Reincarnated With A Glitched System: Why Is My MP Not Running Out? Chapter 1974: Sylphy VS The Permafrost Forest Ruler, Winter Dryad

~5 minute read · 1,188 words

While I fought the beasts alongside my freshly summoned Living Strength Spirit, one of the three primary bosses manifested itself.

Standing over thirty meters tall, she possessed a slender, feminine humanoid anatomy. Her skin was a ghostly pale blue, riddled with overgrown frozen vines and flora. Long tresses of shimmering ice crystals adorned her head. Now tainted by the Evil God’s Curse, her complexion had turned a sickly purple, erupting in jagged spikes and oozing foul, virulent poison.

There was no mistaking her identity: she was one of the three terrors ruling the Glacial Caverns Dungeon.

[Permafrost Forest Ruler, Winter Dryad – Curse of Miasma Corruption Form (Tier 9: Rank 3)]

The previous wolf had reached Tier 9: Rank 2; this monstrosity held Rank 3. A solitary rank might seem negligible, but at these higher tiers, the power disparity between each of the ten ranks is immense. Every bit of knowledge I had gathered confirmed that the power gap widens drastically as one ascends the tiers.

Just a single rank above that wolf, this dryad stood in a league of her own. I felt it pierce through my very bones—an overwhelming, paralyzing frost. Her mere gaze summoned a blizzard so intense it began to glaze my form in rime and stifle my hottest flames.

Her corruption had warped her beyond natural logic, granting her the ability to speak. That was a disastrous development. Monsters were innately programmed to massacre humanity; a beast possessing the intelligence to articulate words would only refine that slaughter into something even more efficient and sadistic.

I needed to finish this—immediately.

But the cold was nearly unbearable.

I shrouded myself in my Quintuple Yggdragon Aura, merging my Double and Triple Yggdragon Auras into one singular entity. Five separate spiritual and draconic elements swirled within this mantle: fire, nature, holy light, steel, and space. A five-headed hydra emerged manifests within the swirling essence.

As I attempted to internalize this volatility and mirror the state I had once unleashed against my brother, my draconic transformation faltered.

The complication was simple...

I was far too slow.

She bridged the gap in an instant and delivered a crushing kick without hesitation. Her colossal foot sent me spiraling through the frost-bitten woods, my momentum shattering countless crystallized trees into jagged shards.

The beast stalked toward me. Her every stride sent tremors echoing across the dungeon floors. As she advanced, the terrain itself shifted; corrupted, miasmic frost-trees sprouted from the earth, hurling themselves at me like a legion of icy spears.

"Sylphy!"

Furoh lunged forward, shifting into a gargantuan dragon—an impeccable replica of Ignatius’s brother, a red-scaled behemoth of terrifying mass and force. He had avoided this manifestation for ages due to its heavy toll on his life force, but he could maintain it for at least a few minutes.

"Get on with it! Aagh, it’s freezing!"

Ignatius joined him, expanding until he was a colossal serpent woven from spiritual flames. Together, they attempted to force the giant dryad backward, only for her to swat them aside with savage strength, sealing their frames in solid, unbreakable ice.

"Furoh! Ignatius!"

Panic clawed at my chest. Gritting my teeth, I lunged forward, slamming into her with every ounce of my remaining power, my shield and blade held high. Golden lightning and iridescent flames erupted from my weapon as I compressed all my elements into one finishing blow, further magnified by my Mana Destruction ability.

She shrieked in fury as my assault shattered her magical and spiritual barriers. My Mana Destruction Skill was peerless at unraveling and annihilating mana, allowing me to carve through her defenses.

Echoing roars of dragons resounded from my aura as I struck with reckless ferocity, drawing upon the concentrated power of my Flames of Strength to slice through her limb.

A thunderous blast pulverized her arms as if they were fragile glass. For a heartbeat, her eyes went wide—then she wore a cruel smile. Dozens of new, frost-draped limbs sprouted instantly, launching a relentless, crushing bombardment.

"What?!"

Her immense fists pummeled my frame, driving me deep through the heart of the forest. Hundreds of minor monsters swarmed toward me at her silent command as she levitated toward my position.

"Hahah... she’s truly formidable."

I forced myself to my feet, expanding my aura outward. Knowing Ignatius and Furoh were immobilized in cursed ice, I quickly recalled them to my Soulscape to recover.

The rest of my spirits converged at my side.

"Sylphy! Are you holding up? We wanted to intervene sooner, but the waves of monsters were endless!" Yggdra cried out.

"Master, allow me to mend your wounds!" Naturia pleaded. "Eat these!" She thrust dozens of leaves and fruits toward me.

"Ignatius and Furoh are rendered unconscious... Why do the fire users always tire so easily this time?" Nephilim mused, her divine and demonic aura flaring to shroud us. "Master, I will remain at your flank to cover you. As for the rest, I suggest full integration directly into your body. It will provide the massive surge of strength necessary to survive."

"You're correct," I conceded, exhaling deeply. "My pride kept me from relying on your full potential. You all are my power! Spirits, initiate Fusion!"

The spirits surged toward me in a torrent: Yggdra, Naturia, Brownie, Violet, Glutton, Red, and Beelzebub. Even the weakened Ignatius and Furoh contributed their essence despite their fatigue.

"Are you certain?" I voiced my concern.

"Fear not! Upon merging with your constitution, your unique immortal physique will mend us instantly!" Ignatius reassured me.

"Indeed!" Furoh agreed. "I will meld you with the form of Ignatius’s kin—double the destructive output!"

"Understood—I am in your debt!" I roared.

My aura erupted, saturated with draconic majesty and pure spiritual essence. I felt their presences entwining with my soul, becoming fundamental parts of my very core. Simultaneously, Divine Thunder Rings, a Radiant Sunlight Halo, and a Star of Destruction began to orbit my form.

"Armageddon!" I called out. "Release five percent of your capacity—just enough to turn the tide, not to level the area."

"You require a fusion with me?" she responded.

"No—that would likely detonate my physical form," I sighed.

Realizing that a complete fusion with her current manifestation risked shattering me under the weight of her divine providence, I opted for a mere five percent of her total strength.

"Very well!"

Her small silhouette surged, rapidly maturing into a slender, towering humanoid red ant with translucent wings and an exoskeleton forged from orichalcum-red-and-gold plating. A wave of scorching divine heat rippled outward, liquefying the surrounding permafrost in heartbeats.

The boss glared at us with palpable disdain, gnashing her teeth as she unleashed her Winter Aura once more, hoping to quell our power with a ferocious blizzard.

But the frost no longer held its dominion. Though layers of ice formed upon us, our divine fires incinerated the accumulation instantly.

"Now—let’s finish this!"

I bellowed in concert with Armageddon and Nephilim. The three of us charged forward, crashing into the dryad while reaping through her army of minor terrors.
