Ling Dau attacked the Cryanid King, tearing it apart. He then unleashed a barrage of attacks on those who tried to take advantage of the distraction, severely injuring Bo Wu, the wyvern-titan beast, and the Titan Battle Puppet. Di Ying managed to create an opening by forcing Ling Dau to move, exposing Hai Di to Amon and Yao Ai.

Yao Ai and Amon approached Hai Di. Even though Ling Dau had many opponents disrupting him, their actions didn’t escape his notice. He had one head firing a blast breath. The blast breath targeted Yao Ai, who was the bigger menace. Yao Ai had no choice but to stop advancing.

Ling Dau fired another breath, forcing her to retreat even further. Without Yao Ai, Amon wasn’t brazen enough to approach Hai Di by himself. He attacked from a distance.

Hai Di didn’t fear Amon. He used Demon Palm. The enlarged energy palm destroyed all of Amon’s flying knives while rushing to Amon.

Amon dodged the Demon Palm and sent his lightning flying knives. The six purple knives turned into lightning bolts as they headed to Hai Di.

Hai Di didn’t underestimate the lightning knives. He sensed that the knives were unusual, and his wounds had greatly weakened his power. He channeled his aether on his shadow armor. They thickened into a sphere around him. The six knives hit the sphere, producing explosions of sparks, before bouncing.

When they lost momentum after the bounce, dark cocoons enveloped them, holding them in place.

Hai Di didn’t stop after imprisoning the lightning knives. He pointed his hand in Amon’s direction. Amon zoomed to the side, just before a same cocoon materialized where he was before. Amon used the Invisible Sky Steps to continue moving. He only paused briefly between each dash. A black cocoon continued to pop up at the spot where he paused. If Amon was late for even a fraction of a second, he would have been encased by one of the cocoons.

While it appeared that Amon was running for his life, Hai Di was the one astounded. His Dark Prison art projected very little aura during execution. The dark cocoon materialized abruptly. Most of the time, his target was already caught inside the cocoon before they realized what had happened.

Only the most perceptive Devil Realm cultivators with high reflexes could dodge this art. Even Lang Man and Yao Ai couldn’t afford to be careless when they were targeted. Amon was only an Intermediate Mammoth Stage cultivator. For a cultivator of Amon’s level, Hai Di never missed, even when the target knew his intention. Hence, he was baffled as to how his art failed to catch Amon.

Amon wasn’t exactly treated Hai Di’s art as a walk in the park. The speed at which Hai Di executed the Dark Prison art was on par with Yao Ai’s Finger of Death. If not for his knowing about Hai Di’s arts and that he was now much faster than when he faced Yao Ai’s Finger of Death, he wouldn’t have been able to dodge the art even with his danger sense warning him.

The dark cocoons forced him to keep moving away from Hai Di. He had no choice but to resort to throwing flying knives. The many knives were like shooting stars as they raced forward.

Hai Di wasn’t concerned about these flying knives. He didn’t even bother to do anything. The knives arrived and bounced off the shadow armor covering his body. As the countless shooting stars bombarded his defensive art, he sensed something powerful concealed among them.

The power he sensed slammed into his shadow armor. He felt a strong banging. Something punched through his shadow armor and stabbed his shoulder. Thankfully, his shadow armor had absorbed much of the penetrative force. The residual energy stabbing his shoulder felt like nothing but a light punch. He didn’t suffer a wound.

"Finger of Death?" He muttered while staring at Amon.

Amon was the one who shot the penetrative energy just now. The art Amon had used was very similar to Yao Ai’s Finger of Death, except that it contained darkness elements.

Hai Di wasn’t surprised that Amon could use Finger of Death. He still considered Amon as Yao Ai’s subordinate. He didn’t know that the power dynamic between Amon and Yao Ai had reversed, and he didn’t know Amon learned the art from Tu Bang instead of Yao Ai. What surprised him was that Amon managed to punch a hole in his shadow armor.

No matter how good the art was, if the one wielding it didn’t have sufficient power, it shouldn’t be able to penetrate his defense. In his opinion, an Intermediate Mammoth Stage cultivator like Amon shouldn’t have sufficient power to do that. He didn’t know that Amon was using the fused aether within his mixed energy space to boost the art’s power. Additionally, Amon’s Law of Darkness also allowed him to strengthen the darkness energy within his art and slightly manipulate the darkness elements inside Hai Di’s shadow armor when his art touched it.

Hai Di wasn’t aware of these fine details. He attributed Amon’s feat to his condition being worse than he thought. This made him swallow his pride and retreat to where Ling Dau had been pushed toward. The dark cocoons holding the six lightning flying knives dissolved. The lightning flying knives returned to Amon.

"Tch!" Amon regretted using the Dark Finger of Death. He had overestimated himself. Producing a half-hearted result like this had instead backfired. He had scared his target into hiding under the Deity Beast.

Ling Dau himself was still busy firing his blast breaths to keep Yao Ai away from Hai Di. The wyvern-titan beast had died with broken bones after Ling Dau’s nonstop slamming. There was a limit to how long the beast could maintain its diamond skin. The second its skin softened, it was crushed to death.

Di Ying continued to cling to Ling Dau. She accumulated her energy and delivered a breath attack of her own. The beam from her crashed into Ling Dau’s head, which was about to fire another blast breath. The impact caused his head to tilt, and his blast breath veered away. This interruption allowed Yao Ai to catch her breath. She quickly flew away. The consecutive blast breaths had made her forget about Hai Di.

Ling Dau stopped attacking after being hit by Di Ying’s breath. Di Ying’s breath attack didn’t wound him, but he wasn’t going to let that slide. He growled as all six of her heads stared at Di Ying, who remained clinging onto his huge body.

He grinned wickedly as he spoke, "I wonder what Di Yu will feel when she learns of your death. Will she be sad? Or will she be relieved? Because, no longer must she suffer the humiliation of having an offspring who has disgraced herself by becoming a human’s pet."

Di Ying was stunned by Ling Dau’s remark. "How... How do you know...?"

Her claws, which were clinging onto Ling Dau, loosened. Ling Dau struck at this moment. Her three heads bit Di Ying in separate locations. He pushed her before slamming her down on the ground.

"Di Ying!" Lin Li called with worry. She fired her wind blasts, but they had minimal effects.

In her worry, she became careless. Ling Dau’s other heads came for her. She managed to dodge one but failed to dodge the other. His thick, long neck slapped into her and sent her crashing into the ground far away.

"Let... Let me go...!" Di Ying exclaimed.

Ling Dau didn’t comply. His three heads kept biting down. His teeth pierced her scales. Blood was leaking from the wounds. One of his heads hovered above Di Ying’s face. He said, "I know now why you are alone even when you have not yet matured. You have been cast out for being a disgrace. We are similar, you and I. Swear your allegiance to me, and I will accept you as my junior."

"I... I wasn’t cast out!" Di Ying exclaimed. "We are not similar! You are a freak! My mother and uncle will avenge me! You mark my word!!"

"Hehe. So feisty. I will enjoy tearing you apart, you ungrateful whelp. Allow me to let you in on a secret. You will not be the first noble dragon I murdered. Hehehe..."

Her laughter paused when he felt another familiar presence. It was more than one this time. Before he even turned to the presence to ensure he didn’t sense wrong, a thundering voice had alerted him that he wasn’t.

"Who dares hurt my child...!!!"

A thick column of utter blackness rushed toward Ling Dau. He didn’t dare to be careless. He channeled his aether, forming an energy shield. The black beam crashed into this shield. It held, for some time, but ultimately shattered. The residual energy of the black beam slammed into him.

The impact sent him reeling back, releasing Di Ying from his bite. The black beam just now hurt him. His scales at the impact area were slightly eroded but remained intact.

He growled as he looked at the one who had attacked him. It was a colossal black dragon. Following behind it was a red dragon that wasn’t smaller in size.

"Ying Er!" The black dragon called. Her voice was trembling. She landed beside Di Ying, who was covered in her own blood. "My child... Oh, my poor child... Look at you... What has the world done to you? You shouldn’t have suffered all this... Amon! Where are you? You, fiend! How can you let my child be harmed like this!!"

"I am here," Amon answered. He answered Di Yu’s call but didn’t approach. He knew not to antagonize an impulsive mother who was grieving, but he also refused to hide. He knew Di Yu couldn’t do anything to him so long as he had his mental link with Di Ying as a bargaining chip.

"You are fast," Amon said. "I thought we must wait a few more hours before you arrive."

"We happened to be nearby," Thien Huo answered.

"You, bastard!" Di Yu hissed at Amon. "You will pay for all the hurt that Di Ying has suffered."

"I am not the one who hurt her. The perpetrator is over there," Amon pointed at Ling Dau.
