Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1640 529: Genetic Lock 5
Previously on Shadows of the Deep Space...
"No worries, Junior Su Ming has clashed with him previously. During that time, Su Ming faced off against Sakari, Asya, and Mechanical Sect Leader·Cross single-handedly and stood firm, so handling him alone shouldn't be an issue anymore."
Sigurd said in a lively voice.
Hayes felt stunned by Sigurd's statement and glanced toward Su Ming, yet he responded swiftly.
"Fine, then I'll handle three Fake VI Generation Biological Mecha·Dark Devourer."
"It's decided, I'll command the V Generation Standard Mecha·Erosion Shadow along with the rest of our units to hold back the leftover Biological Mecha!"
Sigurd answered while grinning.
Right then, Su Ming fixed his gaze on Sakari and switched on the open comms line.
"Sakari, here we meet once more!"
"Indeed! Your presence always brings me trouble."
Sakari answered with a grin.
"Feeling's mutual."
"Such humility from you."
"Don't you act the same way?"
"Haha! You've seen through me."
"Let's go, reveal your real power."
Su Ming responded gravely.
Sakari swiftly triggered the Gray Decay Mode, causing patterns on Blade of Death's exterior to warp and glow intensely, releasing a fearsome gray energy. A decaying gray ring formed overhead, radiating a chilling power, and with a gesture, he called out.
"Attack!"
Su Ming's gaze intensified, and he murmured.
"Dark Energy Mode, engage!"
"Critical Breakthrough, Limit Release!"
...
Ilyas's energy surged explosively, enveloping the whole Mecha in dark fog while crackling with savage electrical bursts.
Su Ming lifted his spear and lashed out.
"Strike!"
The Mecha units from both factions rushed forward to clash.
In that instant, Su Ming and Sakari guided their Mechas at the same time, transforming into dreadful light trails as they lunged at one another.
Their impact echoed through the stars.
Crack!
The starry expanse broke apart as if glass had splintered.
Soon after, Blade of Death was hurled back.
Su Ming's eyes narrowed sharply, his velocity blistering as he dashed ahead, driving the Dragon Base Spear at Sakari.
Sakari controlled Blade of Death to unleash its might, dividing it into three sections in a flash, evading the strike and then slicing at Su Ming from various angles.
Su Ming promptly engaged the AT Barrier.
Ka!
Sakari's edge struck the AT Barrier, making the shield warp intensely.
Su Ming targeted Sakari and abruptly swept the Dragon Base Spear in a wide arc.
Sakari pulled back right away, yet he lagged just a fraction.
Crack!
A gash appeared on the Mecha's outer layer.
Sakari's features turned grim.
Now, Su Ming drove Ilyas with savage intent, aiming to end Sakari.
Sakari sensed overwhelming strain at once but countered with everything he had, as the pair kept smashing together in an intense stellar duel.
On the other side, Mo Xiu steered Thunder Angel, becoming a raging thunder streak, barreling wildly toward Deputy Corps Commander Geteri.
Any Mechas in his path were demolished in moments.
Geteri's expression twisted in alarm, hastily directing Demon Hunter to spin around and escape.
Aus and his allies hesitated to help. Being singled out meant annihilation in short order.
A chase unfolded across the stars, with troops endlessly trying to intercept, but Geteri looked over his shoulder and saw the gap shrinking steadily.
He resolutely turned on Demon Hunter's Overclocking Mode for greater velocity in flight, then linked up with Sakari via comms and bellowed.
"Lord Sakari, save me!"
While locked in combat with Su Ming, Sakari caught Geteri's plea, spotted Thunder Angel—with its Genetic Device powered up—pursuing Geteri, and his mood soured further.
The Federation deployed three VI Generation Mechas in this zone, though the remaining pair faced containment.
Yet observing these incompetents, reliability seemed absent, and he foresaw that soon all three VI Generation Mechas might converge on him.
Moreover, the Federation's backup First Legion proved remarkably skilled, surpassing even Dark Star Empire's First Legion. Should the fight drag on, defeat was inevitable.
Sakari's face shifted through emotions, ultimately choosing a path as he declared.
"Geteri, get ready to pull back!"
"Oh, alright!"
Geteri answered without delay after hearing Sakari.
Without pause, Sakari alerted Novkate to start the pullout.
Geteri craftily skipped informing Aus, opting to signal only his own forces to fall back since they handled the encirclement.
Still, Aus spotted the problem fast, noting the Second Legion's units withdrawing mid-fight, grasping that Sakari planned an exit.
Absent any alert, it was evident Geteri orchestrated it.
A ruthless glint appeared in his stare, and he accessed the comms to command his followers.
"Fall back!"
"What? Commander, are we pulling out already?"
Numerous underlings were surprised.
"Affirmative, head straight into the core of Mist Star Sea, back to base!"
Aus commanded resolutely.
"Understood!"
His followers responded at once.
Abruptly, Aus and his group wheeled about and exited the fray, their spot perfect for disengagement given their initial 'U'-shaped surround.
Yet this abrupt exit plunged Dark Star Empire's First Legion into chaos.
Troops from Sky Dome City ignored Aus's forces, instead pivoting to hammer Dark Star's First Legion with brutal assaults.
"Comrades, finish off these scum!"
"Forward!"
....
Just then, Sakari guided Blade of Death into Light Speed Fold Flash, evading Su Ming before veering off into emptiness.
Su Ming observed Sakari disengaging, choosing not to block, realizing the foe remained fit and hard to capture. Plus, pressing him might spark a carnage where survivors were few.
Although Su Ming let Sakari go, he showed no mercy to Dark Star Empire's soldiers, accessing the comms to direct all units.
"Strike without mercy!"
Star Destroyer·Gray Crystal, alongside vessels and Mecha squads, wildly hounded Dark Star Empire's First Legion.
Whoosh whoosh!
Energy blasts and projectiles poured over them.
Boom boom~
Right away, Dark Star Empire's First Legion took heavy hits.
Witnessing this, Geteri grew frantic, switched on comms, and screamed at Aus.
"Aus, why are your units fleeing so quickly—return to back me up!"
"Apologies, my forces are spent, we're out!"
Aus kept fleeing onward.
"You bastard!"
Geteri swore in fury.
Yet it altered little; he had no choice but to guide his soldiers through the barrage while retreating.
