Amon retrieves the broken divine sword, the Light of Justice, and tests its power, finding it incredibly sharp and capable of slicing through rock. He attempts to infuse it with infernal and divine energy, discovering it reacts strongly to divine energy, emitting a blinding light that affects those without a mental link to him. He then frees the giant butterfly beast, Yuka, from her control collar, revealing they are both trapped in a pocket dimension with a sealed exit. Yuka, now free but unable to escape, reluctantly stays near Amon. Amon refocuses his attention on deciphering Yun Chao's writings, seeking a new cultivation art to surpass his current limits.

After dedicating nearly an entire day to deciphering Yun Chao’s cultivation art, Amon finally grasped its essence. This technique, known as the Prey Absorbing Art, was a sinister method for increasing one’s cultivation by leeching the Qi from other cultivators. Yun Chao’s notes provided a comprehensive guide to its practice.

Although the art held a certain allure, Amon ultimately decided against using it. His reasoning stemmed from two primary concerns. Firstly, while the morality of draining others for personal gain didn't inherently bother him, this method fostered a dependency on others. It echoed the dual cultivation offered by Madam Lin, a reliance he disliked, even if it involved imposing his will. He recognized that practicing this art would necessitate a relentless cycle of killing to fuel his advancement, a path ill-suited for long-term survival. Such rapid power growth would inevitably provoke widespread animosity, potentially turning him against the entire world unless he curbed his progress, thereby negating the art's very purpose.

His second reason was rooted in advice from Yao Ai. Amon suspected this cultivation art surpassed the Profound level. Yao Ai had cautioned that learning arts of such a high caliber from others might prove less effective, meaning he would likely obtain a diluted version of Yun Chao’s original technique. This was an outcome he wished to avoid.

Therefore, Amon resolved to extract the core principles of the Prey Absorbing Art and integrate them into a unique cultivation art of his own creation.

As these thoughts occupied him, Yuka approached. Amon detected her presence and, before she drew too near, inquired, "What do you want?"

"Are you going to remain clad only in that?" Yuka asked, gesturing towards him.

Amon surveyed himself. Bo Wu had enveloped him in the Xian Cloth, leaving him otherwise unclothed. He examined the cloth; it was riddled with holes and tears, its inscribed power words now faded. The artifact felt inert, beyond any hope of repair.

‘A pity,’ he mused, discarding the ruined cloth. He retrieved fresh clothes from his black space ring and donned them. Turning back to Yuka, he asked, "Is there anything else?"

Yuka seemed hesitant, her indecision palpable. After a prolonged silence, Amon’s tone grew sharp. "Leave me be! Do not disturb me. We are no longer connected in any way."

Yuka retorted sharply, "Bastard! You grant me my freedom here, yet what’s the difference from you still imprisoning me?"

"As I stated, it is not my concern. It's not as if I desire to be trapped here either. Once I discover an escape method, you are welcome to use it. Until then, do not bother me!"

"Tch!" Her expression shifted back to one of uncertainty. Finally, she conceded, "Didn't you previously mention wanting my continued assistance? I am willing to help in exchange for compensation: the nectar of the Primordial Blue Lotus."

Amon regarded her with a measured gaze. "You are prepared to follow my commands?"

"If you provide me with the nectar as payment."

Amon adopted a thoughtful expression before stating, "Very well. We have an agreement. Now, leave! I have no immediate orders for you. Do not disturb me."

Yuka felt a surge of exasperation, her anger simmering.

Amon chuckled at her reaction, deciding not to prolong the teasing. "If you wish to return to my black space ring, why not simply say so?"

Yuka remained silent for a considerable time. Eventually, she whispered, "Let... Let me enter your ring."

Amon extended his hand. She lightly touched it and vanished. Amon then refocused his attention on the wall inscriptions, contemplating how best to utilize the information contained within.

Several days passed as Amon meticulously formulated a plan. He dedicated his every thought to this endeavor, concurrently conducting experiments that merged the meridian point techniques with the altered energy manipulation principles derived from the Prey Absorbing Art.

His work was interrupted by insistent beeping sounds emanating from a battle puppet within his black space ring. He summoned it forth, and Dao Su’s voice emerged from the device. "Amon, are you not yet free for the alteration? My supply of the Endless Slumber Poison is dwindling. You must provide more, or I will be forced to deactivate this Primeval Scortaur."

Hearing this, Amon realized he could no longer postpone the task. "I will be there in twenty minutes. Prepare the alteration process."

"Finally! Everything is ready in the confinement chamber. I am merely awaiting your arrival. Come swiftly!" Dao Su’s voice conveyed palpable excitement. He seemed to view Amon as one of his experimental subjects. Amon didn't particularly mind this, unless, of course, the alteration process went awry, a scenario that would undoubtedly incur Dao Su's severe wrath.

For several more minutes, he remained there, diligently collecting his thoughts and consolidating the reflections from the past few days. Subsequently, he retrieved the prison box, unsealed its portal, and stepped through.

The confinement chamber was, in fact, Yuka's former prison cell. Dao Su had meticulously prepared everything. The room was amply stocked with his specialized equipment. Amon expressed his surprise to find that Dao Su was not the sole occupant of the room; Zee Whang was also present.

Noticing Amon's questioning gaze, Zee Whang remarked, "I intend to observe. It would be quite amusing if something were to go awry."

"You would be wise to hope that such an event does not transpire. I cannot fathom what I might do if it does," Amon issued a warning.

"At the very least, I shall derive considerable amusement before facing any repercussions you might exact," Zee Whang retorted.

Amon saw no point in engaging further. He proceeded towards Dao Su, who was positioned at the room's center, adjacent to the unconscious and severely weakened Primeval Scortaur.

"Are you prepared?" Dao Su inquired.

"Am I not standing here?" Amon responded.

"I shall administer the Endless Slumber Poison to induce unconsciousness. Following that, we will..."

"No, proceed with the procedure while I am fully cognizant," Amon interjected, cutting off Dao Su. "I wish to remain entirely aware and uninhibited. Moreover, the Endless Slumber Poison has no effect on me."

Dao Su regarded Amon with utter disbelief. "Are you serious? I would prefer you did not lash out at me involuntarily due to the agony."

"I shall refrain from doing so," Amon assured him.

"You cannot possibly grasp the magnitude of the pain you are about to endure. This is unlike any suffering inflicted by battle wounds."

"I will persevere through it," Amon adamantly declared.

Dao Su was at a loss for words. While he was unfazed by the screams of his victims, he found the prospect of potential retaliation from an unrestrained victim deeply unsettling. He experienced a strong impulse to suggest aborting the procedure if Amon refused to be sedated or restrained. However, upon casting another glance at Amon's resolute expression, he realized that option was no longer viable.

"Argh...! What in the blazes! So be it! Do not claim I neglected to warn you!"

Dao Su instructed Amon to disrobe and assume a prone position on an operating table situated next to the Primeval Scortaur. Amon's back was thus exposed. Dao Su meticulously reconfirmed the intended alteration with Amon, ensuring he had not wavered in his decision.

Having secured Amon's affirmation, Dao Su commenced his work. He intensified the dosage of the Endless Slumber Poison administered to the Primeval Scortaur, guaranteeing its continued unawareness throughout the process. He conducted preliminary tests by inserting a needle into various nerve clusters responsible for pain sensation on the Scortaur. The creature remained inert. Only then did Dao Su retrieve his surgical instruments and begin the incision.

Dao Su labored over the Primeval Scortaur for nearly two hours before returning his attention to Amon. He presented Amon with a liquid to consume. In response to Amon's scrutinizing look, he affirmed that it was not a sedative. Rather, it was a specially formulated concoction designed to minimize his body's rejection of foreign tissue. Following this, he applied a gel to Amon's exposed skin. The gel possessed an offensive odor and induced a persistent itch.

Dao Su proceeded to utilize a set of sizable needles, inserting them into numerous points across Amon's body. These needles were connected via cables to an intricate machine humming and vibrating beside the table. Amon perceived subtle electrical currents flowing through the needles into his system.

"It is showtime," Dao Su announced. "Final opportunity. Are you certain you do not wish to be rendered unconscious?"

"No," Amon replied firmly.

"Sigh... Ensure you make no abrupt movements. I am quite serious. Do not hold me accountable if complications arise due to your inability to remain still."

"Hehehe," Zee Whang chuckled, moving closer to get a better vantage point.

Amon meticulously folded his clothing and bit down hard upon it. He secured his arms by interlocking his fingers. He adopted a similar posture with his legs, crossing them tightly. Gritting his teeth, he braced himself just as Dao Su's scalpel sliced into his skin.

Amon heard Dao Su's voice, "This will require a considerable duration. I sincerely hope you comprehend the implications of your decision."
