As Allan charged toward the Lichlord with the intent to end the battle once and for all, the undead creature greeted him in a far different manner than expected.
"You really think you can win, you pitiful humans?!" the Lichlord roared. "Die!!!"
Driven by pure anger and frustration, he warped the surrounding space and hurled both Allan and Zack into a vast abyss formed from swirling shadow specters and tormented ghosts.
he bellowed
As his manic laughter echoed, thousands of spectral arms erupted from every direction. They seized Allan and Zack, pulling them relentlessly downward into the dark abyss below.
"Nnnggh!"
The pair desperately activated their techniques and powers, but nothing worked as intended. Their life force was rapidly draining away as the shadows dragged them deeper.
"Uncle, we’re...! Uncle?" Zack called out in confusion.
Allan stood firm with a confident smile even as the shadowy hands continued pulling him into the depths. He remained calm because he had already seen her.
"Huh?!"
The Lichlord gasped at the sound of a calm voice accompanied by steady footsteps. An elven woman with long cascading blonde hair, sharp emerald eyes, and breathtaking beauty walked forward.
Wearing a pristine white dress and holding a radiant golden scepter, she pierced through his defenses effortlessly. She passed through his barriers and spells as if they did not exist, somehow enhancing her awareness and speed.
"W-Wha...? An elf?!"
She raised her hand, and endless holy light consumed everything in an instant.
The Lichlord screamed as his eyes widened in terror. His soul was forced to retreat back into his phylactery.
"She’s the Saintess of Holy Light! Just like the Hero of the Blazing Sword, they are here...! I must gather more power and then... then...!"
The brilliant light consumed even his domain and freed Allan and Zack, who now stood safely behind her. Faylen extended her hand, and before the Lichlord’s fleeing soul, a giant hand made of pure golden and white light surged forward, chasing him without mercy.
He could not retaliate or fight back in his current defenseless state. Faylen’s power was simply absolute.
The giant hand of light reached him and grasped his spectral soul tightly.
And then she spoke.
"Soul Purification. Exorcism. Holy Judgement. Ghost Erasure. Turn Undead..."
She unleashed dozens of powerful spells in perfect harmony. The Lichlord’s soul twisted in unimaginable agony.
Faylen smiled with unshakable confidence.
A blinding explosion of white and golden light erupted from deep within the Lichlord’s own body. Unable to resist in his vulnerable state, his spectral soul swelled and exploded violently.
In that very moment, every undead creature he controlled suddenly stopped moving and collapsed lifelessly on the spot. The sight shocked the dwarf king and the prince, who were gasping for air after barely surviving the ordeal.
"Zack, you should regroup with Luck and hurry back to Sylphy!" Faylen said firmly. "We will hold the front line here!"
"O-Okay, but— Wait! I heard an explosion. The monsters are escaping and chasing the refugees!" Zack insisted urgently. "We must go save them!"
"No need to worry," Faylen replied, shaking her head with a calm and confident smile. "Someone else has already arrived with an army."
"Someone... else?"
Outside the mountain, the refugees fled desperately through the secret route toward the waiting airships. However, waves of monsters emerged and began chasing them down.
In the midst of their panic and despair, one noble dwarf stumbled as he tried to board an airship first. He ignored the screams for help around him.
"I got here first, I...!"
He failed to notice that he had stepped onto a much larger, different airship. A massive, tall figure stepped out from within it.
"Huh?"
The dwarf’s eyes widened in shock as he beheld the imposing man. He carried a massive black broadsword, wore regal golden and emerald armor, and bore the finest crown in the entire country, perhaps even the world. His cascading gray hair and short gray beard framed an old yet powerfully built frame that had endured for ten thousand years.
An immense, unmatched presence radiated from him. This was an ancient hero who had somehow remained alive and whose strength had not faded in the slightest.
His sharp emerald eyes glanced down briefly.
the noble dwarf panicked as recognition struck him.
the giant elf said calmly, gripping his blade with steady resolve.
The noble dwarf stood completely mesmerized, awestruck to be in the presence of one of the legendary Venerables of this world.
Venerables were beings who had transcended mortality through their own power and effort, rising far above ordinary mortals and touching the realm of gods. Though they were not yet True Gods, they represented the greatest potential of mortal kind and served as thorns in the side of both gods and evil gods alike.
"There’s nothing to worry about anymore..." King Thassarion declared, his voice deep and reassuring. "Because I am here."
The monsters surged forward. King Thassarion raised his broadsword high as his Supreme Aura exploded outward, spreading across the battlefield.
In a single breath, everyone found themselves standing in the middle of a breathtaking, peaceful forest. A gigantic sacred tree loomed in the distance, radiating endless divine power.
The gigantic Tier 11 and Tier 12 bosses that had been chasing the dwarves and other citizens were instantly sliced apart. There was no resistance, no struggle, nothing at all. They were simply cut down where they stood.
Their bodies were soon covered in countless plants and trees that sprouted rapidly from within them, spreading rich spiritual energy into the air and further strengthening the king.
"We advance!" King Thassarion commanded. "Liberate Evercraft from this monster invasion! Save the king, assist the heroes! We will not leave today until we have resolved this crisis and slain the Evil God Lolth!"
Right behind him, an elite army of Yggdrasil Knights and High Elven Archmagi stepped forward and charged alongside their king.
Enough was enough.
King Thassarion had decided to take matters into his own hands. For a threat this severe, he had promised his daughter and granddaughter that he would not abandon them. This time, he kept that promise.
His radiant emerald eyes glowed with intense power as his aura and presence resonated powerfully through the skies.
"Why...! Why is he here?! The Evil God Slayer...! The only mortal who has ever managed to kill one of us! Wasn’t he supposed to be protecting the capital?!"
Even Lolth, hidden deep within the Dragon Tomb, trembled in fear.
