target to strike.

It wasn't that the entity was inherently hostile; rather, it had been imprisoned for so long without any source of nourishment. Weakened and desperate, it needed to siphon energy from something nearby just to stay alive.

Naturally, I was positioned much closer to it than either Queenie or her insects.

Because of this proximity, I was the first one it attempted to assault.

Yet, just as it lunged, the thing on the floor abruptly halted its advance toward me. It began to tremble violently, as if it had suddenly realized there was something terrifying in its path.

That source of terror was me.

The item I had cast to the floor was actually a concentrated sample of corruption energy.

I had developed a habit of carrying samples of corruption energy with me, never knowing when they might prove useful. Given that I was destined to encounter the god’s messengers, having this corruption energy on hand was necessary from time to time.

Because this particular sample was in a weakened state, controlling it was a simple task for me.

Of course, for anyone else, managing such a thing would have been nearly impossible.

My success was entirely due to the immense divine energy I possessed, which was exactly what the corruption energy feared so deeply.

Seeing the corruption energy approach, I instantly shrouded my body in a layer of potent divine energy. This divine energy acted as a natural nemesis to the corruption energy; in its frail condition, it was no match for the overwhelming power I wielded.

Had it dared to touch me while I was enveloped in such divine energy, it would have been purified instantly.

Recognizing the danger, the corruption energy veered away from me, redirected its hunger toward Queenie and her swarm.

She looked at me with pleading eyes, hoping I would intervene, but I ignored her silent request. Instead, I told her, "If you want to protect yourself, you’ll have to raise that barrier."

Hearing my words, Queenie stared at me as if I had lost my mind.

With the corruption energy creeping closer by the second, Queenie realized she had no other options. Her bugs began to radiate light once more as she funneled her divine energy into them.

She strained to construct a barrier using the insects under her command, yet the shield remained at its previous, insufficient level.

Initially, the corruption energy paused when the divine energy barrier manifested, as if evaluating the obstacle. After a brief hesitation, it began probing various points of the divine energy barrier.

The way the corruption energy poked at the shield suggested it was testing the integrity and strength of the divine energy barrier.

Before long, the corruption energy identified several vulnerabilities and managed to puncture the divine energy barrier.

Queenie didn't waste a moment, sending more bugs to the breached sections to patch the divine energy barrier. Unfortunately, the corruption energy managed to seize some of the insects that formed the wall during the breach.

By consuming these bugs, the corruption energy began to replenish its own strength.

As it grew more powerful, tearing away pieces of the divine energy barrier became increasingly effortless for the corruption energy.

Queenie fought desperately to compensate for the losses while trying to enhance the shield, but the corruption energy was evolving much faster than she could keep up with.

It appeared to be only a matter of minutes before the corruption energy would shatter Queenie’s barrier entirely.

That would have been the outcome, had an icicle not suddenly slammed into the corruption energy.

The impact caused half of the corruption energy to vanish instantly, forcing the remainder to retreat from Queenie’s barrier. It huddled in place, seemingly too terrified to make another move.

However, no more icicles followed the first.

Queenie looked at me expectantly, assuming I would finish it off since I was the one who fired the icicle, but I remained motionless.

Once it sensed that the immediate threat had passed, the corruption energy resumed its assault on Queenie’s barrier.

Queenie struggled to hold it back, but she was powerless to prevent the corruption energy from slowly regaining its lost power.

Yet, every time it reached a significant level of strength, another icicle would strike it down.

This cycle repeated endlessly as Queenie’s barrier was forced to become stronger and stronger.

It was a brutal method of training, but this was the extent to which I was pushing her.

"If you want to be lazy, then I’ll make it impossible for you to be lazy."
