Shadows of the Deep Space Chapter 1604 523: Thunder Angel 3

Previously on Shadows of the Deep Space...
Su Ming reunites with his team, who recount their struggle against a formidable Heroic Level VI mechanical octopus nearly at Emperor Level, reigniting their confidence in his presence. After a lively gathering with emptied wine boxes, he tenderly reunites with his despondent pet Little Grey, whose excitement leads to playful pursuit of Celeste around the room. In the Mist Star Sea, Qian Lin oversees the Federation's withdrawal from Black Tide Fortress, destroying Mist Mechanical Lamps to cover their escape, but alarms blare as Dark Star Empire forces under Aus close in relentlessly, launching missiles at the rear ships despite full-speed efforts.

Qian Lin spoke with a grim look on her face.

"Lord Qian Lin, please hear us out. Bringing us would just slow you down. Instead of hindering the primary group, let us remain as the rear guard. At the very least, we can give you some precious time."

Numerous officers declared with resolute faces.

As Qian Lin observed this, her fingers tightened into fists without her control, the sound of her knuckles popping clearly.

Right then, the Legendary Level Star Destroyer Wind Dome came to a halt and swiftly pivoted its front to point rearward.

Lu Mi noticed and exclaimed in alarm.

"Lord Qian Lin, the Wind Dome has halted!"

"What? Get me connected to Mo Xiu right away!"

Qian Lin's face shifted dramatically at Lu Mi's report.

Lu Mi worked the controls promptly, and shortly after, the link was made, with Mo Xiu's hologram materializing in front of Qian Lin.

"Mo Xiu, what are you planning? Don't act recklessly!"

Qian Lin questioned, her features altering subtly.

"Qian Lin, this isn't recklessness on my part. I fully understand my actions. Somebody has to hold the line against the Dark Star Empire, or escape will be impossible for anyone."

Mo Xiu replied to Qian Lin, a grin on his face.

"You'll perish!"

"As a warrior, death doesn't scare me. What terrifies me is defeat. My decision is final—keep advancing!"

"I get it. Swear to me you'll return alive."

Qian Lin shook a bit upon Mo Xiu's statement, yet ultimately voiced her plea.

"I'll give it everything!"

Mo Xiu grinned and said goodbye, then ended the link.

Gazing at the blank communication display, Qian Lin's visage displayed deep complexity.

Lu Mi inquired with worry.

"Lord, is this truly okay?"

"We have no choice but to believe in him. Relay my command: proceed at maximum velocity."

Qian Lin stated, her gaze filled with firm resolve.

"Understood!"

Lu Mi answered without delay.

Once the directive was issued, the grand armada surged ahead.

Within the core command center of Blood Ridge Fortress.

Nozter informed Aus.

"Lord Aus, the Wind Dome has ceased movement."

"Initiate a comm request to the Wind Dome!"

Aus commanded with an icy smirk.

"Affirmative!"

Nozter responded instantly.

The connection formed rapidly, and Mo Xiu's projection showed up before Aus.

Aus chuckled derisively.

"Mo Xiu, why the haste in fleeing? Weren't we supposed to see you away?"

"Heh, a mutt remains a mutt, no matter its tricks with words."

Mo Xiu retorted icily.

"Ha, weak in power, but sharp-tongued indeed."

"Likewise for you!"

"Hmph, you believe a single Legendary Level Star Destroyer can halt us? What's the source of your boldness!"

"Why not test it and see!"

Mo Xiu gestured dismissively with chill intent.

The primary gun of the Legendary Level Star Destroyer Wind Dome flared with intense radiance, as every one of its 1-1000W launch bays unsealed across the enormous frame.

"Idiotic!"

Aus sneered disdainfully.

In a flash, the chief weapons of Blood Ridge Fortress, Ghost Ship, and the accompanying vessels glowed, with innumerable launch bays unfolding.

Just then, the sensor array in Blood Ridge Fortress blared a shrill warning.

"Alert: High-energy assault detected!"

...

Aus and his companions were stunned, yet prior to any response.

A pair of devastating rays and a barrage of missiles that blanketed the cosmos launched from the fog on either flank, engulfing the Dark Star Empire's armada completely.

Boom after boom!

Myriad blasts flowered like fireworks, lighting up the vast cosmos in bursts.

A searing solar flare detonated against the shield of Blood Ridge Fortress, jolting the structure fiercely.

Aus staggered a touch.

A crimson alert frame flashed on the holographic interface without pause.

"Alert: Shield integrity dropped by twenty-three percent."

...

"What's happening here?"

Aus bellowed furiously upon viewing the notice.

"Ambush! The armada has suffered heavy losses, many Level 4 vessels destroyed—grabbing visuals now!"

Nozter shot back swiftly.

At that instant, the imaging system revealed the scene.

Out from the leftward haze came the Star Destroyer Wind Fang, stretching 270 kilometers, featuring a diamond prow, sleek contours, clad in slate-gray alloy plating etched with intricate designs, flanked by abundant launch bays, at the helm of a vast fleet and a colossal robotic force.

From the rightward haze, the Star Destroyer Scarlet Blade surfaced, spearheading its own fleet and forces.

"Trouble, Lord Aus—it's the Third Legion; we're pinched from both sides."

Nozter announced, his countenance paling slightly.

Hearing Nozter, Aus's features twisted savagely, glaring at Mo Xiu as he snarled.

"Fine, I never anticipated your readiness. But this suits me well—we've clashed from the Danube Star Sea until now; it's time to settle it. Today marks your end!"

Truthfully, spotting the forces from the haze, Aus realized pursuit was futile; they needed to crush Mo Xiu's group right there.

Despite their numerical superiority over Mo Xiu's, encirclement had them vulnerable. Without full counterattack, doom loomed.

"Bold words, if you've the nerve, come at us—hope you don't regret it!"

Mo Xiu boasted defiantly.

"Seeking demise!"

Aus shot back, veins bulging in his eyes.

Mo Xiu refused to bandy more words with Aus, severing the link outright.

Aus stared at the cut-off feed, erupting in a shrill cackle, as Nozter and the rest betrayed hints of anxiety, aware of their lord's fury.

"Link me to Agolotto and the others."

"Yes!"

Nozter affirmed briskly.

Swish!

Links to Agolotto and the rest activated, and Aus addressed them with frosty tone.
