Sophia's soul returns to the Coleman Residence after her death, observing Lisa's worry over her disappearance while Damien brushes it off and leaves for Juliet's birthday party. Haunted by betrayal and her past love for Damien, who now favors Juliet, Sophia watches party chatter about the serial killer that targeted her. The police suddenly call Damien, revealing they've found Sophia's belongings at a crime scene and asking him to confirm her identity.

Trailing behind Damien, I stepped into the police station.

"Mr. Coleman, please come and confirm for us." An officer led Damien over to identify the items recovered from the scene.

The clothes, phone, and bag... Every one of them belonged to me.

Damien looked pale. It took him some time before he managed to utter a word.

"Where is she?"

"We're sorry, Mr. Coleman. Our initial investigation suggests she's probably dead. But we haven't located her body yet."

"Then stop the search right now. Don't waste effort on her. Nothing happened to her."

Damien sneered, "She deliberately left her things there to build suspense and make me feel guilty."

Damien refused to believe I had died.

In his eyes, I was just a scheming villain willing to stoop to any low for my aims. He wished more than anything for my death.

"Are you certain, Mr. Coleman?" The police eyed Damien with puzzlement.

"Yes."

Damien nodded firmly and added gravely, "I apologize for the trouble. I'll handle this myself and track her down within three days."

Damien's eyes darkened ominously, revealing his fury.

I understood him perfectly. He fumed because I had gone too far this time.

All of a sudden, laughter bubbled up inside me. Standing beside Damien, I laughed until tears streamed down.

I was truly gone, yet he blocked the police from investigating further.

It mirrored the day of my death. My final desperate plea had been a call to him.

But when he picked up, his voice dripped with irritation: "Sophia, are you done? Why don't you just go die?"

Drugged by the assassin, I lost all hope and dropped my phone. Soon after, they dragged me away and ended my life.

"Violette, where's Sophia? Tell her to drag her ass home and quit hiding."

Exiting the police station, Damien dialed Violette in a rage.

Violette Hills remained my sole friend. I never got to bid her farewell.

"Damien, have you lost your mind? I'm the one who should ask you. Where the hell did you stash Sophia?"

"Tell her this is her final warning—come crawling back home first thing tomorrow. If not, I won't lift a finger even if she drops dead out there."

I couldn't fathom his sudden panic. His breaths came in sharp gasps.

Frozen in place, I felt numb. Then a bitter smile twisted my lips. "No need to hunt for my corpse—it's gone for good."

"Damien, Sophia's vanished! I've already alerted the cops. You scum, if harm comes to her, I'll make you pay forever!" Violette sobbed while cursing him out.

Damien stiffened, then let out a scornful laugh.

"Another one of her schemes? Using this to corner me into marriage? What a shameless bitch."

My sight grew hazy as I stared at Damien.

Right then, I surrendered completely.

One week prior to that fateful night, thunder crashed amid a storm.

Damien shoved me onto the bed, his stare icy with menace.

"Sophia, you've been tempting me nonstop, craving my touch, haven't you? Such a slut—desperate for any man?"

"I didn't... Damien, our marriage pact was set from the beginning. You're the one dodging it."

Damien ignored my pleas entirely.

He seized my chin and crushed his lips to mine. That kiss meant nothing—just raw, brutal desire.

"Isn't this exactly what you crave? Drop the act already."

"Damien, stop... My belly aches so much..." Tears flowed as I pleaded, but he wouldn't release me.

Like a man possessed, he dug his fingers into my waist.

In that instant, I sensed he yearned only for my demise.

"Sophia, you shoved Juliet down the stairs and nearly murdered her. I haven't even dealt with you for that."

"I'm showing mercy by not hauling you to the police, so cut the games. Dream on about forcing me to wed you!"

Words failed me completely by then.

It wasn't me. I never pushed her.

Warm blood surged from between my thighs, agony ripping through my abdomen.

"Damien, it hurts so bad... Get me to the hospital, please."

That second, I knew something was terribly wrong.

"So damn irritating." Repulsed, Damien flung me away.

He rose to dress, intending to rush me to the hospital.

But then his phone buzzed.

"Damien! Help! That psycho killer's after me—save me!"

Damien's expression crumpled. He snatched his clothes and bolted out in frenzy.

Obsessed with Juliet's safety, how could he spare a thought for my survival?

Pain overwhelmed me; I tumbled off the bed and huddled on the floor. "Help... Damien... Please... Don't abandon me."
