Zack summoned his secret weapons: six golden and emerald drums forged from Windsteel and Thunder Mithril, embedded with the highest-quality Wind and Thunder Spirit Stones, and bonded directly to his soul as his Soul Treasures.
Besides his two trusty axes, the Thunderstorm Axe and the Bone Beast Axe, these drums were Zack’s true hidden power. They overflowed with the authority of the skies — wind, thunder, and above all, sound itself.
Music!
"Ah! He’s taking them out!" Luck gasped. He quickly retreated from Zack’s range while engaging a boss himself, kicking it down and mowing through hundreds of monsters in his path.
He knew what Zack was about to unleash could even surpass his own heroic powers to some extent. This young man, chosen by no gods, possessed the strength to surpass those who were. Zack had inherited and merged powers from both Ninhursag and Arafunn, and he was now ready to reveal the ability he had awakened.
Something that could only be described with one word: Divine.
Space itself warped around him as his axes glowed. Using them as drumsticks, Zack struck the six drums floating around him like a divine halo. The monsters stared in confusion while the bosses hurriedly charged their strongest magic and attacks, refusing to let him finish.
But they were too late.
The moment Zack brought out his six drums, the outcome was already decided.
The thunderous sound of the drums echoed across all of Evercraft. Not a single person failed to hear it. Zack smiled as memories flooded his mind — the time he spent learning this incredible power from Arafunn, a power he had once rejected but now guided him toward an entirely new path.
Thunder and wind tore open the sky. The melody embodied the raw power of creation, the vastness of the heavens, and everything the world above encompassed. A Chronicle of Heaven took form as thunder and winds manifested into a raging tempest that consumed everything in its path.
There was no purer melody than the song of destruction born from the first thunder and the first wind in this world.
The first time Zack had accidentally channeled this power, everything had gone blank. Hours later, he woke up inside his tent and found Arafunn napping beside him.
"W-What happened?!"
"...? Ah! You’re awake... Hahaha..."
"W-What? What’s wrong?"
"Come. See for yourself. We’ll talk once you see it..."
"See what...?"
"What you did."
Arafunn’s expression grew serious — something incredibly rare. When they stepped out of the camp into the jungle where they had been staying, right outside the Skinchanger Inheritance Grounds, Zack froze.
"Huh...?"
Where a beautiful, lush jungle had once stretched for kilometers, only a sea of charred trees and blackened soil remained. It looked as if divine judgment had fallen upon the land by accident.
Zack fell backward onto the ground, unable to believe what he had summoned.
A power even Arafunn could not access, despite being blessed by the gods and born as an elf beloved by the wind.
"I call it the Primordial Melody of Tempest," Arafunn said, his eyes filled with admiration.
"Huh? W-What? I did this?!"
"Yeah, that’s right, my little apprentice," Arafunn laughed. "I don’t know how... perhaps it’s a combination of your unique upbringing and the fact that you bonded with Sylphy. Your power has evolved far beyond that of ordinary heroes. This song you can channel is the Primordial Song of Tempest — the embodiment of the first sound, the crackling thunder and the flowing wind!"
"Eh...?"
"That is no man-made song, Zack... You... hahahaha! You’re more talented than I am."
Back then, Zack truly couldn’t believe it. He was terrible with the flute, the guitar, and nearly every instrument — except the simple drum. Perhaps the oldest instrument created by ancient humans, and the source of countless rhythms.
After completing the inheritance and growing stronger, Arafunn took Zack to a city of Magic Forgers. He spent all his savings to buy the finest materials and commissioned the best Magic Forger in the city — an old elf — to create six drums capable of containing all the power Zack could infuse into them.
Thus, these incredible relics were born, now permanently bonded to his soul.
As the melody of thunder and wind resonated across the battlefield, the divine power within Zack expanded rapidly. Space warped, and time itself seemed to pause for a brief moment.
The endless melody continued. Zack moved with fluid precision, striking the massive drums with his axes. The sky twisted violently as thunder and winds descended with devastating force.
The bosses and all the monsters in the vicinity widened their eyes in terror. For a moment, everything went blank.
The entire mountain trembled. Thousands of monsters and dozens of bosses were instantly vaporized, disappearing without a trace.
In the distance, Arafunn and Ninhursag watched with surprise before sighing.
"If Zack is forcing himself to play the Primordial Melody, he must be cornered!" Arafunn shouted as he flew across the skies, unleashing powerful musical notes and slashing attacks that devastated his enemies. "He doesn’t have enough divine power to use it more than twice!"
"Will his attack be enough? He already eliminated a vast number of them!" Ninhursag called out while charging forward, devouring bosses and growing stronger with every kill as she fought the endless armies.
"He’s managing to keep them at bay!" Arafunn gasped for air. "Damn it, I’m not used to this form yet! I need more practice. I’m already getting exhausted... I can’t last much longer! Just where are Faylen and Allan?! And where are Shade and Nepheline?!"
A powerful presence suddenly manifested behind them. Arafunn and Ninhursag’s eyes widened as they saw a gigantic skeleton holding a massive scythe, radiating an overwhelming aura of shadows and darkness.
They immediately recognized him and the terrifying new power he wielded.
Ruler of Floor 33 — the Netherworld Lichlord Archmagi. Tier 11+, approaching Tier 12.
Once a nearly mindless necromancer that simply spawned undead, he had now been granted incredible intelligence. The Lichlord used Shadow Movement to pierce through space itself, appearing directly behind the heroes before raising his scythe high.
"Begone!"
He slashed at the empty air, sending a giant wave of soul-burning netherworld flames surging forward. Arafunn and Ninhursag dodged at lightning speed.
But that was exactly what the Lichlord wanted. With a vicious smirk, he moved his skeletal claws, revealing four other powerful bosses waiting along the escape routes.
The Demonic Golem King and the Mercury Goo Queen trapped Arafunn, unleashing their Domains and warping space to weaken him inside an alien realm of their creation.
The Thunderclap Cyclops Barbarian King and the Abyssal Bone Treant did the same to Ninhursag.
"Heh."
The Lichlord smiled coldly and gestured with his fingers. Giant armies of undead poured through dozens of portals around him. He had summoned his forces from the tower — an army that had grown to over one million strong thanks to Lolth’s blessing.
"Go! Destroy this city and bring me every living being! The Great God of Dungeons desires living dwarves as slaves!" the Lichlord commanded eloquently. "Seize them all!"
