Shota's Isekai NTR Adventure Chapter 1975: You’re embarrassing me

Insectum fell into a sudden silence the moment I gained mastery over the bracelet.
It wasn’t that the spider creature had vanished physically; rather, it simply ceased all communication with me.
I sensed that something intangible and profound had departed from the arachnid—a presence that could be perceived by the soul but not touched by the hand.
Because it had served as my guide throughout this ordeal, I reached out to offer it a place on my shoulder, thinking we might have more to discuss later.
However, the spider showed no interest in accompanying me further.
Declining my hand, it retreated toward the ceiling instead. It used a strand of silk shot from behind to pull itself away into the shadows.
Watching the spider depart, a lingering sense of unease washed over me regarding its sudden withdrawal.
It felt almost as if the creature was intentionally avoiding my company...
Pushing those thoughts aside, I composed myself and turned to exit the chamber.
Upon stepping out, I walked into a tense standoff; Klein and the royal guards were locked in a fierce staring contest with the elite guards. From their aggressive postures, it was clear they had been on the verge of storming the room to rescue me.
Their hostility only dissipated once they confirmed I was unharmed.
Reflecting on it now, a significant amount of time must have slipped by.
I had been so preoccupied with the tasks Insectum set before me that I had completely lost all sense of time.
Had I delayed my exit any longer, a violent confrontation might have actually erupted.
As soon as I approached, Klein and the royal guards rushed forward to encircle me, acting as a protective shield as if expecting an imminent ambush.
Despite the elite guards having already demonstrated their restraint, my men clearly didn't trust them in the slightest.
Then again, given their stubborn nature, there was little I could do to change their perspective.
I simply turned to the elite guards and commanded, "Let’s go back and see your queen."
They gave a silent nod and began to lead the way, completely indifferent to the suspicious glares from Klein and the royal guards.
My men hesitated for a moment, but since they were lost without a guide in this place, they had no choice but to follow the elite guards' lead.
After trekking through the tunnels for a while, we arrived back at the hall where Queenie awaited us.
As we entered, she greeted us by saying, "It seems like you were able to claim it in the end."
She remained reclined in a state of utter lethargy, appearing as though she couldn't care less about the outcome.
Recalling Insectum’s earlier comments, I couldn't help but give her a peculiar look.
Queenie must have sensed my judgmental thoughts, as she snapped, "What are you looking at me like that for?"
"It’s because of how lazy you are."
Those words didn't come from my mouth.
Instead, the voice belonged to a spider that had materialized out of nowhere in the middle of the room.
It was Insectum, appearing without warning.
"What are you doing here?" Queenie's voice was laced with genuine shock.
Her surprise wasn't due to Insectum possessing another host, but rather the fact that Insectum was actually present and speaking to her directly.
"Why shouldn’t I be here? I’ve already talked to our guest, so there’s no reason for me to hide myself."
"You’re embarrassing me," Queenie muttered without missing a beat.
Insectum responded with a calm, biting tone, "I’m not embarrassing you, you’re embarrassing yourself. If it wasn’t for the fact that I created you, then I really wouldn’t have made you my messenger."
"Enough of that, get out of here."
Even though they were supposed to be a deity and its herald, their dynamic was far from what I expected.
Both had confirmed that Queenie was a creation of Insectum, yet their behavior lacked the typical reverence found between a creator and their subject.
Queenie showed absolutely none of the respect one would expect a creation to show its maker.
She spoke to Insectum like a rebellious teenager arguing with a parent. Conversely, Insectum’s tone was that of a weary parent nagging a difficult child.
The two of them behaved much more like family than a god and a divine messenger.
Their bickering quickly filled the room with a thick, uncomfortable atmosphere.
Klein and the royal guards looked utterly baffled; they couldn't understand the conversation, but they could certainly feel the awkward tension radiating from the pair.
With a heavy sigh, I took a moment to explain to my men exactly who was possessing the spider.
When they heard the truth, they shot me looks of pure disbelief, as if I were spinning a tall tale. I had no way to prove it other than the reality of the situation.
Believe me, I wanted to deny the absurdity of this scene just as much as they did.
Eventually, the two beings settled down and ceased their petty arguing.
Insectum cleared its throat and said, "I’m sorry for this embarrassing scene. It’s just that no matter what I say to her, she really doesn’t listen to me."
"If you didn’t keep saying it, maybe I would listen."
Neither could resist getting in one final, parting shot at the other.
