Su Ming and his companions travel to Xiangxin Street in hopes of finding the woman known as Qin Qing. After failing to find her at home, a neighbor reveals that the grieving mother attempted suicide following the news of her daughter's death and is now hospitalized. Su Ming reaches the hospital to find her in a catatonic state, refusing all medical intervention. Desperate to reach the broken woman, he pulls out a tattered military uniform belonging to her long-lost husband, managing to stir a flicker of recognition in her deadened gaze.

Qin Qing extended her shaking hand, grasped the military uniform, and tears streamed down nonstop, drenching it while she whispered in a sobbing tone.

“You’re back, I’ve finally waited for you.”

Right then, Su Ming pulled out Lin Chuyu’s belongings and spoke gently.

“Auntie, here are Chuyu’s items; I’ve brought them back as well.”

Qin Qing turned toward Su Ming offering the relics, her body shuddering as she uttered in utter despair.

“I was wrong, Chuyu, I was wrong, I shouldn’t have let you go, it’s all my fault….”

“It’s all my fault…..”

“Auntie, listen to me.”

Noticing her beginning to fault herself, Su Ming quickly called out.

Yet Qin Qing kept blaming herself.

“It’s all my fault…..”

Witnessing this, Su Ming drew a deep breath and shifted his tactic.

“Auntie, hear me out first! Pull yourself together; Chuyu is merely missing in the Mist Star Sea, not definitely lost. Should you break down and she returns one day to find you gone, her heart would shatter.”

Su Ming’s words made Qin Qing gaze at him like clutching the final thread of hope.

“You mean Chuyu might still live?”

“Yes.”

Su Ming affirmed warmly.

“You’re right, I can’t give up; I have to wait for her return home.”

A sudden flame of will to survive kindled in Qin Qing’s heart, much like when Lin Tianhai vanished, always yearning for his comeback.

“Auntie, cooperate fully with the doctor’s care. If Chuyu returns and finds you this way, she’d grieve deeply.”

Su Ming advised Qin Qing.

“Okay.”

Qin Qing gave a faint nod.

Once done, Su Ming exited the room and spoke to Doctor Chen waiting outside.

“Doctor Chen, please give your all in treating her.”

“No issue, that’s our duty.”

Doctor Chen then went inside with the nurse.

Now, Ankaga and Zhang Yi eyed Su Ming with mixed feelings and inquired.

“Boss, what’s our next move?”

“Zhang Yi, handle all Auntie’s hospital fees and add extra funds there.”

Su Ming instructed Zhang Yi.

“Got it!”

Zhang Yi agreed with a nod.

“Ankaga, purchase shop 147 from Echo Sister, whatever the cost.”

Su Ming directed Ankaga.

“On it!”

Ankaga spun around and departed right away.

With matters set, Su Ming reentered the ward, spotting Qin Qing now taking her meds and getting the IV drip cooperatively.

Doctor Chen then told Su Ming.

“I’ve examined her; her body isn’t badly off. With good treatment and rest, she’ll recover for sure.”

“Good, I’ll remain by her side these coming days.”

Su Ming responded to Doctor Chen.

“Perfect. Physical wounds we handle, but mental scars need your support.”

“Got it, thanks!”

“No trouble; we’ll see the next patient. Call if needed.”

“Sure!”

Su Ming nodded.

Days later.

Su Ming wheeled Aunt Qin Qing into the hospital courtyard to enjoy the sunlight.

“Su Ming, thank you.”

Qin Qing expressed her gratitude to Su Ming.

“Auntie, no need for thanks; it’s only right.”

Su Ming replied softly.

“Chuyu often spoke of you over calls; I couldn’t see her face, but her voice brimmed with happiness each time.”

Qin Qing shared with Su Ming.

“I know.”

Su Ming answered quietly.

Sensing Su Ming’s subdued tone, Qin Qing added.

“I feel a little weary.”

“I’ll wheel you back to rest.”

“Alright.”

Qin Qing nodded lightly.

Su Ming guided Qin Qing back to the ward.

Afternoon came.

Qin Qing slept soundly on her bed.

Su Ming sat nearby, keeping watch.

Ankaga then showed up at the door, murmuring.

“Boss.”

Su Ming stepped out promptly, shutting the door.

“Boss, shop’s taken care of. Landlord wasn’t in the Thirteenth District, so it dragged a little.”

Ankaga presented the deed to Su Ming.

“Excellent work; grab paper and pen!”

Su Ming checked the deed, seeing Qin Qing’s name on it.

“Yes!”

Ankaga answered at once.

….

As dusk fell.

Qin Qing awoke gradually, seeing the room deserted.

Doctor Chen entered then, smiling.

“Awake now.”

“Doctor Chen, where’s Mr. Su Ming?”

“Mr. Su Ming had business and left earlier, but he left items for you and asked me to pass them on.”

Doctor Chen offered an envelope to Qin Qing.

Qin Qing accepted it, opened it, pulled out the deed and letter, then read the note.

“Aunt Qin Qing, I’m sorry! I have some matters to deal with and can’t accompany you upon discharge. Lin Chuyu and I were great friends and I sincerely hope you live well. Regarding Lin Chuyu, I can responsibly assure you that she is only missing, not gone. I believe that one day, she will certainly return. So please take good care of yourself. If you encounter any problems or need anything, please contact me, here’s my number…..”

Finishing the letter, Qin Qing glanced at the deed, eyes growing teary.

Next morning, Starlight City.

Su Ming and his two aides stepped out of the train station.

“Boss, where next?”

Zhang Yi questioned.

“No need to tag along; you’re on leave now, head home and recharge.”

Su Ming told Zhang Yi and the others.
