Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1606 - 523: Thunder Angel 5

Previously on Shadows of the Deep Space...
Determined to eliminate Mo Xiu for allowing a key target to escape, Agolotto and his allies mobilize their forces, with Aus piloting the upgraded Pseudo-VI Generation Mecha·Master of Blood and Agolotto in his evolved Black Soul. Mo Xiu relinquishes command of the Wind Dome to Admiral Roches and pilots the formidable VI Generation Mecha·Thunder Angel, joining General Helagar in the Wind Messenger to lead the countercharge. As mecha forces from both sides clash in the starry sky, Mo Xiu boldly challenges the enemy leaders, deftly dodging their attacks before colliding fiercely with Agolotto's Black Soul, sending it reeling backward.

Aus's face shifted subtly, yet he guided the Master of Blood to advance, striking with intense force.

Mo Xiu wielded the Thunder Pattern Blade in his left grip, blocking Aus's assault with brute strength.

Aus felt a jolt of surprise deep inside!

Right then, Dixis, Maiwuer, Cafrolin, Lorina, and the rest directed their V Generation Mechas to assault from every angle, brandishing weapons at Mo Xiu.

"Die!"

This time, Mo Xiu directed the Thunder Angel to lift its head, the thunder patterns on its surface abruptly illuminating, bursting with fierce lightning bolts.

"Not good, dodge quickly!"

Aus yelled, his features twisting a bit.

Dixis and his companions hastily steered their mechas backward.

Regrettably, they were a moment too slow, as the dreadful blue thunder veil expanded outward.

Within a flash, Aus and the others found themselves wrapped in the thunder veil. Their powered energy shields warped savagely at once, before the energy shields on all V Generation Mechas burst apart.

Mo Xiu next ordered the Thunder Angel to morph into a fearsome lightning ray, surging toward Maiwuer without delay.

"Maiwuer, be careful!"

Aus promptly sounded the alert!

Maiwuer's heart tightened abruptly while he maneuvered the V Generation Mecha, Aurora Apostle, to execute a light speed fold flash and vanish.

However, Mo Xiu, at the helm of the Thunder Angel, twisted course like a bolt, pursuing into the far reaches of the starry void.

As Maiwuer materialized in an instant, the Thunder Angel had already closed in, lifting its Thunder Pattern Blade, crackling with savage electricity, to slash downward.

Maiwuer, overcome with dread, hoisted his green scythe to parry!

Crack!

The Thunder Pattern Blade clashed against the green scythe, causing the whole Aurora Apostle Mecha to shudder as if struck by a massive impact, its arm joints wrenching fiercely.

At the same time, the ruthless lightning arcs channeled through the scythe straight into the Aurora Apostle Mecha.

Sizzle!

The mecha went completely numb in a heartbeat.

Mo Xiu rapidly brought the other Thunder Pattern Blade crashing down.

"No!"

Maiwuer's eyes widened in horror, screaming out.

Crash!

The Aurora Apostle split clean in half, detonating with ferocious power.

Dixis and the rest beheld the sight, their hearts seizing up, faces etched with terror.

In mere seconds, Maiwuer lay slain; this Thunder Angel proved utterly horrifying.

Now, Mo Xiu piloted the Thunder Angel to pivot and target Dixis, shifting into a nightmarish lightning streak that ripped across the starry expanse, barreling ahead.

Dixis sensed a chill grip him like an icy abyss instantly, promptly gesturing to bellow at his followers trailing him.

"Charge! Stop him for me!"

A horde of Dark Star Empire Mechas swarmed at Mo Xiu like swarms of insects.

Mo Xiu lifted the Thunder Pattern Blade in his left hand as he commanded the Thunder Angel, the blade erupting in wild electricity, slashing out with effortless motion.

The rampant lightning unfurled, and the approaching mechas burst like fireworks, failing to slow things even slightly.

Dixis's visage betrayed utter terror.

But luckily, Agolotto and Aus sped in with their mechas just then, launching a full onslaught against Mo Xiu.

"Hmph!"

Mo Xiu veered to confront the incoming strikes directly.

The three mechas smashed together amid the stars.

A devastating thunderstorm roared forth, swallowing the trio of mechas.

Meanwhile, Black Tide Fortress commanded a massive fleet exiting the Mist Star Sea.

Black Tide Fortress's central control chamber.

Lu Mi delivered the update to Qian Lin.

"Lady Qian Lin, we've cleared the Mist Star Sea. Should we engage the Superluminal Flight Device?"

"Activate!"

Qian Lin cast a look at the starry backdrop behind, gently nibbling her lower lip.

"Yes!"

Lu Mi promptly relayed the order.

In a moment, the whole evacuation fleet powered up the Superluminal Flight Device.

The immense starry realm wavered broadly.

Black Tide Fortress along with countless vessels dove into subspace.

"Lady Qian Lin, subspace entry confirmed."

Lu Mi informed Qian Lin.

"I know."

Qian Lin answered, her tone weighted with concern.

They had reached safety, yet it hinged on Mo Xiu remaining to fend off the foes.

Should the Third Legion suffer total annihilation and Mo Xiu perish in combat, she truly wondered how to justify it to the Federation.

Noticing Legion Commander Qian Lin's somber mood, Lu Mi and the crew bowed their heads too.

Time ticked away slowly.

A few hours on, Lu Mi updated Qian Lin.

"Ma’am, time to conclude our superluminal flight."

"Hmm."

Qian Lin responded in a rough voice.

Truth be told, Black Tide Fortress's Superluminal Flight Device could press onward, but the Level 4 Transport Ships' propulsion couldn't handle more distance.

Shortly after, Black Tide Fortress and the array of ships surfaced from subspace.

"Ramp up the Scanning Device to full output for comprehensive sweep."

Qian Lin instructed Lu Mi.

"Understood, initiating scan."

"No enemies detected."

Lu Mi announced.

Upon hearing Lu Mi's words, the group exhaled in relief.

At this point, once the Superluminal Flight Device cooled down, one more jump would virtually guarantee their security.

"Stay alert, danger isn't fully behind us."

Qian Lin cautioned the team.

"Yes!"

The assembly replied together.

Suddenly, the Scanning Device blared a shrill warning.

"Warning: Massive spatial disturbances spotted at 552W kilometers distant!"

Lu Mi exclaimed in alarm.

"How could this be?"

"How did they track us?"

Various officers murmured in frenzy.

"How else? Clearly, a traitor spilled our position. Power the Optical Device, show the visuals!"

Qian Lin stated, her countenance grim.

The Dark Star Empire couldn't have zeroed in on their superluminal halt with such accuracy; they'd at best guessed to lay a trap close by, meaning betrayal from within.
